Melariara Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 (edited) BYOND Key: MelariaraGame ID: cby-a7aoPlayer Byond Key/Character name: Huivn as Proz-Lore The Invocator, WizardStaff involved: I am a staff member, due to me being involved in the round and due to timezones, there was no one else available, hence this complaint.Reason for complaint: Poor antag play, no RP murder.Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? I did, but see above.Approximate Date/Time: 14/04/21, Round ended at 4:44pm AWST, 10:44am GMT+2 Round started fairly standard. Two investigators, two officers, a warden, Two visitors, a bartender. Chief Engineer joined about thirty minutes in, DC'd and came back to set power. While the power was out, wizard came on station and said he wanted to show off magic tricks, and led the security on a wild goose chase, using a scrying orb while hiding to listen to what we were saying, and returning to his body to comment on it, essentially taunting us. This "taunting" would continue for a majority of the round. Once the power came back on, we were in the holodeck, and he was showing us his scrying orb, which Aleksander Chernivoskiy looked into and blasted his eyes out. At this point, I went with the Chief Engineer, Adalgrimur Jormungandr, to get a roller bed for the collapsing Cherni. I stuck him into the body scanner, and figuring an investigator could at least figure out what was wrong but not how to fix it, saw that his eyes were out and he was on eighty percent brain power. At this point, security comms lit up with "We have a situation," so I ran back to the holodeck where I saw Arrats Lecubarri, the other investigator, fighting bats. I helped take down the first lot, then dealt with the second lot in front of the library before stepping through. Then, I saw the wizard Oni'Sama and a large explosion, so I unholstered my disruptor. Immediately, he turned around and went corruption form, attacking me before I even said anything, downing me, breaking three of my bones, and these injuries eventually killed me. At this point, there had been NO SECURITY CHATTER ABOUT LETHALS AT ALL and there was also no medical. Ghosting, I found out that officers Razorak Szsk and Yukio Takano had also died in the exchange, leaving only the warden and the other investigator to fight out. After spectating a bit, I saw the warden also attempt to confront him, after he had found Takano's body and raised a skeleton from it. There was another fight and both the warden and the other investigator died. I admit, I wasn't paying much attention at this point. Apologies. Afterwards, the CE managed to try and get a visitor in a wheelchair and the bartender to call for an ERT but could not, eventually ending in the CE dying to Oni'Sama spam and skeleton, while the bartender died to bats. Eventually though, the wizard died to a burglar pretending to be a Legionairre. Edited April 14, 2021 by Melariara Fixing when round ended.
Shadow7889 Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I was Officer Szsk during that round. During the round, lethals were only cleared once the wizard had rather quickly murdered at least three people, and leaving one other person unable to play. Given they had a scrying orb, I cannot possibly understand how they thought it was a good idea to murder at least 90% of the crew with zero medical. As stated by Mel, ISD moved to detain, not kill. Myself and Takano used disruptors and batons without harm intent and were met with fireball spam and bats. I can understand as an antag, causing conflict is a part of the role but I cannot stress enough the lack of medical or let alone the lack of force we applied in detainment. At the end of the round only two visitors were left alive out of at least 9-10 people.
Sycmos Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I was the Chief Engineer, Adalgrimur Jormungandr. The events of the round proceeded as is from my perspective: 1. I joined thirty minutes into the round to set the power. Prior to my arrival the manifest was largely security personnel, with two visitors and a bartender as the only other staff. No medical personnel were present for the entire duration of the round. 2. There is some mild public communications discourse about an "entertainer", named Proz-Lore The Invocator. They used some kind of magic in Security lobby that aggravated the otherwise calm security staff, to which the Wizard led ISD on a manhunt. I was still setting up the engine at the time so I could not properly respond. 3. Promptly after finishing setting the shields, about five minutes later, I was notified that Officer Cherni had burned their eyes out handling a device that the Wizard had. Given that there was no medical staff I hacked into a medical vendor to access basic medical equipment. It was at this time that the initial combat began, and Investigator Razla (Mel) left to aid the other officers. 4. I shortly chased after the Warden who had run out of the armory with a rifle and demanded an explanation as to what was going on. Before he could however we witnessed the Wizard assume a corrupted form and beat Razla to near death as she lay on the floor. At this time we still remained on green alert as there was no immediate cause for concern, and everyone continued to use non-lethals. I escorted Razla to medical where myself and Investigator Lecubarri attempted to provide aid, to no avail. She passed shortly after. 5. This prompted me to dash to the Captain's office and assume acting captainship, having suffered losses in Security with more losses on the way with Szsk and Takano grievously injured to already dead. I dashed back to Security after doing so to having found the Wizard confronting the Warden, carrying a laser rifle, and the Investigator whose disruptor was still locked. At this time I went around and finally unrestricted weapons. After three had already died, we finally switched to weapons hot. I made repeated demands for the Wizard to stand down, each one he ignored as he bided time for the animate skeleton of Takano's body to attack the Warden and Lecubarri, who I had given a singular laser rifle. I fled after he and the animate skeleton downed the Warden, being only equipped with a disruptor pistol lifted from the captain's locker and the baton, knowing I would need to attempt to reach Central somehow. 6. Sometime between then and me reaching the captain's office, Investigator Lecubarri died. I was wounded from being attacked by the corrupted form Wizard briefly, and could not run. At this time I realized that all of security was dead. I skipped making another fax (I had sent one earlier alerting Central of the goings-on when I became acting captain), and sent an EBS instead. It was at this time I called for Visitor Zeke Quirin and the Bartender Anna Kulikova to come to the bridge to swipe the extra ID I had made, and to secure them from the Wizard behind the blast doors. 7. Despite repeated attempts (the two were inexperienced with using the authentication device), we were unable to call for an ERT before the Wizard and his skeleton entourage broke into the bridge using cult magick tile corruption. A skeleton and the Wizard cornered me in the Captain's office, demanding that I submit to them. At this point I had virtually nothing else to lose, so I refused in an attempt to buy the other two time to escape. 8. The fighting began almost immediately with the Wizard opening with a Fireball. Throughout the fight, and it was long due to the Chief Engineer's hardsuit being very suitable for fire and melee damage protection, I counted the Wizard had hit me with 8 Fireballs while I was conscious. These are the only ones that I could see in the log; the Wizard had clearly hit me with 3-4 more while I had blacked out, though they did not register as I could not hear. The Wizard became so crazed with the Fireball spell that they unintentionally roasted their already-incapacitated skeleton. This went on until I eventually succumbed and died. Pictures of registered Fireballs: Pictured are the repeated attacks after I had gone unconscious by the Wizard to kill me, and his admittance of friendly-firing the skeleton: The way in which the events unfolded tell me that the Wizard never planned to engage staff peacefully during a lowpop round with no medical staff, and their insistence on needless escalation and violence ruined the experience for everyone involved.

The wizard does some tricks on the holodecks and messes around with his scrying orb. Then someone looks into his orb and gets there eyes burned out which prompts security to attempt to detain him. At which point the wizard engages in a number 1 victory royale and kills everyone who tries to stop him?
The7thLain Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 (edited) Heya, I played the aforementioned other investigator. I was present for all of the events listed above in the main post and in fact took Razla, Mel's investigator to medical and gave some medical aid and CPR unitl she died. Afterwards, I went around the station collecting bodies of the other officers who had died in the first exchange with the wizard, Takano and Szsk. Both were dead, and Takano was beaten to a point of being unrecognizable, only her ID and uniform identifying them. After bringing the bodies back to the ISD, the wizard followed and was held up by the Vaurca warden, Vol, who told him to leave or be arrested. The wiz first ignored this and made a skeleton from the body of Takano and only then addressed the warden. The Skeleton laid dormant for a short while, and the warden again telling the wizard to surrender and be arrested, having a laser rifle now to protect and coerce the wiz. The wizard then stalled until the skeleton woke up before the warden then couldn't wait longer, moved in to arrest and was then promptly murdered. Being an investigator who was armed by the captain at the time, I couldn't just let them kill the warden like they'd killed everyone else, so I tried to protect the warden and get the wizard under control. At no point before the fighting started was it the intention to kill the wiz, even after he had killed three officers trying to arrest him. As this happened, I was then killed by the wizard after a melee which ended with him oni'soma-ing me along with his skeleton and then beating my unconscious corpse to death over the course of three or four minutes in a similar way to one of the screenshots posted by Sycmos, because the same thing happened to him. There was little counterplay to the situation, it was either ignore the antag's antics or be killed by the antag. There wasn't an area for a middle ground or negotiation. What started the confrontation however was after Chernikovsky burned his eyes out from the orb, security accused the wizard of being grossly negligent of the situation and knowingly allowing Chernikovsky to burn his eyeballs out. After pressuring him verbally on the artifact to hand it over because he couldn't be trusted with it if he was just going to let people burn their eyes out on it, he turned into a shade and fled the holodeck where the demonstration of the orb was and where Chernikovsky burned his eyes out at. (There was no medical or robotics at the time, so Chernikovsky was blinded for the rest of the shift and running at 80% brain activity until he elected to cryo and just leave the round because there was no chance of him seeing again in the round.) Security gave chase because well, a man just turned into a black creature in front of their eyes and ran while security was trying to negotiate him handing over his scrying orb. During this chase and attempt to arrest the wiz and get his orb, he killed two officers and one investigator, the investigator not really even being part of the original chase, being jumped by the wizard in shade form in the library after she pulled her disruptor to prepare for self-defense after seeing it rush into the library. Huivn Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Honestly, it started because the wiki was out of date. I was going to choose Lich and be a spooky dispenser of forbidden knowledge, having gone through the wiki to choose what type of wizard I could be. When I found out that was no longer an option, I wracked my brain to figure out how else I could play necro. (I would like to remind you all that wizard has no PDA and thus no access to crew manifest, so I could not possibly plan around that,) I decided to try and do some magic tricks with the overwhelmingly offensive abilities I had access to. I also had no idea what happened when a non-wizard looks into a scrying orb. I decided that it wouldn't make sense for a powerful wizard to allow themselves to be arrested on a strange station where they are illegally trespassing, so after the cadet melted his eyes (after an LOOC exchange where we both expressed we had no idea that would happen) I went horrid form and ran away, after being flashed and cuffed. I resisted out of cuffs the old fashioned way. I honestly don't remember anything up until finding the investigator dragging the body bag containing Takano, where I shooed them off to make Takano my minion, but I do remember being genuinely surprised I had killed three people. From that point on, I decided the objective was to take over the station, having still not taken a PDA, I had no idea just how barren the station was. I thought up until a few minutes ago that there was SOME civilian presence on the station, so I decided to go and try to take the spare from the CE. I gave them the option to surrender it and live, but they chose not to. As I had taken the spare from the now very much burning to death CE, I declared my intention to call the shuttle on comms, and that anyone who wished to live should head to Escape, but the Legion beat me to it. I was then firmly robusted by an m'rsai tajaran legionary. Seriously. Full health to dead. Two horrid forms, maybe 3 hits. It was spectacular.
Garnascus Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 I let this sit for too long. The long and short of it is that while the sequence of events may be pretty dry and bare bones there really isnt much in the way of rule breaking behavior. It seems reasonable to me a wizard might want to show off his magic tricks on the holodeck and maybe even let the crew play with his items. It is also reasonable to me that security might try to arrest the wizard after a cadet has his eyes burned out by a scrying orb. The next logical course of action by the antagonist is of course "i do not want to be arrested" and that is of course going to escalate to lethal enagagement. Security's "intent" in this case is largely irrelavent. An antag is allowed to stop themselves from being arrested up to and including lethal force. The various points that huivn described not knowing how a particular thing worked is pretty understandable. It is very rare for any one person to get the role, even regulars ahelp questions about it from time to time.
