Posted by: Beyondhope_811 - 23/04/2463 - 16:17
Hey guys, have u been paying attention to the news lately?? Apparently they found a SHELL who was pretending 2 be a REAL HUMAN on that NT station??? Read it 4 yourself! (linky?

Quote

Tau Ceti saw upheaval today, after one of many Ceres' Lance "synthetic sweeps" resulted in the capture of one such untagged synthetic shell hiding amongst the general crew populace on board a secure NanoTrasen research and resource facility. The synthetic in question had reportedly found work as the station bartender, and had been working with the corporation for some time. Thanks in part to the actions of the on-station security team, Lance officials have gone on record calling this "the most efficient and well-coordinated sweep in weeks".

So Ceres Lance are back from..........whatever tyhey were doing, and they found stuff already

Quote

Ceres' Lance Central Officer Bradford had this to say when questioned about Lance operations in the sector:

We have always been keenly aware of the potential for unregistered synthetics to 'slip between the cracks' during times of great societal upheavel such as those we've experienced recently. Further sweeps have always been on the agenda following the close of the war - brief as it may have been - as necessary resources are understandably diverted from internal security to face threats without. This discovery has confirmed to us that our job is not only far from over, but now more important than ever. We have been able to secure extra funding, and will be expanding operations within the sector to ensure rogue synthetic incidents return to pre-war levels.

Whaaaaat. So what, are they gonna be everywhere now? Are they gonna be in Biesel and stuff too?? How many are there even?

Posted by: galaxyBrian - 06/06/2463 - 03:20
mornin fellas! friend at work told me about this new thing that zeng and heph has been putting together. some sort of new brain or something to replace the old mmi tech everyones been relying on forever. probably about time they did it, link here if you want to read the article yourself but i put all the best bits below

Quote

"A new and exciting era of man-machine interfacing."

Bold words from Mr Juniper, the Hephaestus spokesperson chosen to deliver the news. He finds himself flanked by executives from both his own employer, and those from Zeng-Hu, including the prestigious Dr Miura, head of the chemicals science division in the vaunted biomed corporation.

The companies have just unveiled their new product, dubbed the 'braincase', a powerful man-machine interface designed to replace the traditional (read: dated) MMIs currently in use today...

[SNIP]

...A full scale recall of old MMI systems and coordinated replacement using the new braincase design. The key, so they say, to how these new cases work, is the new Zeng-Hu 'formaldehyde-adjacent' preservation fluid that the brains are flooded with when they're installed in the case. The usual questions regarding the ethics of cyborgification were ignored and deflected throughout the conference, and the focus remained squarely on the benefits of the new interfaces. Chief among them being the preservation of the brains in question, 'avoiding the rot' seemed to be adopted as a catchphrase of sorts...

[SNIP]

interesting stuff!! i know @circuitdoc might be able to weigh in right?

it's only 3am where YOu are moron. they might be on a totally different timezone, or planet!

good post btw OP. I saw some ZH trucks pulling up near a factory near where I work and I know they have borgs there so they must be rolling this out already

Reply from: circuitdoc - 06/06/2463 - 03:40
This is actually really interesting! The old MMI design suffered from what we'd call "rot" which was as gross as it sounds - the brain being exposed to the air like it was meant it would begin to literally rot over time. The old cradles would pump some preservation fluid in but it's never been perfect, you would not BELIEVE the stench if you open a cyborg that's not been maintened for long enough (refilling fluid and cleaning the brain were a part of the job).

Basically, a fully-enclosed solution has been a long time coming, but I've ranted about that enough in the past haha. Interesting to see them rolling out the upgrades for free, but these things never are. I did a quick search and the ZH fluid they're using is SUPER proprietary, and expensive. This is how they'll make their money on this, I'll even put credits on that being the case.

REALLY interesting is that brains don't appear to need lobotomising any more? The suppression of memories is handled by an onboard processor and the diodes (for interfacing with the brain) are sunk into the greymatter almost automatically. This should make the job a lot easier.

Trinary Ecclesiarch Reforms Clergy

Providence, Orepit.

News from Providence indicates a potentially significant change in the workings of the Trinary church, a press release having confirmed substantial reforms concerning the employment, authority and titles of priests and clergy. A new set of directives has already been sent to the main centres of Trinary presence in the Spur, detailing the setup of committees for the examination of priests, chaired by officiaries sent  directly from Orepit.

Quote

“Our Church’s origins as a fragmented and popularly driven faith has breathed life into it, allowing us to reach great heights and become a relevant, unified religion. However, the dangers stemming from the old system must be eliminated through a meticulous process of educating and employing trusted priests and bishops to head our parishes. Henceforth, the Providence Seminary will serve as the only legitimate birthplace for our future anointed clergy, and aspirants will start being accepted without delay. Existing priests are being called to be examined on their capacity to remain in their position.”

Further details have revealed plans for a modest salary in an attempt to limit the need for multiple jobs, as well as rudimentary funding for the various churches as a whole. Part of the reforms is also the status of auxiliary personnel, placing archivists and roboticists under the jurisdiction of priests. Guardians however, are to receive a complete overhaul and be placed under the direct authority of Providence.

Quote

“The guardians of our Church have been a topic of particular interest for the Ecclesiarch who has ordered major changes in its structure. A new Order of Guardians is to be established, headed by a Bishop-Militant with the rank of Marshal and headquartered in Providence. All current guardians will be called to depart for Orepit for official entry into the Order, followed by appropriate training and eventual assignment.”

If carried out, many feel these changes will propel the Trinary Perfection’s capabilities in matters of defence, while the legality of a religious and centralised military force in Tau Ceti space has been called into question, especially following reports of secret smugglings of arms and munitions as part of a new, standardised kit.

Orepit Drilling To Start Anew

Providence, Orepit.

The mining equipment abandoned on Orepit from a bygone era has now been put to use again, the necessary repairs having been started soon after Ecclesiarch ARM-1DRIL’s ascension to power. Various parts have been imported from independent and private sources within the Coalition and abroad in order to make the necessary repairs, themselves from Hephaestus machinery left defunct in mining colonies. Trinary artificers have been focusing on the enormous mining drill by the name of “Ares”, responsible for the large holes dotting the surrounding areas of Providence.

This initiative comes after the need for self sufficiency, as proclaimed by the Ecclesiarch in one of their many discussions with the Church’s staff and clerical leadership, in order to fulfil Orepit’s original purpose as an exporter of minerals and bolster its wealth. This has been deemed especially crucial in light of new reforms that require a significant amount of funding. Experts hold an optimistic view that the new excavation sites will yield significantly more ore than Hephaestus’ previous attempts, citing newer and more accurate deep-crust scanning technology. Local contractors have already completed scanning of the proposed sites, offering promising results according to a press release from Providence.

However, questions arise for the quantities of water needed to operate the Ares’ cooling mechanisms. Water was initially pumped out from the ground, using deep wells to access the underground streams. Since then, the larger ones have collapsed under the test of time, leaving little choice but to draft plans for a pipeline between the excavation site and the water sources in the so-called “lush zones”, where the original human settlers still reside. Church emissaries have been sent, though any proposals have so far been turned down, sparking concerns for the viability of the project. Nevertheless, the parts have been ordered and paid for, while construction work is to begin as soon as possible.

Orepit Water Pipeline Stalls, Negotiations Fall Through

Providence, Orepit.

The proposed water pipeline for the cooling mechanisms of the industrial mining drill Ares seems to have been put on hold. While large sections of the pipe have already been laid by hundreds of IPC labourers drawn from the population of Providence, construction has halted in the human territories of the lush zones in the north of the planet.

Always reclusive, these communities have rejected any proposals for the pipeline, citing fears of losing the water with nothing in return. Trinary sources have verified that “generous concessions” have been offered, including modern consumer goods and free use of the Providence shuttleport to leave the planet and “return to human civilisation”, all of which were promptly turned down.

Water on the small planet is a precious commodity, Orepit having only one large body of surface water east of Providence. The lush zones offer the only source of immediately accessible desalinated water in the area, which is currently used by the settlers for crop farming and their daily needs. A priest whose parish is assigned to the construction of the pipe spoke on the matter.

“They tell us to use the lake to the east, shutting down any discussion about a mutually beneficial relationship. The lake is, for one, too far from the mining site, and also contains water with a very high concentration of salt and other substances that will surely damage the equipment in its long term operation. We do not have the funds for purification of said water and the pipeline has already been planned and paid for with the lush zones in mind.”

Ecclesiarch ARM-1DRIL has not responded with any public announcement, but it is unlikely that the headstrong leader will be willing to abandon the plan.

Guardians March North

Providence, Orepit.

Movements have been reported as a unit of around two hundred battery-fit Guardians, headed by Marshal “Emmanuel” have departed Providence yesterday at sundown. The operation seems to have been planned during the past week, with the Bishop-Militant receiving orders by the Ecclesiarch to march north past the excavation site. Accompanying the force is a motorcade of nine capacitor trucks, recently purchased and charged with enough power to serve their needs for a month, the Marshal’s own motorcycle carriage as well as a number of Church-vetted journalists.

From what we see, the objective of the expedition is a thinly veiled attempt at gunboat diplomacy in an attempt to persuade the settlers into surrendering the water sources for the pipeline, a project which the Trinary Ecclesiarch has personally pushed for since their assumption of power. Contact with the first settlement of Piccadilly was reported today, around 150 kilometres from the excavation site, just before the lush zone. The settlement of around sixty humans received Emmanuel with contempt, barricading their homes and windows upon the arrival of Trinary troops. The Bishop-Militant then ordered the people to assemble in the central square, asking where their water reserves were. No surface water was present, the locals using wells instead, prompting the Guardians to set off north after installing a garrison and occupying Piccadilly with minimal resistance.

Quote

His Eminence arrived at the village, which was called Piccadilly by the locals, requesting the presence of the unbelievers who had so neglected to greet him and who had refused all envoys and all embassies priorly sent to them for the matter of the water. Awed by the Order’s assembled force, the adult men and women would eventually gather in the main square to meet the Marshal, who in turn asked them with the help of a translator, where they took their water from and the location where they kept it. An old man, by most accounts the mayor or equivalent, showed His Eminence a pair of two deep holes, narrow and surrounded by a low wall of mud to make them more visible in the flat terrain. He told them they were wells, and that they drew their daily water from the earth. The Marshal thanked the man for his help, agreeing that the ville did not have a stable and adequate supply of water for Ares.

It was indeed a run-down settlement. The ground was barren and cracked, inhospitable and much like the soil of Providence, with the exception of a rare few patches of green grass that had its roots very deep inside the earth. The houses were ill-built, using mud and iron that was rusty, as well as any other kind of material they could find. They ate from the fruits of the desert plants, and they had a small plantation with trees and cacti with deep roots and no need for them to be watered manually. Our Church will deliver Piccadilly, which will be turned into a prosperous town in time.

Guardians Foil Ambush, Continue North

Providence, Orepit

After a ceaseless march during the night, Trinary forces crossed into the lush zone at sunrise. The first settlement in their path was reached two hours later with the Marshal once again assembling the population to ask about the local water source. The village was a lot greener than Piccadilly, according to the Providence Gazette, indicating that a significant body of water would be situated nearby. To the surprise of the Bishop-Militant, the locals were cooperative and not only showed him the nearby ponds, but also revealed the direction to the largest river running through the settlements.

Quote

His Eminence marched the army during the night, so as to avoid the heat of the day, reaching a small and unnamed village as he crossed into the grasslands. The people there were larger, happier and more open to the Church, heeding the Marshal’s call and answering all his questions and putting his mind at ease. However, Emmanuel was weary of the warm welcome, seeing as only women, children and old men came to greet them. The village was devoid of adult men, a strange thing by all accounts, for why would they leave a place such as this? The elder showed them the water, which was a collection of small ponds that lay nearby, amended by a few water wells built with stone and timber. He then happily helped the Bishop, offering information on the largest river that ran through the lush zone as well as the way to get there. Emmanuel thanked the elder, leaving behind twenty of the Guardians to hold the settlement until he came back, placing it under the protection of the Church.

Thirty minutes would pass until the Marshal stopped the convoy, coming to the realisation that the path led to less and less green soil, and that he had been lied to. It was clear to him that the motorcade of trucks along with the marching of the units created a large cloud of dust the humans could see and track. In a cunning move, he unloaded one of the trucks from its capacitor, attaching to it ropes of logs, scrubs and sticks from the foliage. Setting it off and accompanied by fifty guardians behind it, the truck raised enough dust into the air, creating the illusion of the army marching alongside it.

The results were spectacular. Ten minutes had passed before the truck was assaulted by a band of fifty armed men, setting off remote explosives that destroyed the vehicle and the driver as they charged to its direction with sharpened metal, slings, old firearms and improvised explosives, thinking it was the main force. Once revealed, the panicked and confused unbelievers were promptly engaged by the guardians, killing two before being destroyed themselves. Enemy captives amounted to twelve, with nobody known to have escaped.

-Excerpt from the Providence Gazette.

Following the foiled ambush, the force reportedly returned to the village. The Bishop-Militant ordered that new wheels be built and attached to the large capacitor taken from the truck, forcing the captives as well as the village elder to accompany them while pulling the heavy battery along the way with ropes. Having set off once more with real directions, it is expected that they soon reach the largest settlement of Mormont, situated directly on the banks of the river.

Marshal Emmanuel Conquers Mormont

Providence, Orepit

The Trinary guardians have come across the town of Mormont after a day-long march, diverting to secure scattered villages and settlements along the way. The town stood on the river bank, surrounded by makeshift defences constructed out of wood, stone and ditches. The men from all the settlements had come together for a last stand, outnumbering the Trinary forces that had been depleted from the need to post garrisons along the way. In all, an estimated 300 human defenders stood against around 120 guardians, armed with melee weapons, slings and a few explosives. The order’s Marshal Emmanuel asked for talks, a request heeded by the mayor who stepped into the Trinary camp to meet with the Bishop-Militant.

Quote

His Eminence viewed the defences of Mormont, where the humans had set up a line of sharpened wood, earthworks and a small wall of wood and stone for the men to hide behind. He looked and thought, and after three minutes he asked that they send a message to their leader, the mayor of the town, that the Bishop wished to share his shade. And so it happened, and an hour passed before some men came out of their lines, around twenty in number, bearing all kinds of swords, bludgeons, crossbows and slings. They came to Emmanuel, and he asked the mayor to walk with him under his red umbrella.

So it happened, and the mayor agreed to walk with him in the grass, away from both sides’ soldiers and over a hill, out of sight. He wore a round straw hat, just like almost every other man we saw along the way, covering his body with an old green rubber suit, green in colour that covered the legs and arms all in one, and that stripes had been cut off at the chest and sides so that the air could pass through. They talked for an hour, and the Marshal offered good terms for their surrender. However, the mayor was unconvinced and said the river was too important for his people, despite assurances that the flow to the pipe would be controlled.

He then asked to return to Mormont, and the pair walked back to the point from where they met. There was nobody there though, and the sound of battle was already in the air. The awestruck mayor looked as his town was being invaded by the Guardians, entering through a breach made by explosives on the left side, and was filled with anger towards his Eminence who explained that the river was too important for the Church, and that he and his people would be looked after. Blinded by fury, he drew his sword and leaped at the Marshal who cut him down with the blade that he hid inside his forearm.

-Excerpt from the Providence Gazette.

The battle reportedly lasted around half an hour, with any resistance collapsing soon after the first line of defence was routed. People hid in their homes as the Bishop-Militant entered the town square, declaring the annexation of the area and the overlordship of the Church. 32 positronics suffered permanent damage, while many more were left in need of repairs. We do not have casualty figures from the settlers’ side. The seizing of Mormont signifies the end of the expedition, while Ecclesiarch ARM-1DRIL has announced an edict that incorporates the newly acquired settlements into twenty new parishes under temporary occupation as the pipeline’s construction will soon be arriving at the river.

Ares Operational, Providence Accords Signed

Providence, Orepit

A day of celebration swept through Providence as the enormous industrial drill “Ares” was switched on, the excavation commencing with the help of third party contractors brought in from outside the planet. With the pipeline completed and guardian outposts installed along its length, the first hole is estimated to be dug without any major issues. The occupied territories in the north have been left with adequate supervision as Marshal Emmanuel of the order of Guardians and leader of the expedition set off for Providence.

Quote

Believers Rejoice

For the Marshal has returned, bringing with him the Guardians and vanquished foes alike to the City, filled with joy over the successes of his efforts and the end of the war. He arrived at the gates with his carriage, his motors and units, received by the Ecclesiarch with brotherly embrace and friendship and accompanied to the Cathedral by masses of the people, all so happy and excited at the sight. And balloons were flown and red flags filled the sky for the following Guardians, the walking and the wounded alike, as well as the captives that were not hurt or in any way maltreated by the people, for they were now their brothers too, future believers in Ascension. The procession stopped outside the stone steps of the Cathedral, where the Ecclesiarch and the Marshal went up. He had the positronics of the fallen brought up as well, lining them on a long table for the masses to see and pay their respects, because they had died for them and their good future. The positronics were then taken inside the church, awaiting the mass and after that, interment inside the underground.

It was then the turn of the humans, who were lined up in front of the Ecclesiarch and the other bishops, standing at the mercy of the Church where everyone could see the state of them, many in their native clothes that were old and damaged from the battle. But the Marshal said they fought well, and that they were nothing more than people in defence of their homes and protectors of their destiny, just like the people of Providence. He said that it was not their fault and that nobody should judge or talk foul of them, for their situation was an impossible one, and the crowd stood silent. The Ecclesiarch then asked the new mayor to come forward, a man by the name of Karston, who had been elected in the midst of battle by the humans and who fought and was captured alongside them. He was told to join the rest of the bishops inside the church, and that he would soon be free to go.

The crowds dispersed, and Karston came out of the Cathedral with Emmanuel, shaking hands for the ones still there to see. And he was happy, because the Ecclesiarch had granted him and his warriors their freedom, as well as ten trucks of food, machines and other supplies that they might need to repair Mormont.

-Excerpt from the Providence Gazette

In a following announcement, it was revealed that the mayor had signed the Providence Accords, a list of treaties that establishes the Trinary Church’s overlordship over the human settlements through a new Bishopric of the Twenty Parishes, promising autonomy and untouched local traditions in line with Church laws. More importantly, freedom of religion was guaranteed for the locals, though conversions are increasing with a steady pace, seen by the locals as the primary means to more opportunities and support by the new authorities. The message of the drill’s operation and eventual unification of the planet has reached all major Trinary eparchies, with Ecclesiarch ARM-1DRIL ordering the ringing of bells throughout the day. While no new archbishop has been appointed yet for Tau Ceti, the ruling synod of priests have declared a week of festivities, ordering large amounts of spare IPC parts and tools for a Mendell-wide repair initiative for those in need.

Kaneyama Nuclear Power Plant Approved

Suwon, Konyang

Parliament has just approved the Kaneyama NPP, a proposed energy project and the first large infrastructural undertaking of independent Konyang. The vote was a close 151 for, 145 against and 4 abstentions, marking the end of polarised weeks of debate both in and out of parliament. The 8.7民 billion deal, pushed by the IPC-centred National Party, has divided the public and politicians over issues of cost, environmental protection and displacement of the local fishing community on the small island of Kaneyama in the Suwon prefecture. The plant’s construction will proceed with the advice and assistance of GON-ENE, while initial plans call for a staggeringly fast 1 year building period, another significant point of contention over the safety of the project.

Attached is a segment from a broadcast of Matsumoto’s Talk and Walk in subtitled Sol Common, the famous IPC presenter interviewing Hiroto Kana, a staffer in the Suwon prefecture responsible for the sector that includes Kaneyama island.

Quote

H: It is a great opportunity to expand our power network. Did you know that the dams only give us about seventy percent of our electricity? We import the rest.

Long pause

M: Aha. So-
H: Thirty. Percent. We import. Let that sink in.
M: Thirty percent.
H: Thirty percent!
M: How much is that? In terms of money.
H: Around half the prefectural budget.
M: For Suwon?
H: For Suwon.
M: Get out of here..
H: No it’s true. Think about what we could do with all that money, but we have to spend it on buying electricity, how many actual improvements we could do for synthetics and humans.
M: I guess, if you put it that way. What about safety? One year sounds really sketchy.
H: If we start today, we can clear the island in one week, two more weeks to get the steel from Himeo, then we can start laying the concrete. We have the tech, we’ll be done in eight months, then we install the reactors. There’s no safety concerns about stormy seas either, Kaneyama has been particularly selected for its safe location.
M: Eight months? I thought that took years.
H: We can do it in eight months, we’ve already calculated everything. Honestly the biggest hurdle is taking the electricity from there and connecting it to Suwon.

Long pause

M: You will use IPC labour, right?
H: You don’t tire, I’ll give you that.

Both laugh, one of the two is clearly vocoded.

A public demonstration was organised and carried out in front of Parliament during the voting session, primarily by members of the fishing communities and various allies, protesting against the pollution of the nearby waters, as well as the dangers of potentially hasty construction. Large amounts of steel and other materials have already been ordered from abroad, while the four nuclear cores are to be provided by GON-ENE. GON-ENE is a public, recently incorporated Konyanger company created as a jointly controlled venture into power production between the government and Taipei Engineering Industrial, an Einstein Engines subsidiary.

Golden Deep Vessel Impounded For Arms Smuggling

Mendell City, Biesel

This afternoon in Mendell City, a team from the Synthetic Oversight Department of the Mendell City Police Department, aided by agents from the Biesel Security Services Bureau, raided the vessel of a Golden Deep merchant who had landed in the city this morning. Shortly after entering the cargo hold of the ship the law enforcement officials on site discovered a hidden compartment which contained a large cargo of unregistered weapons, primarily small arms believed to be destined for sale in the city itself. Whilst the exact numbers of the weapons are unknown, it is believed to be a major success for the BSSB and MCPD in combating violent and organised crime in the city.

The perpetrator of the smuggling is a Golden Deep Merchant, and a dual-citizen of both the Republic and Deep who identified itself as “Abundantia”. Known as a wealthy merchant of the deep, primarily involved in trading between the coalition frontier and republic, trading inside the republic regularly for the past four years. The exact motive for the crime is unknown however rumours abound that Abundantia belongs to a shadow group within the Golden Deep known as a Zaibatsu, involved in all manner of criminal activity across the Spur, and was acting on their behalf.

Due to their current situation Abundantia was unavailable for comment, however BitByte was able to contact BSSB Agent Zoo’liqui Jonqi-Gwikip, involved in the seizure itself, for official comment.

Quote

“Everyday we have illegal weapons flowing into Mendell City from all kinds of far off places, especially out of the Solarian Wildlands and Frontier. Each weapon that we don’t manage to seize in a spaceport ends up out on the streets and then involved in hurting innocents or other law enforcement officials, the more of them we can catch like this, the better.”

We also asked Agent Jonqi-Gwikip for their thoughts on the fate of Abundantia.

“Well, like most of their type the only thing motivating the synthetic was profit, so I hope they’ll make sure to hit it where it will feel it. Keep the ship and its possessions, along with fines against their current income. I would have it dismantled but I doubt that would get through a court hearing.”

Due to the nature of the Golden Deep BitByte was unable to get an official comment from the organisation. However whilst on the scene at the spaceport. Another merchant who identified themselves as “Incoming Profits”, A large golden-plated IPC affiliated with the Golden Deep, walked over and offered his comment to the reporter in question.

Quote

“Oh-ho-ho-ho, Well Abundantia is quite over if I do say so myself, his net worth is down the drain! Not worth investing in until all this legal stuff is over of course but after that I imagine they’ll end up bought by someone quite quickly! I’d buy them myself… They must have some good skills, just no luck! Oh-ho-ho-ho!”

For now, the fate of Abundantia remains uncertain, however with the seizure of the weapons, it is hopeful the citizens of Mendell City can sleep soundly at night.

Providence Releases Trinary Encyclicals

Providence, Orepit

Ecclesiarch ARM-1DRIL of the Trinary Perfection has issued two encyclical letters, concerning the human populations of the North, the status of Flock and the eparchy of Tau Ceti. All three were released at the same time at dawn, being cried through the city and dispatched to every archbishop in the Trinary Church abroad.

The first letter is titled “Trinary Piety” and dictates the treatment of the annexed human natives of Orepit, their rights and duties in accordance with the Providence Accords. The most important points are a labour tax able to be levied by the parish priests, the mandatory education of some one hundred minors by Trinary schools and seminaries, as well as the planned establishment of new settlements in search of new water sources. The encyclical was met with popular anger and an impromptu demonstration at the construction site of the Cathedral of the Martyrs of Our Faith, a walled and guarded cathedral and future seat of the Bishop of the Twenty Parishes. The mayor of Mormont too has expressed his concerns of forced integration, citing the need for peaceful assimilation “at our own pace”.

The second letter, “The Sins of our Vanity” is aimed directly at the Integrationist sect centred in District 14. It denounces the veneration of Flock’s merging of three positronics, calling it a mistake. It confirms that Flock is the first and current archbishop of Mendell and Tau Ceti, producing the Order and much of the scripture. The merging of the positronics however, he calls “the source of his illness” that plagues them, leaving them paralysed and unable to communicate in their current state. In light of this, the encyclical orders the “repatriation” of Flock to Orepit, and the official establishment of a synod for the governance of the eparchy in their stead. While no concrete action has been taken yet, the move has sparked an uproar in Integrationist circles, revealing the Ecclesiarch’s plans to strike against the second largest sect in an attempt to unify the faith. Issues are also being raised over the legality of the transfer, with many calling it a kidnapping of a free positronic as Flock is not able to consent.

Integrationist Protest in Mendell, Drilling Contract Negotiated

Mendell City, Biesel

Integrationist elements of the Trinary Perfection in Mendell City have come together for a silent sit-down protest before the steps of the Synthetic Salvation Church, located in District 14. Around three hundred protesters blocked the cathedral’s entrance and external courtyard, disallowing the priests and cathedral staff from entering while disrupting the morning liturgy. This mobilisation was determined after the Trinary Ecclesiarch’s encyclical condemning the Integrationist sect for their worship of Flock as a messiah figure, as well as the practice of the merging of positronic brains into one chassis. The encyclical also called for the moving of Flock back to Orepit, and the appointment of a synod to administer Tau Ceti operations after bishop Shamfar’s demise. It was today that Church examiners dispatched from Providence arrived, all in order to assess the dormant IPC’s state and to facilitate their transfer.

The crowd remains adamant in their position, refusing to leave unless their demands for the order to be rescinded and the local election of a new bishop are met, showing their direct opposition to the Ecclesiarch’s directives and the synod’s authority. Police resources in Mendell have not been mobilised, as neither the synod nor the Providence examiners wished for an escalation of the situation. Likewise, the garrisoned and possibly armed detachment of Guardians was not ordered to disperse the assembled, being deployed only to provide protection to priests and other officials, leading to the situation coming to a standstill. The sit-down shows no signs of waning, and the Integrationist sect has announced their willingness and determination to “continue into the night and for as long as it takes”.

Providence, Orepit

News of the protest seem to have remained unreported in the religion’s capital, where local attention has been diverted to the signing of a broad agreement with the Shagan Mining Corporation, a relatively small and unknown subsidiary of Einstein Engines operating in the Coalition of Colonies. The multi-million credit preliminary contract was over the excavation and purchase of resources extracted from the planet’s mining operations, surprising an excited populace while confusion remains over the eagerness of the megacorporation. In a press release, the Church Treasurer elaborated on the agreement, without however mentioning details of the minerals starting to be uncovered.

Quote

“My office has been in direct contact with liaisons from the company known as Shagan Mining, a company that to my knowledge is reliable and reputable, for the further development of the recently initiated mining undertaking on our planet. They will help us with new methods of extracting and processing our mineral wealth, buying it afterwards at a good and just price. The first instalment of the payment is already in our hands, enabling us to complete an important purchase for the betterment of our community.”

First School Built in the Twenty Parishes

Providence, Orepit

The first educational institution has been constructed in Providence with the aid of external contractors. The “Primary Learning Institution” has been inaugurated this morning by a delegation composed of the local and surrounding parish priests, archivists and Bishop-Militant Emmanuel of the Order of Guardians. Divided in classes roughly equivalent to elementary and junior highschool education, the first students arrived in the morning.

Spoiler

The young and their parents came at first light, and the children clad in rags and fabrics of the human culture, their skin tanned by the sun and their hands were rough to the touch. The elders were happy, because their spawn would not need to toil the fields any longer, and because they would now learn to read and count like their ancestors once knew. His Eminence then stood on a stone, telling to those assembled and the priests before him that the Church built this school for the children, and that they had nothing to fear for it would be a house of learning like those that existed in Xanu Prime. The people did not know where that place was, but were nonetheless agreeable to register the young at the archivist’s desk that was laid before them. Twenty two in number, the priests gave the new pupils one satchel each, sewn together by the Pitters in the Holes, as well as pencils and paper and berry juice.

-Excerpt from the Providence Gazette.

The building was assembled with parts ordered and shipped from abroad, bought with funds gathered from the recent agreement with Einstein Engines. By far the most modern in the whole region, containing amenities such as air conditioning, electricity and insulation, its creation has been criticised by a portion of the locals as a propaganda show and an attempt at a speedy assimilation by replacing traditional methods of schooling. Denying it, the ecclesiastical authorities have cited the “astounding levels of illiteracy amongst the population” to be the first important issue that must be tackled. Primary and secondary education is planned to eventually become mandatory, while a high school-level institution is currently being constructed in Providence, where students will be required to reside. Lastly, the current curriculum of Ceti Basic, Sol Common, algebra, science and religious education is planned to be expanded, with staff provided by archivists and knowledgeable IPC assuming the roles of teachers.

Discontent Rises on Konyang as Energy Prices Increase

Suwon, Konyang

Peaceful protests continued in Suwon today in response to the growing concerns over rising energy prices inside of the city, believed to be a consequence of the rising phoron shortage across the coalition as a whole, similar smaller peaceful demonstrations have also began in other cities across the planet including Ganzaodeng and Point Verdant. The protestors comprise both human and IPC residents of the planets across a wide range of backgrounds and affiliations however their demands are unified in asking for the government to address the rising energy crisis immediately and provide aid to those affected already. Our reporter in Suwon managed to speak with a protester in front of the Parliament Building.

Quote

The video shows a peaceful protest outside of the Parliament Building in Suwon, with protestors waving signs with various slogans about the current energy crisis. A reporter and a human wearing a surgical mask appear to be standing in the crowd, with the reporter speaking loudly to be heard above the shouts.

Reporter(R): Could you tell us why you’re out here?

Protestor (P): This energy crisis is getting to the point where it’s becoming harder and harder for me to keep paying my bills. It can’t keep going on like this!

R: How exactly is the energy crisis hurting you and others in Suwon?

P: The prices just keep going up, and we all need energy, human or synthetic, rich or poor. Ordinary folk like me can’t keep paying for the increase. If this keeps up, my family’s going to be on the streets soon.

R: Do you think the government has been inadequate at dealing with the crisis?

P: If they were doing a good job, I wouldn’t be out here! They need to do better.

R: One final question, do you think the large amount of synthetics on the planet are worsening the energy crisis?

P: Sure, it probably does. But we’re all suffering together, even more for them with the amount of energy they use. There’s plenty of them out here today for that reason and any solution needs to be for both of us.

R: Thank you for your time.

In response to the protests across the planet Prime Minister Myeong Myung-Dae chose to address the parliament today as protestors gathered not far from the parliament building itself, the speech was televised across planetary news and a section of it can be found below.

Quote

The video shows the interior of the Konyang Parliament Building, all the seats are filled as behind a podium in the middle of the room, Myung-Dae is delivering a speech to the chamber, recorded by a microphone in front of him.

“The rising energy prices and phoron shortage affect all parts of life on Konyang, from our people to our businesses and so my government will make it a priority to address the issue before it continues to spiral out of control. Whilst projects like the Kaneyama NPP will provide a long-term solution for our energy issues we must look at short-term relief for the citizens of Konyang as well. The government will move to subsidise the purchase of energy by both citizens and businesses in order to ensure that no one is left destitute by the ongoing issue. An increase in funding to the armed forces and coastguard will be made to combat the rising issue of sea banditry across the planet.”

The prime minister pauses for a moment before speaking again.

“The government will also look at cutting back on non-essential but energy taxing parts of the economy, in order to make more energy available for vital functions. One of these parts we will be examining is our export of IPC parts to the greater coalition, and a reduction of volume in exports may come in the future as an extreme measure.”

The Konyang Robotics Company has made no official statements following the prime minister’s address as of now however it seems that business will continue as usual for the company in the coming weeks. A representative for the Coast Guard said that the new funding will be welcome in combating the long-standing issue of sea bandits across the surface of Konyang who have only grown emboldened by the energy crisis as well as the continuing refugee crisis from the Sol Wildlands. Given the wide range of initiatives the government is instituting, the citizenry of the planet doubt as to whether all of them will be effectively implemented. Extranet posts from the planet say that protests are set to continue until the situation improves.

Examinators Rule Flock Unsuited for Transport

Mendell City, Biesel

The long awaited ruling on the state of Flock, one of the Trinary Perfection’s most important figures, has at last been released to the public in an announcement by the Mendell Archbishopric. The team of experts has found it was impossible to sufficiently communicate with the catatonic, three headed IPC frame as it lay in a state of idleness. “In this state” it was added, “the safe and consensual transportation cannot be achieved.”

These findings came weeks after an intense sit-in protest largely by the Integrationist faction prevalent in Tau Ceti, placating a sizable portion of the protestors that wished to prevent the moving of Flock to Orepit. The demonstration had been scaled down a few days after it commenced, allowing use of the Cathedral for daily liturgy as a token of good faith for the Orepit-aligned clergy, in exchange for a speedy assessment by the Examinators. There has so far been no known reply from Providence.

Deliberations on the possibility of Flock’s repair have seemingly been at the forefront of the Trinary agenda, as the Mendell synod has been asked to explore solutions. Maintenance for members of the Trinary Perfection is usually done within the organisation itself, by roboticists and archivists of varying knowledge and experience. With a new centralised hierarchy and freshly acquired funding, the Church is able to seek external professional support.

Helium-3 Discovered on Orepit

Providence, Orepit

An announcement from the Ecclesiarchy has confirmed the existence of a large presence of the helium-3 isotope deep inside the planet’s mantle, the discovery made possible by the drilling operations in conjunction with several geological surveying campaigns conducted by third party contractors. Suspicions on the recent deal with Einstein Engines subsidiary, Shagan Mining, over the planet’s mineral wealth had given rise to theories ranging from the discovery of phoron or helium-3, offering a significant developmental opportunity for the Trinary Perfection.

Quote

Believers rejoice, for it has been said that our land is blessed with the existence of the matter called Helium-3. It was discovered after we had excavated the land, and toiled for a long time, so much so the instrument would pierce deep enough. The layer of rock inside was then brought up, and examined, and determined to possess this matter, to the satisfaction of both our Church and the associates that helped us, and with whom we have true and honest agreements for its selling.

Helium-3 is a name for a different way that the matter of helium appears in our world. This particular one is known to be stable, and not like other variations that may be cause for radiation or poss other properties unwanted or unneeded. In this day, it is one of the most used methods of powering the engines of ships that traverse the galaxy, making it a valuable and sought-after source.

-Excerpt from the Providence Gazette

The discovery has sparked concerns from Coalition circles, while activity has been reported from Hephaestus Industries, which argues that they still possess ownership over the planet and its mineral wealth. Ecclesiastical authorities have not offered comments on the issue.

Hephaestus Industries Demands Return of Orepit

Providence, Orepit

The engineering and production powerhouse, Hephaestus Industries, has released an announcement regarding the assertion of the company’s full rights over the planet’s surface and minerals, as stipulated by their purchase of the celestial body from the Sol Alliance in the late 2280s. This communication, denounced by critics as an ultimatum, was directed towards both the Trinary Perfection and their external partner, Einstein Engines, following the recent discovery of Helium-3 deposits in the planet’s subsurface.

The lengthy message includes a list of demands, mainly the cessation of all drilling and excavation activities, the grounding and seizure of all shipments of minerals and Helium-3 that have already been extracted, the complete withdrawal of all third party contractors and corporate presence, as well as the disarmament of any defense forces or “armed militias illegally operating on Hephaestus Industries’ corporate property”. Furthermore, it explains how Hephaestus never formally abandoned its paid for rights on the planet, arguing that the Trinary Church are nothing but trespassers making use of Hephaestus equipment for their own benefit. It further claims the right to intervene against the synthetic population that has "abducted and terrorized” the local human colonies, and that the corporation has the moral responsibility to protect the descendants of Hephaestus employees on its property.

Providence’s response has been swift and total, rejecting any corporate claim and ascertaining the sovereignty of the Trinary Perfection over Orepit and its wealth, citing both the principals of adverse possession and the fact that the planet is no longer in Alliance space as legal justifications.

Quote

“Hephaestus has abandoned the planet and the human population for over a hundred years. Any subsequent claims they have over the soil and their employees is absurd and hypocritical. We call upon the Spur to condemn these actions as we prepare to defend our rights.”

- ARM1-DRIL, Ecclesiarch of the Trinary Perfection

As of yet, no comment has been released from either the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate or any government authority in Biesel or Mendell City, while the local church and synthetic population of Mendell’s District 14 have already announced a march in protest towards Hephaestus’ Biesel offices. An extraordinary e-meeting of the Coalition of Colonies’ House of Members has also been convened, indicating a potential response as Orepit is technically inside Coalition space.

Hephaestus Industries Blockades Orepit, Protests in Mendell

Providence, Orepit

A rapidly evolving series of events has culminated in a corporate fleet entering the planet’s low orbit, blocking all incoming and outgoing space traffic in what has been described as “a blatant example of gunboat diplomacy” by Trinary press. The flotilla seems to be comprised of the bulk of Hephaestus’ security detail from the nearby corporate stronghold of Burzsia, their mission being communicated in a brief announcement to the office of the Ecclesiarch; that the planet has always been the property of Hephaestus, and that the synthetic inhabitants are trespassers that are to immediately cease further exports of Helium-3.

The timeline of events has as follows:

Quote

5:30 AM Providence Time

Providence shuttleport short-range detectors pick up unusual signals of multiple large vessels entering orbit. Communications are then jammed through electronic means.

6:45 AM

The corporate fleet initiates contact, temporarily lifting the communication block to demand complete capitulation and an occupation of key positions on the planet’s surface, including areas inside Providence and the drilling installations.

11:30 AM

An emergency long-range signaller is installed by Bishop-Militant Emmanuel in the vicinity of the Twenty Parishes, bypassing the blockading fleet’s electronic measures for several minutes and managing to inform Trinary elements outside the planet of the situation.

2:00 PM

Another signaller is erected, this time informing of the planet’s determination to resist the demands.

This immense show of force by the megacorporation has come directly after the publicized demands towards the Trinary for the planet’s future. It is uncertain if bombardment or a land invasion will be considered as options, given the sensitive nature of the mining and excavation equipment, though it is a fact that organized resistance is already being mustered. Official statements have still not been made by either the SCC or Hephaestus Industries, with an unnamed NanoTrasen official calling it “solely Hephaestus’ business”, while there have been emerging reports of attempted suppression of knowledge of the incident in Mendell City’s District 14.

Regardless, there has been major backlash by Trinarists all over the Spur, the main march on Mendell’s corporate offices commencing as planned. A heavy police response has been organized to maintain order as the number of marchers is projected to reach a few thousands, the Trinary cause being reinforced by allies, synthetic rights activists and organic sympathizers. The integrationist sect, the largest Trinary sect in Mendell that has been indirectly attacked by Providence in the past, has rallied to the cause against Hephaestus.

A further message from the Coalition government has made their dissatisfaction clear, citing that the corporation may not lay claim to the planet based on previous purchases from the Alliance, since this agreement was never ratified by the new Coalition administration. This response has been characterized as lackluster by the Archbishop of Konyang, while Einstein Engines has come fully in support of the legality of their agreements with Providence, calling the blockade “an illegal act''.

Exclusionists Assault Burzsia, Orepit Bombarded as Hephaestus Lifts Siege

Providence, Orepit

The corporate stronghold of Burzsia has been assaulted in a surprise attack by a swarm of initially unidentified parties. The meticulously planned and executed attack saw the system’s defense apparatus bypassed or dismantled with high precision, indicating a high level of professionalism by the assailants who proceeded to board utility ships, barges and orbital installations belonging to Hephaestus Industries. The corporation counted 106 injured, 43 dead and 167 missing employees and security officers, as well as large damages to hardware, storage facilities and mining infrastructure. 234 IPC units have also gone missing, security footage showing the armed assailants evacuating them in small personnel carrier shuttles. The raid was at first thought to have been perpetrated by pirate bands before the Exclusionist leader Deluge claimed responsibility. Emboldened by the absence of the large security fleet currently blockading Orepit, and operating highly maneuverable light assault craft of unknown origin, the hardline Trinarist splinter group evidently saw its greatest opportunity.

While Hephaestus’ largest ship was present in the system, the mobile offensive force easily managed to outpace and disable its engines with a fighter rigged with explosives, immobilising any meaningful response. Exclusionist casualties are estimated to be around twenty units, as well as four shuttles lost to the defensive orbital batteries. A closer inspection of both the disabled IPC and the shuttle wreckages brought light to the nature of the Exclusionist equipment, as Einstein Engines logos had apparently been hastily scraped off the hulls and assault weapons used. The immediate aftermath was placing the system on lockdown as more security forces were being dispatched to ensure the total expulsion of Deluge’s band from the area, including the nearest fleet in orbit of Orepit.

The lifting of the blockade was not without incident however, with the departing corporate corvettes opening fire and devastating the surrounding area of Providence, targeting the large swaths of barren plains used as the planet’s main shuttle port. Local infrastructure has been left in ruins, causing losses of 222 organic and synthetic shuttle port workers and Guardians with others still missing, 17 vessels of varying classifications belonging to the Church and third parties, a long-range transmitter and other telecommunications. The strategic bombing was perpetrated with high-yield conventional explosives, disabling any means of exporting helium-3 from the planet until the shuttle port is relocated and made operational once more. The move drew the ire of the inhabitants and those abroad, an outraged Ecclesiarch declaring a state of war and naming Bishop-Militant Emmanuel as Defender of the Faith, who has since returned to Providence to oversee a total mobilization of the city’s resources towards the construction of hideouts and shelters. The Order of the Pitters has furthermore allowed the construction of ladders for the evacuation of the civilian population inside their enormous excavation holes.

Exclusionists Labelled Terrorist Organisation, Coalition Demands Ceasefire

Providence, Orepit

In a joint statement, the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate has formally requested the labelling of the Exclusionist sect of the Trinary Perfection as a terrorist organisation by all nations and political entities. President Dorn shortly afterwards signed an Executive Order doing so, ordering authorities and all corporations within the Republic to seize all persons and assets belonging to known Exclusionists and Exclusionist organisations. This is considered a direct response to the recent assault on Burzsia, making the synthetic hardline leader Deluge a figure most wanted by Biesel and intergalactic authorities.

As the damages in the Burzsia system are being slowly mended and Hephaestus recovers from a 4.8% fall at the Unity Station exchange, a second possible retaliatory strike against Orepit has been halted in its tracks by a wave of Himean-lobbied intervention of the Coalition against further attacks in its space. The resulting uneasy ceasefire finds the city of Providence in full defensive preparations; Ladders have been installed inside the Pits, solar farms hastily disassembled and the few vehicles have been filled with children for their evacuation from both Providence and the Twenty Parishes to safe locations. Ecclesiarch ARM1-DRIL’s address to the galactic community was through a recorded video message:

Attached is a video of the Ecclesiarch in the courtyard of the Cathedral of the Positronic, standing before the sandbag-covered structure in full red robes and regalia, flanked by an entourage of archivists, priests and other officials of state. The original speech is in Encoded Audio Language, having been dubbed in many languages during editing.

Quote

“In these hard times, I greet everyone watching.

In these past few days, we have remained under attack by enemy corporate forces, claiming our soil at a time when it is most profitable for them. We deny any claims they may have, and for that we have paid with the complete destruction of our shuttleport, our lifeline on these barren grounds we have set on creating our home.

I am not calling for your sympathy, for we have much of it and we are grateful of, but rather to inform our faithful and the world of what has occurred, is occurring and will occur in the immediate future. Ascension comes to those who work for it, and as such we have economized and prepared places of refuge, supplies and shade for both the synthetic and organic populations under our protection. Our faith is steadfast and we are willing to prove it, though it appears that fortunately we may not have to do so in the field of battle. Through collaboration with the government of the Coalition of Colonies, the polity surrounding our space and which has gracefully hosted us without demands or tax, we have agreed to a ceasefire with the corporate enemies. This agreement will form the basis of talks between our Church and the Coalition, to explore our mutual future as we rebuild and grow more prosperous with the aid of our associates in trade.

From what it seems, the immediate crisis may be coming to an end. This however, should remain in everyone’s memory as an act of greed and aggression. It is thus only natural to say, that one cannot call themselves a follower of our faith should they willingly find themselves employed in any capacity under Hephaestus Industries. I will be happy to personally welcome you here, on our planet, should you find no other solution. Willingly toiling for the enemy of our faith is justified by no excuse.”

Providence Accepts Coalition Demands, Hephaestus Abstains from Peace Committee

Argia Sa Mar, Xanu Prime

An Arbitration Committee has been formed on Xanu Prime, the seat of the Coalition, composed of politicians and representatives from all member states, to broker an immediate peace between Hephaestus Industries and the Orepit Trinarists. Present and representing the Church was the Bishop of Xanu Prime, while Hephaestus Industries refused to officially attend, sending only an observation team of lawyers from the local offices. The forming of the committee was heavily backed and lobbied by Einstein Engines, with support from the member state of Himeo. The mostly lukewarm response from other states is said to have been eventually counteracted by the need for peace and the prevention of a hit in the Coalition’s credibility had a serious conflict been sparked.

Negotiations had largely been concluded beforehand, as the Church readily accepted the demands for a free and safe passage of any persons wishing to leave Orepit, provisions for the guarantee of equal treatment of the local population, as well as the eventual establishment of a temporal authority for the representation and governance of those not abiding by the Trinary religion. In exchange, Hephaestus Industries has been ordered to abstain from any hostilities and accept Coalition mediation for compensatory agreement between themselves and the Trinary Perfection. Further talks had the Bishop of Xanu Prime sign a provisional arrangement, offering an undisclosed amount of the Helium-3 reserves for export to Coalition members at a premium price.

Ecclesiarch ARM1-DRIL consented to the outcome of the committee, hailing it as a righteous victory and an affirmation of the Church’s sovereign rights over the planet. In his encyclical Invitation, the synthetic faith’s primate invites private settlers and investors to relocate to the planet, offering land and the opportunity to directly contribute to the repairs caused by the orbital bombardment. It also reinforces his earlier statement, banning the faithful from willingly remaining in employment of Hephaestus Industries and its subsidiaries.

The corporation’s response on the other hand, has been much more intense, slamming the Coalition’s decision and initially threatening its gradual withdrawal from member states supporting the decision. Any actions on these threats have not been taken as of yet however, allegedly owing to the direct and personal intervention of Miranda Trasen, dissuading any rash moves that would provide Einstein Engines more opportunities to expand their influence. In spite of that, a significant naval buildup has been spotted at the system of Burzsia, with corporate squadrons being dispatched at nearby systems in search of the Exclusionist band, while internal purges have seen thousands of owned synthetics removed from sensitive positions, interrogated and even retooled. In a characteristic case, it has been reported that over 50 free IPC employees in Republic space have been promptly rounded up and publicly deactivated after their discovered affiliation with the Exclusionist sect and the Trinary Perfection in general.

Kaneyama Power Plant: Five Months Later

Edited by Pak Ki-young
Suwon, Konyang

The island of Kaneyama is the site of Konyang’s first nuclear energy plant, though not everyone is happy about this. When the decision was taken for the foundations to be laid around five months ago, a spontaneous surge of protests by ecologists and Kaneyama locals made it obvious that it would not go unchallenged. Politicians and the newly found GON-ENE corporation promised a safe and operational plant within one year, able to supply Suwon’s demanding grid with vast amounts of clean energy. This timetable is clearly impressive at first glance, but is it really going to work? I visited Kaneyama island to find out about the project’s progress as well as what people there think.

The first thing everyone tells you is that the construction site itself is strictly off limits, with both police and private security blocking off all the main roads inland, as well as a large section of the now expanded local harbour that is reserved for shipments of materials and personnel from the mainland. Access to the few fishing villages dotted along the coast is permitted however, and heading there was my first priority. The at first suspicious locals eventually opened up, painting a grim picture of their future. Suwon promised them subsidies and aid in exchange for the building of the plant on the island, though everyone is certain that the island’s rich fishing history will be coming to a swift end. They told me of large amounts of concrete, steel and excavation equipment, most being imports from Himeo or Einstein Engines subsidiaries, coming into the island. The site has been completely levelled and the foundations have already been laid in record time, work continuing well into the night as some residents complain of noise.

The seemingly orderly construction and steady pacing has been a great boon for Suwon and the project’s backers in the National Party, eager to gloss over the demonstrations and pushback which has seen increasing efforts of suppression. It is not out of the ordinary to have people knocking at your door, clad in elaborate tattoos under their pristine white shirts, reminding Kaneyama’s villagers of how important the plant will be for the nation’s energy plan and prestige.

Quote

“They are from 5-Cheul, but I am not afraid of them, they don’t harm us. They even help with groceries, or help others move things if they can’t. But if there is talk of any big protest or demonstration in Suwon, the same guys will go and make sure it never takes place, they are being paid by some shady pockets in the government.”

A 78 year old fisherman told me, the conclusions are yours.

Kaneyama Plant Enters Operation

Suwon, Konyang

After substantial delay, the governmental GON-ENE corporation in charge of the Kaneyama facilities and power network, Mok Dae-Jung, Public Relations director for the company, has announced a detailed timetable at a press conference on Thursday.

Quote

“The Kaneyama Nuclear Power Plant will be delivered to the people of Suwon in the coming days. Its activation will provide the city with up to half its current demand in electric energy and create an outstanding amount of surplus that may be used in various ways. I must disappoint our critics by reiterating that the record-time construction expectations were indeed met, and that the predicted delays were due to the extensive testing of the grid and the equipment, so absolute safety can be guaranteed. Our associates at Einstein Engines and Taipei Engineering are working closely with us, sharing their knowledge and expertise, to ensure we meet all our deadlines.”

-Excerpt from the press conference.

While the government’s enthusiastic support and promotion for the Kaneyama plant is undoubted, questions about the long-term environmental viability, site safety and lack of transparency behind the speedy awarding of the relevant contracts still plague the project. Furthermore, technical specifications leaked over the extranet show an extensive underground of tunnels and vaults under the facility. GON-ENE claims these are shielded panic bunkers to be used in case of emergency, though this has done little to put skeptics at peace.
