DatSamTho Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 The first responder is possibly the role with the most amount of gear that they (should) carry, especially with the amount of medical items growing over the years. I think it would be beneficial, to increase the size of the medical backpack to that of a duffel bag, as the sprite for it already shows it to be quite large, it could also be neat to perhaps remove the duffel bag speed buff for it, in that case.
Lordnesh Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 I don't see the need for this personally. I can comfortably fit an advanced first aid kit, oxy kit, two stretchers, a stasis bad, body bag, and a few other odds and ends. Oh, and an auto-compressor now. If you're having inventory issues, maybe try cutting down on the gear you carry around? If I wanted to I could cut out the kits, and put some of the items on my belt, making some more space.
Carver Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Giving first responders an antag-grade backpack (that is, duffel with no speed loss) would start to raise questions on why such efficient and ergonomic backpacks that would cost nothing to produce aren't ubiquitous.
Chen Yakumo Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 As a first responder "main" myself I'm actually quite opposed to this. I've found I can carry a full compliment of medicine that I may need to treat someone in the field, as well as multiple ATK and ABKs, and still have room for flavor items/convenience items, without even beginning to use the backpack. In fact, I frequently only carry a medkit if I end up using the rescue rig. Inventory management has become less and less of an issue over time. If you're having trouble managing your inventory as a First Responder, I highly recommend giving a look over your equipment and seeing what you can prune out. You don't really need two whole roller beds when you can only reasonably transport one patient.
Lordnesh Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 Yes. And drop-pouches and webbing. As well as various rigs for the suit slot that have two additional inventory slots. If you want to be a real gamer you use a wrist comp for your PDA and add a wallet to your loadout. It can store small things like patient scans and auto-injectors.
