MrGodZilla Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Medical intern is the "trainer" role for medical, but medical has three different roles that encompass three different parts of medical and most interns will typically focus on learning that one occupation. Pretty much every shift we have a new intern the question comes up, "Hey intern, what are you studying to be?" It'd be neat to let interns have alt titles that very visibly shows what role they want to train for so medical staff proper immediately have a good idea of what they need to teach the intern. I don't have exact ideas for what these alt titles should be but "Surgical Resident," "Physician Resident," or "First Responder Trainee" come to mind as very obvious indicators of what job the individual is training for. I don't know if these job titles are medically accurate but I'm open to suggestions.
KingOfThePing Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 I agree. It makes not much sense to always have to ask someone what his field of study is.
Faye <3 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 i would support and like this as long as the titles did not separate what the intern can do. a surgical resident still needs to learn their chems and stuff like a physician b/c they're needed in the ORs
Scheveningen Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 i think this is the only reasonable use for alt titles

greenjoe Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 I could imagine engineer trainee getting an atmospherics trainee alt title and sec? Maybe investgation cadet?
KingOfThePing Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Initial suggestion implemented here: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/15061

The latter could be useful for those investigators taking the cadetship to gain the authority to arrest, though I don't think actual rookie cadets are meant to become investigators, there's a fairly big divide between officers and investigators.
Fluffy Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 PR has been merged, therefore this suggestion about medical interns alt titles is considered implemented. Locking and archiving.
