La Villa Strangiato
BYOND key: lavillastrangiato Discord Username: la villa strangiato#9723 Character names: Rei Patel, Adelaide Hawk, Pala, Gabriela Jacinto, IRU-Hesse, Sesurka Sskedi How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Since September 2022. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?: I have been bwoinked once or twice for minor stuff but I have no warnings. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: A head of staff has several OOC purposes. For one, they ensure that the captain and executive officer don't have to overextend or micromanage all of the departments, and that their underlings don't have to pester the captain and executive officer by being a liason between their department and command. They should also know their department well enough so that they can guide not just new players, but experienced members who need a helping hand in matters. A member of command is not only a leader, but a delegator; they are not the ultimate cop, doctor, box pusher, or engineer, but rather someone who knows what should be done and who should be doing it. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: A head of staff is held to a higher standard of roleplay than others, simply because of the importance of their jobs. A command character should be a fully-realised character that strives to make the rounds of other characters better, not worse, and the onus is especially on a head of staff to facilitate roleplay, particularly when it comes to giving antagonists leeway. When you play a head of staff, you volunteer to help the characters of others ~blossom~, and guide roleplay to an acceptable (and fun!) standard. Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon: Life on Moghes has modernised rapidly; the Izweski Hegemony has made contact with several human megacorporations and other aliens, eager to expand Unathi influence across the galaxy. In years past, the conflict between progress and tradition escalated to nuclear levels, with the faction of Traditionalists being soundly defeated by the Hegemony and their allies, though an isolationist sentiment lingers. Sralza Kassak and Sesurka Sskedi's friends and family were on the opposites of this conflict, with clan Sskedi firmly siding with the Traditionalists and clinging to the ideology long after the war was over. Clan Kassak, on the other hand, was excited to ally with the Hegemony and recommend the children of their clan to study, so that they might eventually gain positions of power within the megacorporations. While it was expected Sralza would eventually become a doctor, Sesurka's departure from her clan was unexpected and taken with bitterness by her family. After Sralza worked on several NanoTrasen vessels over the years, and Sesurka worked as a miner and hangar technician with Hephaestus, both ended up on the Horizon. Meanwhile, in Sol space, the Collapse shattered Zelda Zamora's worldview. Violet Dawn had changed her once-strong faith in her government and authority, and her comfortable job as a first officer on a Zavodskoi shipping vessel was suddenly at risk after the Collapse. Uneasy, and desperately hoping for a way to feel useful in the rising unrest around the energy crisis, Zelda cashed in her goodwill with the company to board the Horizon and leave her dying nation behind. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?: Operations manager, executive officer, chief medical officer, and corporate liaison. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?: Yes. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Zelda Zamora, Executive Officer: A Jintarian Venusian woman, formerly an employee of NanoTrasen prior to the Collapse, she struggles with a sudden loss of faith in her previous patriotism and a work environment far more diverse than she is used to. Sralza Kassak, Chief Medical Officer: The eldest daughter from a noble family, Sralza was always keen to be a healer. With Clan Kassak always having been on the side of the Izweski Hegemony, it was only natural that she should take up employment with NanoTrasen, and after a great many years battling sexism and xenophobia alike, work her way up to Chief Medical Officer. Sesurka Sskedi, Operations Manager: Sskedi has long pushed for a promotion while working for Hephaestus, in the hopes that the money she earns could go towards her family and clan; a promotion may be just what she needs to return to her family with dignity. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?: Yes. Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums?: Yes. Extra notes: I probably won't promote Sskedi immediately but I would like to have her be OM eventually if my whitelist passes muster. Hepatica
I've interacted with every one of Strangiato's characters, and each bring their own uniqueness to the round. Their standard of roleplay has been excellent ever since I've known them, and as far as I'm concerned, they have a great understanding both of what is expected from the crew, across several departments, and what is expected from antags. I believe this knowledge will allow them to peform exceptionally as a member of Command, and that allowing them a trial will only proof that as fact. +1 1 Link to comment
Vulcenus
+1 solid roleplayer, i think it'll carry well into command roles along with their levelheadedness ill probably have more to say when they're on trial 1 Link to comment
RustingWithYou
I've roleplayed with lavilla a fair bit, and interacted with most of their characters to varying degrees. I think they're a good roleplayer who plays generally interesting characters, and that they'd make the best of a command whitelist. Enthusiastic +1 from me. 1 Link to comment
UponASeaOfStars
The kind of player we need more of in command positions - someone approachable and knowledgeable. Strangiato brings a sense of stability to the rounds I've seen them in, and I don't have any doubts whatsoever about their capacity as a head of staff. +1 1 Link to comment

lilahnovi
So, the last round (Morph Blob Aelia) La Villa actually showed that she could take charge in a difficult situation. As the chemist, CMO dead, Aelia dead, and surgeon trying to drink his suffering away, Rei basically became the medical leader and worked to save people after folks were being shot/attacked, as well as forced the surgeon to sober up so he could do surgery safely. In general, La Villa plays a lot of different folks and they are all very good and different! Love that for her. +1 1 Link to comment

Hepatica
I got to interact with Strangiato's XO, who went out of their way to roleplay with not just me, but many others even outside of their own department. She was enjoyable to interact with and aided greatly in the enjoyment of the round, working alongside other command members to bring about one of the most fun mercenary rounds I've been apart of in a long time. No doubt in my mind, +1, she's been a great fit in command so far. 1 Link to comment

LordPwner
It's probably going to be accepted anyway, but lavillastrangiato peanut is a great RPer, with differing characters that are interesting and fun to interact with. As an XO they've done nothing but impress imo and have suffered under my poor BC play 😜 I think they'd be a great addition to Command 1 Link to comment
