ReadThisNamePlz Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 I am considering making a vending machine that dispenses the current Armory ammunition and some additional tools. Teargas, Flashbangs, cuffs - maybe a pair of zipties or two, etc. What is everyone's thoughts? Every item of ammunition will be dispensable from it. .45, 9mm, 5.56 polymer, shells, etc. I am also considering making a second one that will hold the non-lethal items only. Thoughts?
Happy_Fox Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 (edited) I like this but only if security officers have to buy their own ammo from it (encourages accuracy) Edited February 28, 2023 by Happy_Fox
GeneralCamo Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Vending machines will cause a bottleneck when attempting to quickly get equipment, as they allow only one person at a time. I do not recommend this replacing the closets in the armory.

CampinKiller Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 My main concern is with the speed of being able to dispense ammo when arming officers, as well as security's ammo being locked behind power requirements. If there is no power, and security has no ammo in the armory, then they are severely handicapped. 1
Dreamix Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 (edited) Dunno. At first I thought it'd be alright, but after some more thinking, yeah. Power going out - no ammo. Also crowding. Also ammo/gear being in just one (or two) vendors makes it a ton easier to just steal it all, I guess. And, like, dunno, I think I like the aesthetics of lockers and racks more. You can see how filled they are from across the room (if they're open), etc. I associate vending machines more with the, uh, snacks and soda cans and etc, than ammunition. White Void Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 True, if it is a vendor it means the id restriction can be hacked to vend to anyone. And as for the power not even a generator would suffice since the room wiring is connected to the rest of the department so if you try to power the vendor the generator will struggle with the entire department and will probably never give enough power to turn on the vendor. Besides i don't think we need more space on the armoury to warrant it
