Codename: Bear
BYOND key: Codename_Bear Discord Username: cactusbearoh5010 Character names: (My main 3) Matsuo Tatsuya Kuiruzi Ram'za Marty McCullin How long have you been playing on Aurora? I started in 2016, but have taken several breaks here and there. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I did receive a warning in 2020, but it was expunged in this thread: https://forums.aurorastation.org/topic/14608-staff-complaint-warning-wording-witchbells/#comment-138218 . Despite it being expunged I do understand that actions have consequences and have stopped even attempting to get into the funny hehe drug trade, except if I get antag or something. My previous ckey was: AllyBearsley and I do not believe I had any warnings, but I did receive some notes on that account. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame? They are to add a bit of order, fun, and additional knowledge to their department. Our server is more controlled than many, but there is still a level of chaos that happens when there is nobody overseeing. I want to make it clear: I do mean order, not "NO FUN ALLOWED". This goes into fun: being a member of Command means you are allowed to give tasks and additional roleplay to members of your department that others may not think or may not think they are allowed to do without a member of command on their side. Lastly, you can help teach newbies something as well as learn from others in a new way. An example in the Ops department of a new way of learning is let’s say a machinist wants some material, I think it’s a bad idea but ask them why they want it, and in their explanation, I now learn something new about the machinist role and the usefulness of a material. Command is more about being a person in charge, not a know-it-all genius. The worst kind of Command would be someone acting like they know everything about everything. Even if you OOCly know the entire department inside and out, your Command character should not. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them? You are expected to be someone that people who have questions can come to and ask. Whether those questions be about mechanics or just ideas to make the department more fun, interesting, or better. As a member of Command you have a bit more weight to get things done. I naturally do not mean drastic changes, but like general ideas. Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon. A lot has changed since I last played on Aurora. In fact, we're no longer on the Aurora II. I'll be honest, I'm still catching up with things. Right now for this particular character most of the news articles don't directly affect him. However, something that happened right after I began a multi-year hiatus was the Violet Dawn Explosion on Mars. My character was born on a Non-Coalition Homeworld to two Solarians who moved out there to get away from the Sol Alliance (and because his father was a gambler). His father is Lunan, and his mother was Martian. His mother went missing in the explosion. He held out hope for years, but her body was recently recovered, and he is still dealing with the grief. This ongoing IPC issue on Konyang will have him interested as he has met several IPCs over the years he would consider friends. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? The primary two I want are Operations Manager and Executive Officer. When I started making this application I rarely saw an Ops Manager online, but that hs recently changed and I am pretty happy to see it. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes, I have, but I won't pretend I would ace a test on them. I usually play with the Wikis open to refer to things as needed, no matter the job. Yes, I have the janitor wiki open … most of the time. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Francis Martonis - Operations Manager Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? I understand this decision. Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums? Yes. Extra notes: Once a cargonian, always a cargonian. Link to comment
Lexiconics
As the player of Kadiev Ram'za, I am obligated by marital bond to give this a +1. I am also obligated to give due credit to Codename Bear's high-quality and engaging roleplay, his willingness to engage with other characters and their stories, and his consideration of other players' enjoyment of the game. For these reasons, I think CB is worth considering for a command whitelist, and I'll also be glad to see another Ops Manager player. Lord knows Ops needs some love and support, especially after the opening of THE PIT. 1 Link to comment
Hepatica
He's a good roleplayer who has been around longer then most people realize. I'm more then confident he would be a good command player, he has plenty of knowledge of the operations department, and there is often times not an operation manager in most rounds I've seen, so having more command players willing to play that role is great. +1 from me 1 Link to comment

4000daniel1
Francis is a good OM and a neat character. I've no complaints. +1 1 1 Link to comment
Jasorn
Easy +1 any interaction with their OM character has been fun, plus an extra IC bias that he isn't an asshole 1 Link to comment
NM_
Worked with Codename_Bear's OM on a few shifts now as Captain. They communicate, carry out responsibilities, lead their team, and overall contribute to the round positively. A great show so far. 1 1 Link to comment
TeslaBeam
+1 I've played a handful of rounds in Operations with Francis as the OM. They are a nice character to interact with, and they never ignore the rest of Ops or fail to communicate, even during hectic antag rounds. All in all, I don't have any complaints from what I've seen. Great OM. 1 Link to comment
party
+1; Francis is a good manager, communicates effectively with the rest of ops, and is just a chill, chatty, all-around nice dude to play with. 1 Link to comment
Farofafeijao
+1 Francis can coordinate and communicate effectively with the rest of command, and seems to do a solid job managing ops as well. No complaints on his RP either. 1 Link to comment
