evandorf Posted Tuesday at 21:26 Posted Tuesday at 21:26 I often find myself writing during conversations, whether this is an interview in an office, me taking notes on a notepad, or just me trying to make sure some paperwork is properly formatted. I feel like it sometimes causes interactions to drag. I've also been on the other end, waiting to see when an extended pause in a conversation is going to end, trying to keep the flow going. Sometimes I also just like looking busy in my office, but it's difficult to convey that I'm sitting in my chair looking at my laptop and not just fluoride staring at the wall. An indicator similar to the speech bubble that appears when you're typing would help telegraph things like this. I know not everyone uses the speech indicator so it would probably be good to make it toggle-able in similar fashion. I can't say I'm familiar with the code that tracks when you've finished typing, or closing your paper windows. I know that there is something that triggers the pen on paper sounds when you finish writing and close the dialogue box, so maybe that's a good place to attach the indicator. 10
Girdio Posted Wednesday at 06:26 Posted Wednesday at 06:26 I'm a big fan of this in general. There's been a lot of times where I've set my pose to reflect reading/writing/using a console etc, but people aren't typically examining everyone constantly. It turns into having to keep an eye out for players approaching, and emoting that you're doing something so it doesn't look like you're doing nothing.
KingOfThePing Posted Wednesday at 08:25 Posted Wednesday at 08:25 Should also add an indicator for using /me emoting. Because if I remember right, emoting doesn't use the regular typing indicator either. 4
CatsinHD Posted Wednesday at 15:56 Posted Wednesday at 15:56 This would be amazing for anyone who dares to torture themselves with paperwork (Command and Investigator major W). While we're at it, I think atm the /me indicator is the exact same as the /say indicator, so some differentiation would be nice. But scope creep and all that.
Carver Posted Friday at 03:16 Posted Friday at 03:16 I'm always happy for more of these if they have toggles.
ATGiltspire Posted yesterday at 00:50 Posted yesterday at 00:50 Imagining a little quill scribbling instead of the (...) for talking is cute, tbh. I'd love it
