Draculabot
With owls. Why? NanoTrasen tries to get rid of mice with owls, owls become the new pests. Link to comment
Draculabot
For 'dead' sprites, just flip them upside down with x's over their little eyes. Link to comment
hivefleetchicken
The owls should have permanent godmode. Link to comment
Demonofthefall
looks good, I like this idea. Maybe keep the mice so the owls can feed on them. Link to comment
Guest
You would expect mice to get into places like maintenance tunnels and dark areas. You wouldn't expect an owl, this is what? I'm not going to fill the station with pets. Link to comment
Guest
A quick reminder that +1's and Yes/No's without feedback, or feedback that either contains a new suggestion or is completely unrelated do not belong in these threads. Please provide proper feedback. Link to comment
Baka
Mice are nice, we don't need to remove them. Link to comment
jackfractal
This is pretty silly, but it might be fun to have a low chance (1%?) to have an owl spawn somewhere in maintenance. I mean, it's ridiculous, but there are mice in there... Link to comment
Shadow
Honestly, no. Why would owls fly arround in maintance? I don't see any reason why owls would fly arrouns in maintance. Link to comment
Zairral
I think that mice are just fine how they are, and as others have said, it's rather absurd for owls to join them in skulking around maintenance tunnels. But I do think the sprite looks nice, maybe they could be added as a pet for say... The Janitor? Link to comment
Guest
We don't need to fill the station with pets... Although... Since owls represent wisdom.... It'd be cool if the RD had one... But once again what Scopes said, station doesn't need to be filled pets really... Link to comment
witchbells
I would be all for the owl replacing Lamarr. Link to comment
Thundy
The owls are very pretty. I like the idea of having a slim chance to spawn. Or, alternatively, have them as a player only spawn, like the mouse Link to comment
nbielinski
Waitaminute.. is this a big reference to Futurama? You know cuz.. mice.. were replaced.. with owls. Anyway, yea it might be nice to have one or two around hooting it up but after the 30th owl manages to make its way into the maintenance tunnels you have to ask if the station is being kept clean at all... Demonofthefall
I would be all for the owl replacing Lamarr. I agree with this, having a face hugger as a pet makes no sense at all. If you have ever watched any of the Alien movies you would know that having one of these things on the station in the first place is a horrible idea even if its neutered. They are remorseless killing machines not a fuzzy little friend to carry around with you. They jump on your face, choke you unconscious and literally rape your face. Plus Xenomorphs are meant to be unknown to the crew, I doubt many RDs would even have much knowledge of them. Link to comment
Thundy
I thought Lamar was in reference to half life two? Link to comment
Dea Tacita
I THINK this is a Futurama reference. Link to comment
Demonofthefall
I thought Lamar was in reference to half life two? Not sure about the name but Lamar is a face hugger (baby Xenomorph from Alien). The owls are a futurama reference Link to comment
Gollee
Lamarr is a debeaked headcrab from Half-Life 2, who is the pet of one of the two best scientists in the game, who between them invented the teleporter, among other things. In relation to the topic at hand, maybe have 1/100 mice spawn as an owl, so the rarity would make it an interesting round point. Link to comment
Xelnagahunter
The thing here is this, how the hell did they get there? Mice, and other rodents and vermin, have a tendency to hide in small spaces causing accidental seal ins. This leads to mice on shuttles. That, in turn, leads to mice on stations. Owls would not crawl into the same small wire and vent spaces that a mouse would. Owls on the station would simply be a joke and not logical at all. Can I appreciate the joke? Yes, I'd laugh and enjoy it, but my argument against it is just to give validity to why we don't have them. Besides. I like mice. I like annoying robotics with mice because the only way into robotics is via a vent in the surgical area and anyone RPing properly won't want the vermin in there. Link to comment
Gallic
You're forgetting Owls are nocturnal and eat rodents. Maintenance is dark, and mice live there. If NanoTrasen released owls onto their station, they'd probably want to do it in the maint. Also, an owl is easily small enough to fit through vents and corridors, unless you're talking big owls. Which would still fit, but it'd be uncomfortable for them. I mean, I'm pretty neutral about this idea. It'd be fun if it got through, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if it didn't. But you guys are just shooting it down without any further consideration. Even silly ideas deserve respect! Link to comment
