Baka Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Many of time I see account aged less than seven days get antagonist roles and misuse the role. I propose having antagonist roles agebanned so a new player cannot play as a nuke op off the bat. I suggest a week to see how others play antagonist roles and what is expected here. The downside in this proposal is that there are new players who are generally good at antagonist roles. But the number of times new people who come aboard to just shoot everyone with no RP over weighs that. Thoughts?
Alberyk Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 And lets not forget the wizards which only purpose is to fireball everyone.
Arkin100 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Seems reasonable to me. For the new players it will allow for a chance to learn the general mindset of the server, and for veteran players it's not such a long wait.
Lady_of_Ravens Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 This sounds good to me. Anyone who can't handle a few days without playing an antag isn't going to fit here well anyway.
Zidanyia Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Nuke ops? I'd level with that, considering they're the only antags that get gibboomers. Getting gibbed is very sad. I would also say round-start cult, since good deceivers (i.e., roleplayers, i guess) is what you need early game since you can't gankconvert here. Worst. Any other role? Nah, not really. Team-based roles I can understand, but solo op antagonists in my mind should stay open even to day 1 ckeys.
Skull132 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I wanted to do this, but then work and the fact that it's kind of silly/complex, from a coding PoV, as it basically involves editing the job ban checks.
EvilBrage Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 You could simply prevent them from switching their "be antag" from "no" to "yes" on the character startup screen until the proper amount of time has elapsed.
Skull132 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Yes and no. Anyways, I got the greenlight to code in the framework for using a config file for this. That way, we can decide what to restrict on the fly. In the mean time, we can discuss what mantags to restrict, and for how long. An admin meeting some months ago decided on all teambased antag roles, so cult, rev-head (not member), mutiny-head, nuke. I would like to add wizard as well, because it's easier to default to chucklefuckey play, not even by will. But traitor and other roles, I'd like to keep at 0 days required. Thoughts?
Baka Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 Team based antag roles and wizard makes sense. Changeling is a bit of a grey area but I can see it allowed for day zero.
