Frances Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 I think I'll comment, though my opinion should be very clear. I will not, nor will I support this application until a drastic change in attitude changes. On the forums, the applicant is a fantastic writer, though it seems they try to spark fights by some of their post. On the server, they play silly characters round after round it seems, not just a couple of times as they seem to claim. Maybe I'm just anti-fun and joy though, and simply a bunching multiple incidents into a short time span. But the problem of them having multiple incidents still is there. What are these multiple incidents?

All relating to similar offences and stacking ontop of one-another. The next step up would have literally been a permanent ban, as per the escalation of punishments.

I believe I've explained the circumstances of these events multiple times, and that anyone actually following the debate surrounding this application should be aware of them at this point. No?

No, this was not several months ago. This was, quite literally, posted /today/.
Frances Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 No, this was not several months ago. This was, quite literally, posted /today/. That's not true, though. I know when I got that jobban and 3-day ban and it was not today or recently.

I know when I got that jobban and 3-day ban and it was not today or recently. I think you're missing the point. Its not when the ban was. It was that a more senior staff member pointed out that you were INCHES from getting a perma-ban. I'm sorry but that just isn't even close to what a moderator should have tacked on their accomplishments.

I'm sorry but that just isn't even close to what a moderator should have tacked on their accomplishments. Sierra's argument is a time-sensitive one, though. From what I garner she was basically saying that I was close to a permaban right now (which isn't true, unless I misunderstood in which case this is a little ridiculous.) What happened in the summer is that some senior admins basically observed me for a few weeks, letting apprehension build up (with Viking's jobban being a random incident in the middle), then I was slapped a whitelist strip and a timeban literally on the same day, with somebody coming back months later to retroactively tell me I was "close to being permabanned" for it. Anyway, that's all things I've already made an effort to clarify, and I realize this doesn't really get to the meat of the issue, so I wanted to try a different approach. If I were to be made mod, what would be the main concerns or fears that would preoccupy you?
Guest Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Tbh I think Frances has a levelhead, and would be better than most of the staff we have right now.
Guest Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Ditto. Would absolutely support having Frances as a mod. They don't take on a holier than thou or condescending/bull-baiting tone, and that's one of my biggest gripes with the existing team. +1 for sure.
Skull132 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 *Looks at the ground where he's about to rest his foot.* "Yup, I see those four prongs there. Oh well." Jokes aside, this application is getting denied. First off, introducing FFrances to the team would create more issues in the form of internal conflict than FFrances as a member of staff is worth. This comes from the person who worked very closely with FFrances as a Head Administrator. Secondly, after being around for the two to three months that I have been, I've developed an understanding that FFrances' idea of "Fun" and understanding of the server rules are not in line with the server's mentality nor that of the rules. Her instances on matters like this has ended in a few complaints against her, and even this thread. Lastly, to further exacerbate previously mentioned issues, at present she is an admin on another server (private though it may be). Bluntly put: not interested in whatever can of worms that can open up. Never have been, never will be.
