Reason for complaint: I think you guys jumped the gun. I was permanently banned (inb4 arpeers rejoicing in replies to this thread) due to the reasons stated in evidence/logs/etc. While I believe that the ban itself is at the very least semi-debatable, this complaint isn't about that. I'm irked by other matters.

This was out of nowhere. Not out of nowhere as in, nobody has ever said anything about this before, but out of nowhere in the literal sense. I received no message nor notification that I was going to receive a ban. Nothing. I tried to join the server today and, to my mild surprise, was banned.

My main complaint is that this ban was placed upon me when two complaints concerning me were still open and yet not officially resolved by a decision from the staff. Why? Could it not have waited until the complaints were over? It wasn't made perfectly clear that I had done something wrong or not because the complaints were still pending. Why make a premature move? Those two complaints, one of them anyway, were still very much alive and kicking. Make a decision after they are over. Even though I said this complaint isn't about the ban itself, which it isn't, I think that the ban was very dubious if I was banned based upon those complaints because it was basically proven that I dindu nuffin in one of the complaints (the person who made the complaint against me for ruining his antag experience even had a complaint against himself for ruining the antag experience of another person, lmao) and both of those complaints were really just substantiated by people who had a personal agenda against me rather than a real reason to complain. And, again, there's the fact that they were still pending.

If by chance those two complaints really did move the staff to ban, I'm disappointed. I would've liked for there to have been a discussion based directly around my behavior that would've decided my fate rather than two questionable complaints on my in-game actions accomplishing what the former should've done. If needed, we could have that discussion right here.

Basically, to boil it down, I don't think the ban was issued in a correct and justified manner or on the correct time.

Evidence/logs/etc: Ban message - Consistent history of playing non-serious, borderline racist chararicatures, AIDS carrying characters, and not a single ounce of improvement over months of time.

Additional remarks: I knew the aids would claim me one day. At least it happened while I was still young, beautiful and strong.

See you say people complained because they have a 'personal agenda' against you. Did it occur to you that their 'personal agenda' is the thing they're complaining about? It's not that they have a problem with you personally and are making complaints because of it. It's the things you do, that lead to complaints, which are the reason why I (and most likely also the others who have taken part in complaints about you) don't like you. Your cause and effect are backwards. People aren't finding problems with what you do because they dislike you. They dislike you because of what you do.

It was placed on you after you once again decided to claim your character had "aids". you have a consistent problem with playing non-serious characters and getting as close to the line to "chucklefuck" as you can get away with. Im sorry but considering the "i have aids" is like your calling card or something you cannot seriously tell me you where actually role-playing your character as...having AIDS.

It was the final straw that broke the camel's back, you aren't here to seriously role-play. The only time you take anything even remotely seriously is when you are typing up a ban appeal or responding to complaints against you. You where a mod on this server once. You once enforced the same rules i do and i imagine you often spoke to people for doing some of the same things you did. You need a break from this server im sorry to say.

Ah, I see. That's the reason why? I take back most of what I said in the OP. I would've appreciated it if you had told me that you were going to ban me for saying that I have AIDS when you PMed me about it. Well, anyways, how do you know that I wasn't seriously trying to roleplay a character with AIDS? That excerpt from the time I said that my character has AIDS in the Medbay shows that I was using proper grammar and trying to support my claim.

My apologies. I like to say that I have aids so that I can better imagine myself in my character's shoes (and thus better roleplay) but I understand that perhaps I was being a tad excessive. I did not know that people were genuinely against me for stating that I have aids - in fact, whenever I posted, people seemed to encourage me and that gave me incentive to say that I have aids. I'm actually a bit artistic in real life and I have trouble distinguishing when people are and aren't being serious.

One thing I would like to say is that I don't believe the "consistent history of playing racist caricatures" part in the ban reason was accurate. Shlomo Goldstein was my attempt at a Jewish chaplain that I tried out for one single round (and perhaps took a little bit too far, which resulted in me deciding to stop playing him) and Tyreese Lenoir was a serious character of mine that I very rarely played as. 99% of the times, I was a bald 30 year old grey assistant so I again don't think it's realistic to believe my characters are racist caricatures. I hope this did not really factor into your decision.

It was only a small part of the decision, it all essentially boils down to the vast and overwhelming majority of your characters and interactions of them with out player-base being incredibly far off the mark of "high-RP". The list of ahelps about you on this matter is quite excessive im sorry to say. You're not a horrible person, nor do i think you intend malice of all of this. However, according to your note/warning you have been spoken to a few times in the past and also received a ban. Over a lengthy period of about 4 months your behavior has consistently reflected what i wrote.

you need time off, plain and simple. Whether or not this is a perma-ban that remains forever is entirely up to you.

While I would have liked to receive immediate notification whenever the staff had thought I did something wrong (a problem Frances pointed out in her post on the complaint and something that may have prevented all this from progressing to this point) I am willing to accept that what you're saying is completely valid. This thread can be closed.

I do have to contest what you said. All recent notes on your account detail your responses to them over adminhelp. To claim that the admins did not talk to you every a note was added is rather false: you were informed of them.

Regardless, involved parties resolved the complaint, so I'm archiving this.
