Farcry11
Pretty much what it says on the tin. I've got some ideas for traitor items, and I'm throwing them out there just because. Here goes: Garrote: Fairly simple. An easily concealed length of fiber wire used to silently strangle a target. There are a few ways it could work: one, as a sort of stunning weapon (perhaps with respiratory damage?), which would knock the target to their feet and restrict their breathing while you remain within a tile from them. Two, a (probably OP) knockout oriented weapon, which, when used, knocks the target out after a few seconds. This method would likely be hard to balance (perhaps the target would be unable to move while being garroted, instead having to resist?). Essentially a non lethal weapon which could offer more knockout options than a chloral hypo. Recon Drone: A small, floating drone which the traitor can remotely view and control through their PDA. I'm not sure if remote control is even possible code-wise, but the general idea of reconnaissance equipment remains interesting. A possible alternative could be a device that allows the traitor to see through the station cameras as long as it is connected to a camera or APC (and the traitor is standing next to it.) Suicide Vest: For when you're really committed to getting the job done. A Kevlar vest strapped with enough C4 to destroy the traitor and everything within a tile next to him. It could also destroy non-reinforced floors within a tile of the explosion. Vest could be detonated with either a code word or a remote, and (for special hostage funtimes) couldn't be taken off without help, much like an electropack. Ballistic and laser shots which hit the vest-wearers chest carry a slight chance to detonate the explosives. Cardboard Box: "You should come inside the box. Then you'll know what I mean." An essential tool used by any spy worth his salt. Who would expect someone to hide in a cardboard box? This item looks exactly like a plain old cardboard box, but it functions more like a wearable, fixed chameleon projector. When someone equips the box in their armor slot, they take on the appearance of said box. People can walk over them, but if they try to pick up the box, then the item is de-equipped immediately, revealing the occupant. May or may not come with a super cool super sneaky headband. The Cleaner's Knife: A butcher's knife with an unbelievably sharp edge. Clicking on a dead body with this initiates a 30 second-1 minute long process wherein the traitor cuts the dead body in to small, concealable and manageable chunks. Would obviously leave a large bloodstain on the ground, but those aren't exactly uncommon. Essentially, a slower, portable gibber that doubles as a decent melee weapon. Brass Knuckles: A reliable classic. A weapon that, when worn on the hands slot, greatly magnifies the user's punching damage and increase the likelihood of fractures from said punches. May inhibit item-holding while in use. Would likely be (subtly) visible on the traitor's sprite. That's all I've got for now. Post your thoughts, and some ideas of your own if you'd like. LetzShake
I like the garrote or something similar as a nonlethal option. Especially if it could double as makeshift handcuffs, which would make sense. As for some of the other items. Drone: I don't know how feasible something like this would be, coding-wise. But it could be interesting. Especially if it's disguised, maybe as a mouse, but if you examine it, you'll see it's not a real one. Suicide Vest: I like some of the RP options here, for discouraging security's usual idiotic blind use of lethal force. But I generally don't like bombs very much. In the spirit of this, though, an implant for nuke ops that triggers an explosive suicide injection after an emote would be pretty neat. Cardboard Box: As a joke item, like the balloon, I like it. I think that's what you meant it for? Cleaner's Knife: Bodies don't really need to be disposed of that badly, because it's pretty rare someone gets busted because a body they intended to hide got found. I think this opens up too much gankiness. Brass Knuckles: I like it! Actually I like it so much I think it shouldn't be a traitor item. Make it an illegal autolathe or protolathe item! Increase damage from punches and increased chance of knockdown, maybe? Link to comment
Guest
I'mma give my opinion on these. Garrote: I like it. Something nonlethal and possible to detect. Fun! Drone: So a moving camera right? Like shake said, I have no idea how the coding would work, but it would be really useful. Suicide vest: This on the one I have the biggest problem with. It's begging for some baldhead to strap it on, walk into a heavily populated area, and scream "Allahu Ackbar!" It's probably wrong of me to think this way, but griefers will always grief. Cardboard box: Snake? Snake? SNAAAAAKE? Cleaner's knife: It may have the opposite effect intended. A corpse is a corpse, but random bloody chunks means someone chopped it up with a purpose, and with a tool that could gib someone. Brass knuckles: Finally, something that puts us on even ground with those damned catbeasts. Link to comment
LetzShake
The idea of the knife presumably is that it would effectively gib a person, like a cult sacrifice does, reducing them to a greasy bloody spot that can be cleaned with space cleaner or a mop or whatever, and limbs that can be stuffed in a bag to be more easily disposed of. hivefleetchicken
How about a handheld device that when you click on a camera with it, allows you to access the camera at any time from the device. You can place a bug on each of the cameras in the central hallway, and then monitor security response times and such, staging beautifully planned antag thingies. Link to comment
LetzShake
Camera bugs exist already in TG, as well, I think. So not entirely impractical Link to comment
Chaznoodles
If I recall, a garrote has a knot in it, designed to crush the windpipe and pretty much wreck the target from the offset. Also, suicide vests used to exit within the code - I believe the icon is still there, but not the useability - and involved strapping an assembled bomb to the vest with a signaller in hand. We definitely had a suicide vest on goon, a hundred years ago. It was specifically built from a health scanner, and was designed to go off in the event of the wearer's death. Not sure how it evolved since then Link to comment
duck
Hi. Garrote: you're not getting a reuseable sleepypen. this needs some other function that isn't an instant easy kill. Drone: Possible, but would take better coder than me. Ask sounds maybe. Suicide vest: One does exist in the code. Its on-mob sprite is the default armor sprite though. You have to attach a single-tank bomb to a vest. Code is commented out at the moment and single-tank-bombs do not work, so there's really no point. Would need to restore single-tanks. Or make a simpler version. Cardboard box: Could make a chameleon projector with like only one setting? Maybe add the setting to the cham projector. Cleanerknife: I don't know about this. Brass knuckles: Any onhand stuff is kind of iffy. Stunglove code is hideous already. Could be done though, and fairly easily. Camera bug exists somewhere but is largely unused. Link to comment
Guest
Idea for traitor item: Duct tape. Use it on a person to gag their mouth. Keeps them from screaming when you're transporting them from nefarious location A to nefarious location B. Using resist with unbound hands automatically rips it off. Link to comment
hivefleetchicken
Also usable as a blindfold if they use it on someone with the damage zone on the eyes? I would think they would place it on someone via their mouth for the gag as well, dunno. Link to comment

Davidchan
Syndie-Gum - It's a normal stick of gum. Or is it? Powerful Flavor, explosive aftertaste. Gum would require the user to 'eat it' (queue obnoxious chewing animation) for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds a message would tell them the gum is starting to feel unstable and bubbling in their mouth, they be able spit out an explosive gumwad into their open hand/floor if cuffed/hands are full. 2 minutes after they begin chewing, the gum would explode, create a single tile explosion for precision. Using the gum on any wall/door/mob would 'stick' it to them, securing the fate. Resiting while stuck would allow a player to shake it off (sorry Borgs.) Reinforced walls would require 2 (or more) sticks of gum to penetrate, as would high security doors (AI Upload/Vault/Armory.) Depending on how it's balanced, could be requisitioned in packs of 2-4 pieces or by the Stick. Warning: Do not chew gum for full 2 minutes. (Or trick someone into chewing it.) Scrambler PDA Card. - This black case has a picture of a robot shooting a helmeted figure holding a baton. PDA insertable card. Causes electromagnetic interference when used. Cyborgs, Drones and Cameras start to hallucinate when exposed to this, making them see things that aren't there or members of the crew look like someone, or someTHING else. Effectively a short (30-45 second) confusion of robotic players. 2 uses per card. Freemium Cigars. -In every way one of these looks like the captain's personal cigars. Except it's laying out on the floor unattended? Smoking this would cause the player to inhale potentially lethal doses of Psilocybin or Space Drugs (maybe mixed with a fair bit of sleep toxin.) The plus side is it gets you high, the downside is it's probably going to cause you to die of internal organ failure. Suspiciously Opaque Monocle. - This would be a very dark tinted monocle, so dark that when wearing it you can barely see your own hand at the end of your arm. Using this would require you to shut one eye completely and mounting it over your open eye, limiting your view to 2 tiles (1 normal, 1 shaded), but render you impervious to flashes or damage from welding torches. Small enough to hid just about anywhere; pockets, webbing, hazard vests, even inside a wallet! Link to comment
