You post either a short 4 line suggestion or a long 500 word paragraph detailing how you'd put a feature into the game, it doesn't matter. You decide "this is fine", and you go to work.

The first response is "i don't like this, we shouldn't have this! -1" with no rebuttal or any addressing to your points.

The second response parrots the first response but suggests a totally new suggestion separate from the thread itself rather than hitting backspace and creating a whole new thread instead.

Thankfully, the third response supports the OP and gives a point-by-point analysis on how it could fathomably work and would be interesting.

Unfortunately, the third response had a rare illegal pepe as their avatar and was promptly IPbanned by a forum mod for illicit distribution of rare pepes. Their post is lost to the realm of the forum mod bin, awaiting the report to be closed.

The fourth (now seemingly third) response is more of the same of the 1st and 2nd, except it poses a question that seeks to derail the topic.

The bait succeeds. The next 20 posts are now focused upon the intricacies of Tajaran genitalia, how the administration could better the server by lifting the rule on ERP, and how the development team could increase immersion and roleplay value by giving Tajarans sole proprietorship of sex verbs a la Lifeweb. Only they may yiff, none else.

The next 30 posts is followed by the entire other half of the server crying out degeneracy and asking the "weird" part of the community to "pls go" and "drink bleach" as the ancient specter of Inverted_Rectum begins to take on a corporeal form, his pure embodiment of salt, puritan Christian values, anger and rage being drawn to this disturbance in the Force. He then proceeds to completely corrupt the HTML of page 42, in which one can only behold impossible geometric shapes and angles unlike anything that has ever been seen before. One would wonder if this is the second coming of Cthulu.

You return home from your job, tired, your back aching. You take off your hat, sling your belt off, sigh as your waist is released from near-suffocation, place your trusty holster with your glock 21 on your desk and hop onto the forums to check out the new posts. "CCW master race", you sigh as you stare lustfully at the holster on the table before returning your gaze to the computer screen.

You read the thread that just blew up over the course of your workday, and after 41 pages of reading absolute shitposting cancer and degeneracy incarnate, you mouse your cursor over to click on page 42.

An unknown force possesses your body, your consciousness forced to watch as your hand reaches to undo the straps to your holster, grab the 13-round .45 caliber pistol, placing it to the temple of your head as Invy blows your brains out and releases you from the absolute suffering and toiling of participating in a video game community that takes 2d spacemans a little too seriously than most.

• That's not realistic, we're HRP, we need realistic stuff and not some goon-level shit. We need immershuns, and stuff. Are we the job simulator, or we are not?

There is no middle ground, even though logic and practicality would dictate otherwise.

It's not even this, dude. It's honestly one of two things:

1.) Person A takes their argument too far, insults person B. Person B screams oppression and spams the report button with their metaclique, hell ensues, forumbenned, kid.

2.) Person A is totally sensible and respectful, does not insult person B. Person B screams oppression over being logic'd out of their position, hell ensues, forumbenned, kid.

Alternative, on the side of those who occupy "I've witnessed something that is an offense to me"

1.) Person A brings up an issue of community respect, persons B, C, and D take the bait when A mentions a personal thing, person A turns around and says "SEE SEE I WAS RIGHT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY THIS IS AN ISSUE FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT"

2.) Person A puts up a rage post about community respect, the rest of the alphabet all post "You've lost the game" and frustrate A to leave the community.

You can be banterific all you want, make your argument amusing, humor-laden and interesting to listen to. It's just sensible to not go way too far without good reason. Likewise, if you have a problem about being offended by what you see, here's what you do. You approach whomever, privately and say very politely, "Hey, I don't really appreciate how you're going about this and here's why..." and then you make your case from there! Don't cause a damn dramastorm with everyone, sort it out one-on-one with those you have an issue with. It's like being a sniper. You take out the issues one by one, but you're patient about it and you account for every consequence that comes of it.

It's really easy, this arguing thing! The basic objective is to not look like an idiot, nobody will really bother you if you're smart. Hell, people attract to that sort of thing. Just don't be dumb about being smart, okay? Take a little, give a little back.

I have no clue what we're talking about (Probably because I don't really browse suggestions that much) but I will say this.

Suggestions get derailed, people argue, people can't reach a consensus. In the end, it doesn't matter, because the devs are the ones who hold the power in the end.

That's how it is, that's how it will be in spacemen.
