Mcfluff Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) BYOND Key: mcfluff Character name: Layla Starr Item name: Honey ham sandwich Why is your character carrying said item to work? Her boyfriend noticed she doesn't eat nearly as much as she needs to in order to live healthily,so he moved in and started cooking healthy food for her and giving her lunch so she can eat healthy every shift. Her relationship is over but she's trying to keep herself better fed on her own now. Item function(s): Restore a reasonable amount of hunger. Item description: A delightfully innocent sandwich composed of a few slices of ham, mayonnaise, and cushioned with two slices of white bread. Item appearance: http://www.lasplash.com/uploads//1/postcard_barcelona_7_image_3.jpg How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? She feels very sought after and the sandwich from her boyfriend is a good way of letting people know she's not single. EDIT: Another thing, people could ask where she got that sandwich to which she'd answer "from home". Additional comments: Edited October 10, 2016 by Guest
NebulaFlare Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 If you want it to actually be healthy, it should be turkey, lettuce, tomato, pesto, and two slices of whole-wheat grain. And if she wants to turn down suitors, she could just wear jewelry her boyfriend gave her.
Guest Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Behold! A custom item you can eat! I think this is both amusing and it could make for some degree of interesting roleplay. I'm for it, despite how silly it is.
Mcfluff Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 If you want it to actually be healthy, it should be turkey, lettuce, tomato, pesto, and two slices of whole-wheat grain. And it's leagues better than the cheezy honkers she'd eat instead.
Serveris Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 .. Honestly can't tell if this is a joke app?
Mcfluff Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 .. Honestly can't tell if this is a joke app? It's fully serious, no joke.
hivefleetchicken Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Let's implement the lunch system then, dromox. Semi-crippling malnutrition hits people in an hour and a half and suddenly we're not allowed to bring deterrents for this to our workplace?! Get off, ye bastards! I stand with team honey ham! You'll take our sandwich rights when you pry them from our cold dead hands! I support this custom item purely for the shoving off suitors effect. I don't see a big deal in spawning with food tho. I'm guessing Mcfluff is a t0tal qt bachelorette or something and is tired of explaining that they don't ERP at work to people. Now they can just slap the sandwich on the desk and go "my boyfriend made this" and everyone will stop. It's beautiful.
SierraKomodo Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 This thread is a wild ride. Ignoring the peanut gallery and focusing on the app.. I forgot there are a /lot/ of people who bring their own lunch to work. No reason why that wouldn't happen in 2458.
Mcfluff Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 In my own, personal experience I can conclude that this must be a thread for joking purposes, for you see that this suggestion states that it is the boyfriend of Layla Starr that has partaken in the assembly of this abstainer of esurience in the form of a sandwich, an arrangement of two slices of bread and one filling usually consistant of meat, salad or both, the arrangement traps the filling within the two bread slices, in which to hold it so that the consumer may ingest filling without cutlery, or holding it directly if it may be causational toward the stickiness of digits and limbs such as fingers and hands, common conjecture states that it is those of the male sex, who request of the female sex for the assembly of sandwiches, in forms such as "make me a sandwich" or "make me a sandwich, bitch" and therefore i conclude that it is a thread of joking as it would not be possible within the lore. I mean I couldn't make Layla a lesbian, that'd make her even more boring.
makkenhoff Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I'm alright with the sandwich idea - though I'd suggest it be limited in scope so as to not detract for our chef's good work. (Or absence of, in many cases) I don't think food gets enough credit honestly in SS13 in general.
Bedshaped Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Here's the sprite https://www.dropbox.com/s/n17jbggp19a1oi2/laylasandwich.dmi?dl=0
TishinaStalker Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Cleaned up the thread. Y'all can go and stay out with your joke and completely irrelevant posts because it does nothing but create clutter. I'll get to this item app and the rest of the active ones on Wednesday night.
TishinaStalker Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 And then I didn't. For some reason. Don't know. Anyway. Why? How does a sandwich possibly make you a more well-rounded, three dimensional character? Is it literally just to be able to go "I have a boyfriend"? Why not just make a suggestion to add food items to the loadout in character setup? As it stands, I see little to no reason to accept this application.
Mcfluff Posted October 10, 2016 Author Posted October 10, 2016 Sandwiches are cool, her relationship is also over but she's trying to keep herself better fed by her own now. But mostly because sandwiches are cool.
TishinaStalker Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Application hard denied. Go ask for food in custom loadout if you really, really want it.
Bedshaped Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I put so much effort into the sprite.... all wasted.
