Guest Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 No, I'm not joking. I suggest giving the traitor revolver (as well as the mateba which is the same thing) a slight bit of silly utility, in that while it is a gun that fires .357 rounds that penetrate fairly well through most personnel armor vests, it's ineffective against walls and will instead ricochet off a standard wall's surface in a random direction. Could potentially lead to some hilarious and interesting moments such as a traitor managing to shoot themselves due to a miscalculation or even getting lucky in critically wounding a hapless and unexpecting victim in cover. "I understand the bullets, you see. I make them go where I want."
Synnono Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Seriously, though, an interesting idea, if feasible to easily code. Maybe consider applying it to things like rubber rounds too, since they strike me as pretty likely to do the same? *Braces for the people who know guns to insert informed opinions*
Ornias Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Actually, ricochet was one of the fundamental reasons why Rubber Bullets aren't pure rubber - they ricochet like crazy. I'd get behind this, as long as it wasn't an absolute certainty it would ricochet. The idea of having a room with one bullet shooting around until it hit something would be crazy. Also, if there's a way to predict where the ricochet would go, through the angle, etc - get ready for Revolver Ocelot.
Nikov Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 *gun-educated person* Shooting steel plates at close range is a dangerous thing with armor-piercing ammunition. While a lead bullet will largely disintegrate, and bullets can be specially formulated as 'frangible' to utterly disintegrate on contact, those with steel cores do have a tendency to fly away if the steel they strike is either at an angle or too thick and hard to penetrate. A .357 striking plasteel reinforced walls may very easily rebound and strike the shooter. This could also happen with the Bulldog or other armor-piercing weapons; I've unloaded two mags into a plasteel wall at point blank and had no rebounds strike me. With a real gun that would get me killed.
Mofo1995 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 As a Metal Gear fan, I absolutely cannot fail to endorse this. I want it very badly, and I think this would really spice up the revolver.
UnknownMurder Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Yes. I will annoy the developers if I have to. It's only a matter of time before the carrier boy gets to me. I want to do amazing revolver techniques, and all that stuff.
