Particularly for the below purpose, but the separate existing world of ENGINEERING can allow for more freedom regarding conveyor belts. Edited November 10, 2022 by Gem
LordFowl Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 The idea of manipulating machinery IDs, allowing for the construction of blast doors, mass drivers, buttons/levers, and even proper airlocks, has always been a consideration to me.
Wesmas Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 I think giving the Engineers more options to custom build stuff is a great idea. Cargo wants to redesign where the belt goes? Awesome. Want a conveyor from a farm to the kitchen, sure! Allow new stuff to be built, and new RP options open up, which is what is most important.

Not only its useful when cargo get blown up by Mercus McMerc for the fifth in just 10 minutes and that cargo techs are too lazy to move a crate on a distance of 5 meters, but the construction of conveyor belt could allow me to redo some part of the station in a better way. (Like adding conveyor belts to Robotic for muh RP). And as Fowl said, construction of things like buttons, blast doors and shit would be also very cool.
