Character Names: Ssiruis Zuberi, Iko Usos, Losk Kizi, Iota, Claws (Antag), and Kiehkchika (Vox)

Species you are applying to play: Tajara

What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Wheat

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes

Please provide well-articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race: Their history is rather different than the norm, in their 1900 equivalent era, they had already been given access to advanced space-age weapons like lasers. Now, in modern times there is an ongoing conflict among the Tajaran People, with the 3-way civil war erupting forward, stacked on top of the last wars of 'Liberation' per say. Plus, you got the little fluffy stuff like digitigrade limbs, manes, and other fun (and small) bits of randomness to give the Specics some life. Finally, on the Station itself, there is a strong sense of unification among Tajara, as you will see them everywhere together, all in all, it seems like a welcoming Race Community.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Meow. You have big/clawed feet and fingers, meaning your fancy digitigrade limbs, so obviously, like Unathi you require special shoes and gloves for station work that requires them, like Engineer and Detective. Plus, Humans have (for the most part) solved their inter-racial problems, Tajara are just now stepping onto the stage of the Galaxy, and are fighting among themselves, as they have done in the past. Finally, to be quite frank, you're not a Human, most Tajara are seen doing manual labor or dangerous jobs with lower pay than their human counterparts.

Character Name: Mikam Ar'Jargo

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

CRASH.

Mikam whirled around to see the tall Government building fall into the streets, pieces of it crashing through the roof of a small worker's hut. He stood rooted to the spot for a moment, watching red and green laser fire flash between buildings and across the street. Mikam saw a great white cloud loom on the horizon before a white, furry hand pulled him inside a half collapsed building. Mikam righted himself and turned to peer into the concerned eyes of his father, Mrazo Ar'Jargo. 'Mikam, stay close, if you don't see him, find your brother.' The 8-year-old Mikam nodded, scrambling over to his Father, who was grabbing a snow covered backpack off the wall, and throwing over his back. 'Rau'zi, if nothing has been found by now, no more will appear.' Mrazo called out. Seconds later the wheat colored Rau'zi appeared out of the wreckage, clutching a small black object, the top seemed to be glowing. He nimbly jogged over to his father displaying the object him, Mrazo snatched it up and examined it.

'Energy Pistol, these cursed things.' Mrazo handed the gun back to Rau'zi, 'Keep it but keep your claws off the trigger. If we fire a weapon we may be mistaken for Soldiers.' Mrazo then walked over to a hole in the wall, motioning for the two brothers to follow him after a moment. 'There. That is how we escape.' Mrazo pointed to the looming cloud Mikam had spotted earlier, but now it was no cloud, it was a whirling snowstorm, and it was about to engulf the town. Mrazo glanced at the two brothers, Mikam was wearing a scarf around his ears and a worn, oversized coat and open-toed boots a size too big. While Rau'zi was wearing a leather coat, open toed boots and a flat cap. Mrazo himself was wearing a practical overcoat, a pair of fingerless gloves, and a scarf around his ears, with only thick cloth wrapped around his feet, leaving his claws exposed. 'We wait here until the Blizzard arrives, then we take off through the Storm to Mal'Jor.'

The next long minutes were dreadful to Mikam, he glanced worriedly at his Father and 15-year-old Brother, who were both grim faced. Rau'zi had tucked the Energy Pistol into a coat pocket, which his arm was stuffed inside. They were leaned up against a stone wall, still inside the building. Mikam was tucked in between the two other Tajara, watching the laser fire outside zoom past, and hearing explosions and screams off in the distance. Then, Mikam tensed as Mrazo's ears suddenly flattened themselves on his head. Mrazo quickly held up his hand and signaled Rau'zi in Nal'rasan, Mikam had limited understanding of the language and could only make small words out of his Father's rapid use of it. 'Near...Hide...Mikam...Go...Shot.' Rau'zi grabbed Mikam by the waist and dragged him off behind a pile of rubble.

Seconds latter two armored Tajara bearing the Liberation front crashed their way into the building, weapons raised. They spotted Mrazo nearly instantly and rushed over, aiming their large silver weapons at him. 'Who are you?' the one on right growled at him fiercely. 'Mrazo Ar'Jargo, Civilian, not Solder.' Mrazo answered, still crouched beside the wall. 'Who do you support?' the one of the left asked, still aiming his weapon at him. Mrazo's face twisted into a look of restrained disgust. 'He supports his Family. But, your Liberation respects our basic rights more than the Hadii.' The Trooper on the right's ears had shot up, 'Our? Who is else is in here!?' he exclaimed, jerking his gun away and at the walls and roof around him. Mikam could stand it no longer, he wriggled free of his brother's grip and dived over to his Father, the Trooper's weapon had snapped back into position over Mrazo at Mikam's sudden appearance. After looking into the Mikam's young face the Right-hand Trooper spoke to the other, 'Lower your weapon Araru. These are just people.' He turned back to Mrazo and Mikam and dug something out of his pocket and tossed it into Mrazo's lap. 'You'll want to get to Mal'Jor from here, once the Blizzard hits your M'sai fur will see you through to a paved road in between two hills from the east of here. Stay on that until a Liberation Army vehicle comes by, and show them the paper in that pack.' The Trooper nodded, signaling the end of their talk, turned away, and charged back into the maze of snow, collapsed buildings, and laser fire. But, a new member had joined the fray, the howling winds of the Blizzard announced its arrival, and darkness descended as sheets of snow blocked out the sun.

Mrazo signaled the two boys, and off they ran into the Snow, praying their fur would keep them out of harm's way. Mrazo ripped open the package he had gotten from the trooper, inside were 2 blocks of tasteless MREs, a Compass and a sheet of paper with official looking stamps on it. Carefully wrapping the paper back up, he tossed the two MRE's to the Brothers, who ate as they ran. After 2 hours of running, the collapsed building back in the town was a distant memory. Gathering what meager firewood they could, Rau'zi managed to get it burning with a shot of the energy gun. After 30 minutes of rest (and naps), the trio set about towards the fabled road. After some time, they found it. It was little more than a gravel path with red blinking staffs sticking out of the ground. But after walking up it for an hour, a treaded vehicle came into sight and stopped when it caught up with them. Mrazo showed the Tajara driving the vehicle, who seemed to be a Zhan-Khazan with Dark Grey fur. After some arguments, Mikam was brought forward to seemingly prove that they were indeed Civilians.

Finally arriving in Mal'Jor, Mrazo was able to buy a small home near the center of town and begin his new Job as a Farmer. Rau'zi assisted his Father with money by doing odd-Jobs around the town. Mikam mostly sat at home until his father enrolled him into the Local School at age 9. Mikam made decent grades but largely preferred to go out with his new schoolmates and cause minor mischief among the town, much to his Father's dismay. Over the years Mikam developed into a fun-loving Tajara in a time where entertainment was hard to find. In Mikam's 17 year he managed to secure a job in a Cargo Company in town, where Mikam learned how to manage Shipping, Soon after that he was hired by some off-world mega-corp, which turned out to be Nanotrasen, where Mikam was brought on as a Cargo Employee on the NSS Aurora after 2 months of standardized NT Training.

What do you like about this character?

Mikam has had face-to-face contact with the Civil War and still decided to remain a Civilian than join in on the war, plus he has a loving family to look after him. Plus, I had been thinking about making a Tajara whitelist for some time, and the M'sai seemed like the best of the bunch as they were Hunters, and I just thought that was pretty neat. Even more neat that they have their own body language only other M'sai can read, which could be rather inclusive.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd say I have improved to a definite 7/10. I've recently been trying to incorporate more emotes into my characters to give them some life. Which would be a definite improvement from my past low-tier RP.

Notes: I'm not a good story writing, so please be gentle. I worked on this for like 3 hours ;-; I tried to convery some understanding of the Lore and Current climate of Adhomai.

EDIT: Slapped the Story into a SPOILER Tag to be easy on the eyes.

At this point I'm basically glued to Kizi's side, so I can definitely vouch for his roleplaying ability. He plays the lizzer very well, including flaws and prejudices, so I have no doubt he'd do the Tajaran character justice.

The character backstory is hella indepth, too, which is great. +1

Really good application and well detailed.

Had some ic talk with your character in a rev round, though i mostly see you in the chat joking around. A good RPer by what i have seen in your attempts on recruiting people in the bar. +1

Very strong answers for what are usually formality questions.

It's hard to single out any one aspect of the story to point to and say, "Hey! This application is great." The introduction was excellent and engaging, and I appreciated the depiction of ALA freedom fighters as something other than terrorists. Mikam's life story is very believable and strongly written, and I appreciate the fresh take on the war with his life not being weighed down with abject poverty or an orphan. He's tied to the war, but his life doesn't revolve around it, it's fresh, interesting, and well written.

Application approved.
