MO_oNyMan
The issue with consoles now is that whenever you print a record or extract an id from it, the item lands under the console instead of on it, which makes a simple pick-up of the desired document by clicking it impossible. Those filthy consoles need to learn their place. Making them respectively present the requested document on top of them would make using them not frustrating and also would make sense. Alberyk
I asked lohikar sometime ago about this, and I recall that such is not really possible due to how the console's screen do work. Voting for dismissal. Link to comment
Azande
I asked lohikar sometime ago about this, and I recall that such is not really possible due to how the console's screen do work. Voting for dismissal. Anything is possible. It's a bug, as this was something that was not occuring before (items were always above consoles,) now, items and IDs are fucking impossible to grab sometimes just due to a shakey mouse, to the point where I usually need to use ALT to view the entire tile to grab an ID after updating it. Please make consoles spit IDs back into your HAND when you eject them like it used to be. Link to comment

I do know it was possible that items were able to be above consoles, although it might be easier on people for consoles to be spitting ID's into your hand. Link to comment

The glow-in-the-dark effect on holoconsoles is what prevents items from being layered on top of the console. The console screen is being rendered at a very high layer (above lighting). Having items temporarily move up above lighting would be very ugly both visually and code-wise, and the only other alternative is to just make holoconsoles not glow in the dark. Link to comment
Guest Marlon Phoenix
I think that if consoles spit ID's out in our hand, with a small chance to thunk us in the head, I would be satisfied. Link to comment
