Remove Headset Icons in Chat

What the title says. When someone uses a comms channel, it displays what kind of headset they've used (even if they're using a voicechanger)

This can allow meta, as you can easily identify which department someone is from even if they're concealing their identity - and while you cannot ACTIVELY act on it due to meta rules, you can make up excuses to then avoid those people which would be hard to prove was meta.

I propose changing it to the base general headset if we /must/ have an icon there at all.

AIs/Borgs would still know which were which. Also the icons in general are an indication to these of what device is being used, be it internal radio circuitry, a bounced radio, wall mounted, interdepartmental communication devices or a headset in general.

When is was addressed in the past, the Admins at the time, or the one that handled the situation said they were purely OOC.

As well, this is why I suggested making all headsets being modeled as the plain radio headset rather than departments ones, perhaps the AI could retain the ability to see headset type.

Yeah I remember one round I was B.O.B and someone used a voicechanger to pretend that I was rogue, entire plot undermined by people saying "It is being said by a headset not a chip it's fake!"

Overall yeah +1 this is needed.

This seems like an ahelpable meta issue.

One of the purposes of the station bounced radio icons is to know that the audio you're hearing is infact coming from a handheld radio and so fourth.

In any case, an alternate solution would be better instead of straight up removing it.

Who said this?

+1 For changing all headset communications to show a standard radio headset icon. Having icons in general should be kept due to the infamous radio duplication spam of having active intercoms/station bounced radios sitting around. Even if it may not be realistic to know exactly where that duplication is coming from, I wouldn't exactly call it a feature to have to deal with that. That said, there is 0 reasonable explanation for someone to know what type of headset you are using, even the AI/borgs, as that is handled through encryption keys inside the headset, not the headset itself.
