First day playing at Apollo, I was a Robotech and I was killed by either a wormhole or a Singulo in the hallways, I think it was a wormhole. T'was amusing. A few months back, I was trying to use the research outpost to get rid of a SM shard that a miner dug up. I slipped on the conveyor belt and got thrown out of the disposals chute and into the SM Shard. Safe to say I was evaporated. Quote

Conservatron Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 AHEM well. Aurora specific I suppose... 1) In spite of all the NO SMOKING signs I was smoking while loading plasma tanks in engineering. I lagged, or misclicked, or something, and the valve didn't turn off and I ejected the burning plasma everywhere as I was locked in by the AI and couldn't get to the hardsuits in a desperate attempt to throw myself out an airlock and hope to crash into medical. 2) A couple weeks ago, we had a public botany so I made up a few ambrosia plants. Found out then that they can give you total organ failure. Went to medical and was all 'hey I'm not feeling too hot' the docs scanned me, even tossed me in the body scanner, gave me a couple of pills and sent me on my way. I walked about half the map, then went paincrit and died on my way running back to medical. CPR failed defibrillator failed. 3) Engineering related death again: I show up about... 2.5 hours into the shift, to find out whoever set the singularity was an idiot and did basically everything wrong. The plasma tanks weren't filled, the emitters lacked the energy to fire, and containment had fallen. So I had the idea to get a sec officer to power them up for me, just get each corner nice and lit and I bring the containment back up, and then the plan is the sing gets booted back up and has gives power charging the emitters and they shoot and keep field up. Right? Wrong. Apparently the field fell as I switched it on, the AI told me about 5 seconds later, by the time I had it off the sing was flying around. Killed me and tore up engineering then floated away. I was the only death. 4) On a rev round I was a rev, I don't actually remember the specifics of this death, but I know it was doing something really stupid to save the workers on the station. 5) Honorable Mention - I haven't died to it yet, but I usually run around with a welding kit on my back, and like three times now I've gone to fill my welder without turning it off. I guess theres a safety in the code that only ignites it if you like, hold for 5 seconds or something. I got big red letters each time saying THAT WAS CLOSE Quote

Insisted on searching the outside of the station for the body of a QM who had stupidly suffocated himself to death. I'd assumed he'd gone EVA, gone SSD and ran out of air. STephanos Remes, my HOP had an artificial heart. I wandered by the singularity during my search, not considering that it would explode his heart. Found out while dead that the QM in question locked himself in the locker in his office with internals on for no reason. 2. Was planning on breaking someone out of perma. Took off ID and put on a found Syndicate space suit. Was lagging a lot so kept having to throw shit around every time I drifted off. Ran out of shit to throw and took off my jumpsuit, forgetting that my oxygen tank I was using was in my pocket. Quote

Once I came to, I was in critical with a bloody toolbox on the ground, and people were screaming why I had just killed myself once they placed a toolbox in my hand. It was embarrassing. I also ordered my Golems to shoot me before, to test weapon damages and healing rates. I've gridlocked myself several times, using either cannisters or other Xenoarcheology equipment, and ended up running out of air on the asteroid. Quote

Nevermind the dead botanist that was just dragged out, we figured it was the clearly labeled poisonous berries that we decided to avoid. We ate at least six apples each. We dropped like rocks because they were more than a little laced with cyanide. As a Diona nymph, I was rather glued to my botanist. Until we decided to explore escape. Doesn't usually kill me, but certainly deserves the Darwin award. Once as an engineering Cyborg I went near the Singularity, not knowing it literally was constantly sending out EMPs. I was knocked out, lifted from the ground, and hurtled at light speeds into space, where I hit the asteroid and immediately nearly died. Fortunately Cyborgs are boss. Finally, as Cyborg once I went EVA with an Android to collect a combat drone for the roboticist. Needless to say, the Combat drone did not submit easily. I thought that a flash on it might be as effective as a flash on a cyborg. . . "Asimov hits the Combat Drone with its flash". Asimov then nobly sacrificed himself so that his Android companion might escape, leading the combat drone away from the station. (Mainly fire extinguisher spam in fright trying to get the hell out of Dodge.) Quote

Walked into a heavily griefed toxins storage where a maintenance drone was releasing plasma. I had internals on so i was okay but while moving cannisters around to try and start cleaning the air in science I blocked myself in. I took the chance to grab the drone and destroy it. I forgot that attacking drones makes them spark. Quote

Didn't remember that it was you, but I totally remember the field falling just as you were turning the PA on. I've got a couple of my own though. Back in the day (and only maybe on this server), I torched myself (and others) while taking a smoke break. You know... while waiting for a plasma leak to be cleared. XD And not so very long ago at all, I was playing EmPrESS during a nuke op round and was switched back and fourth so many times between being loyal to the station and the syndicate that when I finally released the singularity (I got a law saying it was candy and that the crew would benefit from having candy) even the ERT couldn't be bothered to save me. And before you follow by example, know that you should probably ask an admin before you release the singularity... I failed to realize some people have really shitty connection and play this, having a horrid lagstorm piled on top of a BWOINK is never pleasant. While in retrospect, it was a fine way to end the round, it probably could have been executed a little better on my part. In terms of communicating what the hell I'm even doing as an antagonist to an admin. Quote

XD But I promise, next time you upload laws to me, I'll be tricksier and less agreeable. Quote

If anything, it's like I gave a gun to my child and told them to go shoot the devil out of their mother.
