If you're still interested in appealing the ban, let me know. Apologies for the delay.
-
I agree with what Ricky said here, especially that bit at the end. If you're able to take everything said in this thread into account, and show that you're past the shenanigans, as well as watch your attitude in PMs, I'll be willing to lift the ban. As long as you know exactly where the line is, and that if you cross it again there won't be much lenience.
-
Alright, first off, thank you for making a new appeal with better and more concise wording and points. You've explained your side of the situation better, and it's something we can work with. I'll go through the relevant points in a brief post now, and move on from there. There seemed to be some confusion about wether or not I saw what happened, and yes, I as well as other staff members, was watching the incident as it played out. He was not firing at you, I believe a shot missed the actual target and in turn passed you, but regardless I can understand that you mistook this for him targeting you, I though that was the case at first too before I saw what he was actually shooting at. An understandable mistake, I don't blame you for that in the slightest. In short, yes. This kind of thing has been a recurring issue, hence the actions taken. Basically, my main question for Absynth is as follows. Do you understand that having a bomb tossed at you, gibbing you instantly by a scientist who you haven't shown any personal aggression toward (Again, the ion bolt going near you was not intentional, I can say that with full confidence.) is an OOC issue? Regardless of character backstory and race, without the proper lead up and escalation non-Security personnel such as scientists should not be fighting and killing antagonists.
-
Logs, vars and witnesses were checked multiple times to confirm that not a single shot was fired at you, the merc was firing at a cyborg and not a single shot contacted with you. Keep in mind it was Ion being fired, thus more reason for a Vaurca to run, instead of charging forward with a bomb. And you cannot say that running away wasn't an option. You weren't part of the conflict until you forced yourself into the conflict, you had plenty of time, and other possible routes, but you didn't. Everything else has already been covered by Serv and other posts in this thread. I'll leave this open for about 24 hours for any further input before closing it.
-
A full post from me will be coming soon, but for now I'll say this. As Delta said, there is a big difference between defending yourself within reason and literally gibbing the guy. To be in the middle of fighting Security and suddenly get gibbed by a scientist who is refusing to fearRP, is an OOC issue. As for the ban, it's 24 hours, you should know from your last appeal that we don't accept appeals for bans that are 24 hours or less.

I love everything about this suggestion, definately in favour of it. But I've got a question regarding mechanical hearts. You talked about a precious minute before the pacemaker overclocks, if you don't mind could you elaborate a little on that? Would there be anything you can do to avoid this if you're quick enough to treat it in this minute, or is it just a countdown before ded kind of thing?

I've had some great interactions with Greene involving his old employment as a HoS, this would serve as a good way to stimulate more of those great interactions with others, and flesh out the character further, to some degree. +1

[ACCEPTED] Juani2400's Moderator application
Catnip replied to Juani2400's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
I was one of the witnessing staff here, the situation was handled well on Juani's part, no bias came into play. Not so much on the other end, however. Moving on to feedback in general, Juani's a promising trialmod, and I'm sure most people agree with me here. Going very well so far. -
[Accepted] Whiterabit's IPC Application
Catnip replied to whiterabit's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
9999% not biased The app is very solid, speaks for itself for the most part. Got no doubt rabit will be one of the better IPC players. +1 -
Alright. Considering the circumstances of you not responding to the PMs, I'll be lifting the ban. However, I advise if you ahelp for clearance before messing with departures in a major way such as this in future. I'd just like to make this clear. "Collateral damage is acceptable within reason, but this means you must use common sense, and avoid creating scenarios with a lot of potential for collateral (setting bombs in high-traffic areas, etc.)" Ban lifted.

[ACCEPTED] ShameOnTurtles's Moderator Application

Okay, my post on this is long overdue. I was the person who originally contacted shame about applying for mod, so it's quite obvious that I'm supporting a trial. Interview responses are gud. -
Tricking Trapster - Staff complaint.
Catnip replied to Roderick Grey's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Alright, since I've been mentioned quite a fair bit here, here's my side/opinions. First off, regarding me being involved. I was thralled, and under direct order of the Roderick, therefore directly involved. Trapster, as a normal crewmember, was only involved via being the only remaining crew ordered off the shuttle (everyone else was either dead or hiding). Regarding the incident itself. IF you ahelped for clearance beforehand, there wouldn't have been any issues, and judging the way things were going ICly, it might have been approved. However, you didn't, and ordering your thralls to escort people off of the departures shuttle does count as conflict. You should always ahelp for clearance before touching departures. Basically, I see the warning as valid, and I'm confident there was no bias involved. Messing with departures, causing conflict without ahelping for clearance isn't a good thing to do, and will almost always result in punishment. -

[Accepted]Whiterabit's Skrell Application
Catnip replied to whiterabit's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Good app, good player, shown a lot of interest in Skrell and the character is detailed and interesting, not much more to say. make rabit a squish not biased in the slightest m8 +1 -
This would add a fair bit to the character, open up opportunities for RP. Definitely a +1 from me.

Dew's been a skilled, active and regular medical player for a long time now, and has recently been serving as Interim CMO quite often, and has done well from what I've seen. If you ask me, I'm surprised this whitelist didn't come sooner. +1
-
It's not as if I go to all efforts to hide it, it's just something he keeps with him most of the time, and when somebody notices it and brings it up that can open an opportunity for RP that otherwise may not happen, due to avoiding bringing it up normally.

I'm more planning on keeping them in my pockets. Again, I don't mind it not being wearable. Sorry for any misunderstandings, let me know if you see any other problems with it and I'll be willing to change bits up if needed.

BYOND Key: SirCatnip Character name: Dylan Sutton Item name: Dog tags Why is your character carrying said item to work? Mostly sentimental reasons, he carries it in his pocket or around his neck whenever he leaves his home, easy to carry. Item function(s): Purely cosmetic, having it wearable around the neck like a holobadge would be nice, but isn't required. Something I can carry in my pocket that gives a description is enough. Item description: Some black dog tags, engraved on them is the following: Wright Dylan L. O POS Pacific Union Special Forces Item appearance: Black dog tags, nothing fancy. How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? The character usually avoids mentioning his service, and will continue to do so, but if someone notices and makes note of it, that can open up a lot of opportunity for RP. Additional comments: No additional comments.

Catnip replied to whiterabit's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Finally posting feedback here, not bias ayy. Rabit's already proven to be good at RPing ayylium races with their Tajara whitelist, and all their characters are believable and likable. I have no doubt that gecko rabit will be a great addition to the crew. +1 -
