Lord Fowl's Antag Job-Ban Appeal
VikingPingvin replied to LordFowl's topic in Unban Requests Archive
My main issues: If you really wanted to only cut off the arriving ERT, then dont't blow the C4 in the corner of the arrivals shuttle, but the hallway of the additional docking ports. If you want to create the illusion of bombs on station, you usually don't blow a hole in the middle of one of the most important hallways ( Tool storage) rather haul that tank away, and blow up unnecesary parts first. Anyways, i think this appeal showed effort and understanding. Willing to reduce to one day, in case others want to reply. -
Aaron Bernhoff has purchased 5% for 1000 Credits.

I think the main problem with it, is that currently, it is too far from the hub, there is little movement there. What if we move it closer, somewhere in the vicinity of the vault?

Well, the problem is the templates have to be stored somewhat html-y on the database. We could add the seperate html tags codewise, but that again, means different formats for lots of different templates aka, a lot of hardcode.

If you don't yet have our code, fork it. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora the paper printing stuff is in the request_console.dm . The language very much resembles C, but it's byond so it is bad. Also i am no expert so i might be saying somethings wrong. Started to try implementing it myself as experiment for your information. What i had in mind, there would be a new menu for request consoles from which you can choose the already available templates. Upon selecting it prints it out ( from the html hardcoded into the .dm file) and there you fill out the fields normally with a pen. EDIT: After a chat with skull, the templates could be stored in the online database, like books. That way, easier to implement new forms/modify them.

Could be easily done in my opinion. Take the crew comms console's fax ability. It loads a whola paper with all of it's contents and prints it out at the other side. That code could work as a base. All you need are setting up the templates and their variables, and maybe a new machine for it. Even modify the paperbin to be able to give out these template pages. So go ahead and make the suggestion.

Hearing Damage + Radio Equipped Ear Muffs/Ear Defs
VikingPingvin replied to SgtSammac's topic in Archive
This is a great idea. Make most of engineering equipmnt give lots of noise, like the PA, atmos pumps(!), the recycler, that would be great. -
Varies. Sometimes we don't have any for 2-3 rounds. Sometimes we have to deal with them every 10 minutes.

Uh, i doubt we would have sufficient player numbers to make our own dedicated server. But oh well, your choice. Anyways, if this gets to be a thing, we could use this to advance macro lore, like faction standings, etc? Would be cool. -

Then, make a faction there? -
Would make dangerous situations more dangerous...which is...nice. You have my support.

Since i have no experience in servers - again- either works for me. That red shift seems nice, though i guess we would have to travel to the edge of the galaxy to have some breathing space. EDIT: Okay, tried redshift, some asshole rammed me out of spawn sector while in the midst of building the ship hull. Ass the mass was already huge, and i havent added any thrusters to it yet....And then got a nullexception error so game crashed...lucky i saved my ship to local 2 minutes before it. -

Would like to join you guys too. Either is fine for me, but i still don't know shit about the mechanics and functions...soo..yeah. -
Started with these guys back on old Apollo as a regular. Then after the split i sticked with Aurora->mod->tertiary->secondary->and primary( tis last was like a month ago) Though prim, sec, tert only gives you different accesses, and not higher position in the staff team mainly. Yes there was/were. And there are many who don't frequent us anymore, or just rarely.

Make labour work possible, mining or anything. There is no need to code that. Sec could just ICly acknoweledge their labour and reduce time. Edit: Also, the CS prisonbreak memories...hmmmmmmm

When i found this game i was amazed by how deep the mechanics were and how an awesome community was built around it. I gradually made my way up the staff "ranks" so the change in style was not that hard. When i am on i like...never play anymore, because: 1) most of the time i am alt-tabbed doing work, constantly checking back for a few mins of course, 2) next to university i have no 2-3 hours to "waste". Also i don't find this a problem, i do enjoy it a lot, helping palyers where i can, observing situation have great chats with the staff team, so it is fine. It has ups and downs yes, but for me, i found more joy in modding than actually playing. Also i can annoy Tishina and Doomberg with metallurgy.

Works.

We don't really give out bans for no reasons. Maybe you did something mid-round that got reported later. No idea. Post your story/logs so we can investigate.

Fear RP (Or, why Adrenaline doesn't make you a ninja)
VikingPingvin replied to Farcry11's topic in General
I have to agree. The doctor disarmed the operative shooting it multiple times. The op fled outside arrivals and the doctor chased him. Chased him while there were dying people on the floor beside her. It would be logical to remain there check their lifesigns etc, and not kill him because that is goddamn illogical. Just because you overcome an enemy(which in some situations is fine) does not mean you are granted a magical buff motherfucker power that lets you kill all of them. -
About wiki editing, adding new guides
VikingPingvin replied to ForgottenTraveller's question in Questions
Those that work differently/needs specific behaviour are planned to be added. I just have little time to work on it lately, so it is my fault taht guides are not being worked on. Apologies. And yes, non-lore wikijunkies would be a big help, as currently i think i am the only one supposed to do that. Write to skull about permissions. -
I support this.
