Yes.
Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question
Why do you wish to play this specific race:
I just really like the idea of playing a synthetic entity, specifically a human-like one, in a science fiction setting. Also the openness of the race in terms of what they know, and what they can do.
Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:
They're completely synthetic, no organic bits, just all machine. This makes people see them completely differently than any other species, which could be in a good or a bad way. And as a species they don't have any uniform culture or accents. And for still being machines they of course have no true homeworld, with them all being built in different places throughout the galaxy, which can lead to IPCs all having completely different backgrounds from each other. There's also the whole not needing oxygen, food, or water bit and needing to get repaired rather than healed, which could either be seen as them being fragile, not being able to self heal, or making them tougher as it's usually easy to repair them.
Character Name:
Roman
Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs
Ent-14, designated Roman, is a baseline IPC built in the Hephaestus "New ENT" line of IPCs in 2455, made to suit an entertainment-related line of work. They were eventually sold to a pub-chain on mars, where they worked for the next year and a half. Starting out as a waiter at a few different pubs, eventually becoming a bartender at a pub called The Old Man's Drink, which is where they were officially given the name Roman. They were eventually replaced and sold off to the owner of a local radio broadcast, which they worked at for roughly 9 months, eventually given the name Slav-bot due to their use of “classic slavic folk-songs” while hosting the radio channel.
Eventually due to a repayment needed by the owner of the radio channel, Roman was given to a bank and auctioned off to Rustys Contractors, situated in Tau Ceti. Still under the name Roman, they served the company as a contractor, which they took multiple contracts working on a myriad of stations throughout the system. They got a contract to work at Nanotrasen vessels in the early days of the 2458, usually as a civilian-level job. During the Tau Ceti occupation Roman was sold off to Nanotrasen, but we brought by Rusty's Contractors, and continuing to work at Nanotrasen with the same contract.
What do you like about this character?
Just the simpleness of the character, but not to a snowflakey level or to the point of making them bland.
How would you rate your role-playing ability?
7/10
