  1. Allows for players to start with a loyalty implant on round start, for when they're not captain/HoS/IAA. But it doesn't just get magically removed if you come as a visitor. It could be set as inactive, so it doesn't do anything but show up for scanners as a hunk of metal in you. And possibly whitelist restricted, for command whitelistees only.
  2. Interview- https://pastebin.com/9QG4ZzZK
  3. Heyo, i'll be handling your interview. You should get a discord message so we can set it up.
  4. He wouldn't dislike them as a whole, but he would more likely think of a human, rather then all humans in a way. They may like some, they may dislike others. Same with other species. Although he would see most other species inferior in technology, and to a degree thought.
  5. BYOND Key: Yonnimer Character Names: Grown By Star Light, Michael, Bright, AIM, Iah, Copper, Prospectors Of Shiny Gems Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Light green. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yeah. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: With all the new updates and lore additions, the species is starting to just look interesting and unique to play. So it got me interested in it, even more so after fully reading through the lore. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: They're honestly just smarter than humans, they likely won't show emotions to other species, although they still do have it. Their history also has them act differently to other species, most certainly to synthetics. They also may take a more logical approach when approaching a situation, more so than humans would. Character Name: Ulek Quell Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Ulek Quell was born in 2408 in the Jargon Federation, in a town near the Tups Sea to a young, for skrell, couple. Both engineers who specialized in the maintenance of structures.. Ulek lived a simple life, inspired to grow up and become a structural engineer much like their parents. In their studies, they were a fairly decent student, showing high leadership skills, but as well as a low tolerance for mistakes. And at times a high temper. He also started to grow a general disliking of synthetics around this time. He eventually attended and graduated from Verl University For Engineering. While not one of the top students, they had passable grades. And this gave them a career in structural engineering throughout Jargon for the next chunk of their life. He spent most of these years working in Qwerel's Designing as, of course, a structural engineer. Their pay was adequate, and by all means a decent job to them. But over the years, the yearnd for something greater. He never had kids, or found a soulmate. Where eventually, he became interested in a job in Biesel, as he believed he had a better opportunity there. Where he eventually got a job with NT as a station engineer in the year 2459. What do you like about this character? I like their backstory, it's not something over complicated or tragic. It's just, simple. I also do like their personality. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 9/10 i'd say. Notes: Thanks for reading the app. I'm looking for any feedback with it. Writing backstories like this isn't exactly my strong suit.
  6. I'll admit off the start that my memory of the round isn't the best. First thing I wanna mention, the uplink was spawned by a admin, I forgot the reasons why as I was half tabbed in at the time. Just for a quick note on that. The main conflict on the shuttle was deemed valid by me, as it was part of a ongoing conflict from before the shuttle docking with the main station. The traitors had a plan to raid the vault, and were supplied by RnD via a traitor lab assistant. This took a bit of the round to setup. But before they could start the SM blew up from being set up incorrectly. So they made their way to the shuttle, and got into a fight with security once before this. Later the head of security gave orders to fire on them if they wouldn't surrender at the checkpoint, and this started the fighting, which got to the shuttle after a bit. Shots were fired, and grenades were tossed by both sides. Although no civilians were hit at this point besides from the EMPs, as far I was aware. Eventually the shuttle doors closed, and the unathi traitor broke in via a window, and started fighting those who attacked them. I did talk to them a bit about this, as it did kill a few civilians due to the breach, and they did kill a few who attacked them. I deemed it valid due to the conflict that was mentioned here. It seemed their motivation started as a failed hope of getting to the vault, and later turned to going to the shuttle, and trying to get on it with security fighting them.
  7. +1 I like seeing more clothing for specialized scientists. And it looks well done.
  8. In the title, let IPCs spawn with toeless jackboots. They look good with zeng-hus,
  9. One counter could be to add a “stun” mode which can knock ipcs out, and disable cybernetics for a minute or so.
  10. As AIM, got +1 this. Amazing way to first land on station.
  11. I deemed kyres's actions during the original ahelp to be fine, as it did seem the ERT was telling them to surrender, or be shot. Same with how security was trying to handle it. It seemed like a miscommunication on a few fronts on what the ERT and security wanted done about Stone during the round.
  12. They've always been icly and oocly a good player. And they've been super helpful with me being able to get in to my own trial. It's always been a pleasure working with them as a trial. And I feel they could definitely make a good full mod. +1
  13. Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: Yonnimer Character Name(s): Russo Trosk, Grown By Star Light, Sailing Through The Void, Roman, Michael, A.I.M, M.I.K.A, Healing Roots Of Stars, Bright, C.I.D-6, Hound-2, Watchers Of Rain, Makers Of Light, Tin. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Never been banned. Personality Why do you play SS13?: It's just fun and addicting. Every round feels different than the last. The community for the game is also rather nice. Why do you play on Aurora?: Mechanics are just more fun here, as well as good rules and a good community to keep the server going and the roleplay good. What do moderators do?: Enforce the rules, do what they can to keep rounds fun and interesting. Help new players out and to learn the game. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: To keep the rules enforced, help keep the rounds fun and interesting for the players, and help new players learn the ropes of the game. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I want to help out the server after what it's given for me. Playing here has been fun, the moderators and admins keeping it so, and I wanna help out to give the same experience to new players. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I feel like I can handle my cool when dealing with a ahelp, make sure the investigation is done right and all that. and I know enough to be able to help with questions about some mechanics of the game. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I can handle them. Rare to actually get angry or stressed over a game, outside of joking around. Anything Else You Want to Add: Not really, but thank you for reading the app.
  14. One another question, how big are you planning on the asteroid dungeons being, least on average?
  15. The idea sounds neat, something fun to do as mining, especially around the later parts of the shift. Although I can see a problem arising from miners rushing for these, right of the bat, ignoring their mining duties for the sweet loot within. And a concern with miners valid hunting with the gear they get. I'd suggest to have 80-90% of these be more like broken cargo shuttles full of crates you'd see cargo see, merchant ships with crates you'd see in the merchant outpost (the three that spawn), or vox ships with artifacts and vox items you'd see raiders with. I can't predict how it would go, though. I'd like to see it, just starting with a trial period to make sure it can be handled, especially with the summer tide coming in.
  16. +1. I've played with them plenty of times, they know regulations enough to play IAA, and they seem capable of handling any command role. Their RP is also on point as a synthetic, doubt they couldn't do it well as command either.
  17. +1, while I do agree there needs to be a little more in their app, they definitely are ready for the head white list, i've worked with them plenty of times before, and they've put in good effort icly and oocly with their work.
  18. +1, would + higher if I could, good person to play with, fitting for the role definitively, also worked with them when they went as a interim, went well, they got an icly recommendation for the IRD to get promoted. also, IRD, IPC Research Director.
  19. +1 Every interaction I've had with him was pleasant, and he's shown he's ready for a head of staff role being an intern multiple times.
  20. +1 I've played with them on numerous occasions which were all positive experiences, I have no doubt they're right for the whitelist.
  21. Wizard of that round chiming in here, just wanna put a little bit more of the story here. The first interactions with the crew I had was me teleporting into the bar, which Walker was in, and having her say what the hell to me teleporting in, pulling her gun out, and telling me to get on the floor. After a minute of a bar-goer defender me, a sec borg that walked in earlier tried to taze me, and I jaunted out. Later on after having the HoP say it was alright I was on station, I was at cargo when Walker started to insult me, including at one point saying that all xenos should be purged. This eventually went on to me giving her the book in an attempt to have her cease. Last thing that happend I wanna mention is sometime after me giving the HoS a student's contract, I was trying to give one to the RD, which Walker proceeded to disarm the RD, take the contract, and run off into maintenance, which they were arrested after. She repeatedly was trying to antagonize me into attacking her, or another crew member. Attempting to force the escalation into me being a hostile element
  22. +1 App seems very solid. Haven't seen their characters much but when I have it was always a positive experience.
  23. +1 App seems well done, and I like playing with B.O.B. He seems like he'd do fine as an IPC.
  24. BYOND Key: Yonnimer Character Names: Russo Trosk Grown By Star Light Sailing Through The Void Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Exempt. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I just really like the idea of playing a synthetic entity, specifically a human-like one, in a science fiction setting. Also the openness of the race in terms of what they know, and what they can do. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: They're completely synthetic, no organic bits, just all machine. This makes people see them completely differently than any other species, which could be in a good or a bad way. And as a species they don't have any uniform culture or accents. And for still being machines they of course have no true homeworld, with them all being built in different places throughout the galaxy, which can lead to IPCs all having completely different backgrounds from each other. There's also the whole not needing oxygen, food, or water bit and needing to get repaired rather than healed, which could either be seen as them being fragile, not being able to self heal, or making them tougher as it's usually easy to repair them. Character Name: Roman Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Ent-14, designated Roman, is a baseline IPC built in the Hephaestus "New ENT" line of IPCs in 2455, made to suit an entertainment-related line of work. They were eventually sold to a pub-chain on mars, where they worked for the next year and a half. Starting out as a waiter at a few different pubs, eventually becoming a bartender at a pub called The Old Man's Drink, which is where they were officially given the name Roman. They were eventually replaced and sold off to the owner of a local radio broadcast, which they worked at for roughly 9 months, eventually given the name Slav-bot due to their use of “classic slavic folk-songs” while hosting the radio channel. Eventually due to a repayment needed by the owner of the radio channel, Roman was given to a bank and auctioned off to Rustys Contractors, situated in Tau Ceti. Still under the name Roman, they served the company as a contractor, which they took multiple contracts working on a myriad of stations throughout the system. They got a contract to work at Nanotrasen vessels in the early days of the 2458, usually as a civilian-level job. During the Tau Ceti occupation Roman was sold off to Nanotrasen, but we brought by Rusty's Contractors, and continuing to work at Nanotrasen with the same contract. What do you like about this character? Just the simpleness of the character, but not to a snowflakey level or to the point of making them bland. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10 Notes:m /b] Any feedback is appreciated.
  25. I believe I would. I wouldn't just let lawgivers be given to cadets on code green, or let a lab assistant make drugs in the chem lab, or even go valid-hunting for raiders the second they're called out. But also still encourage people to make thoughtful experiments and projects to keep science interesting, but not just making it a bore-fest of the same projects over and over.
