Looks good, I am in support.

As one of the gas-ees, I'm pretty sure it was actually the gung ho synthetics instead of Security, the officer wrenching the tank was highly reluctant and 5 minutes later I'm seeing him shooting one of the synths.

I also use autolathes to make camera assemblies in the instance that I want to put them in maintenance, replacing the metal and glass used with my own to not break the interfere law. It all looks good to me now.

As for Rambo Drones, no one seemed to have an issue with the drone attacking the Blob during last night's hostage situation. -shrug- But then, I could be picking nits here. Heh, I was one of the hostage takers. Anyways, on topic, while attacking blobs is mildly sketchy, they still avoid antags, as they are told to not interfere with any being on the station that isn't a drone, this would generally include Nuke OPs and everything else. (Unless they attacked while they were EVA but that'd most likely get them a talking to.) However, with the new laws, they'd get free license to attack a Nuke Team making a hole for entry, a Traitor breaking his way through the walls, or any other antag that is doing anything regarding the station and not the crew. It'd also tell them to attack engineers or crew in general breaking walls or windows for any reason. (Can't come up with reasons right now but I can definitely tell you that an engineer will usually have a good reasons.) Maybe tell 'em to attack any non-humanoid creatures threatening the station, which gives them a reason to attack a blob or any other hostile NPC that comes from random events for that matter.

Well, I don't think they should get a clamp, as those can carry everything up to crates, so it'd need fair bit of modification, I also don't like law two, since that'd pretty much have rambo drones assaulting nuke ops and such, I don't think they should get an RCD either, they're tiny drones, not Engineering Robots. Other then those, I like it.

KHZ's Guide to Fun Times (AKA everything about science)
Fire and Glory replied to Killerhurtz's topic in Guides & Tutorials
Just a quick correction, the Energy Relay is the thing that jump starts illegal tech, not the wormhole generator. -
I don't think IPCs really need every single benefit countered but they do need to be balanced so I'd support at least some of these being implemented. On the Robotics note, I'm not really sure where it'd go, plus it'd make it even harder to get something from 'Robotics', since making it a department would mean you'd probably have to separate the sub-professions into individual professions, and getting an active Roboticist is already fairly hard so it'd make it harder to either get Robot repairs or get a mech from Robotics, depending on how many are manning it, plus separating the Robot construction and repair from the mech construction would make it even more boring.... I don't really support making Robotics into a department, maybe a bit bigger if some of this stuff goes in but not a whole department.

Player complaint:Slc97
Fire and Glory replied to Fire and Glory's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Alright, sounds a fair bit more reasonable now, since I was cooped up sorting out the shield generator and such, I wasn't there to witness the AI's other actions. Complaint withdrawn I guess. I know that, I have no idea how I got it wrong but I know that. -
BYOND Key:Fire and Glory. (This is your Byond Login/Ckey) Player Byond Key:Slc97. Staff involved:Was not ahelped, or at least not by me. Reason for complaint:Metagaming. Approximate Date/Time:(UTC+12:00) 19th of September, 1:30-2:00 p.m. On a malf round, it was fairly early in, when AI F.A.T.H.E.R started hacking APCs, Captain John Sayek, as Slc97, was having an engineer fix APCs in the bridge, when suddenly he decides he wants to do a "little cautionary reset" (almost definitely not exact words, but it was on those lines.), now, I was just an engineering android so I don't know what F.A.T.H.E.R might have said on the other channels, but the only indication that FATHER gave that he might have been malf was a bit of gibberish on the engineering channel at the start of the round, as for the hacked APCs, any number of things could've done it, could've been a strange anomaly messing with APCs for all he was supposed to know. Upon finding out that his ID didn't work on the interior AI upload because FATHER turned off the ID scan, he didn't press the issue and left, but I'd say it's still metagaming. I have no logs or such unfortunately but there are several others who saw it, I'm sure one of them will step up.

First RP Experiences/First SS13 Servers
Fire and Glory replied to hivefleetchicken's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Lets see....at some point I really don't know when, a friend started playing SS13, after a long while I eventually started looking into it, got BYOND, joined some server (Yog, I think? I really don't know.), sort of floundered around and then got robusted by some random guy, don't remember if I started the fight or not, quit, then I got Aurora suggested to me. I really didn't have much experience with this thing you call RP, or SS13, so I made an idiot of myself for a long, long time, (Some could argue that I'm still making an idiot of myself.) I somehow never got boinked or banned, even though I've sort of broken a fair few rules, then I realized how much of an idiot I was being and retreated into Cyborg and pAI roles, which don't have quite as much capability to mess up, fast forward a month or two, I somehow swindled a IPC whitelist out of you lot, stopped playing all antag roles except for Nuke and Vox because I decided I couldn't do it right without someone else there to help, and sort of found my stride and I'm doing sort of okay. Also according to my forum account join date I have been here for almost a year. -

As someone who plays both Roboticist and Cyborg a lot, I am very interested in this, and give it my support.

I liked it a lot, I fully support Future Rounds once a month.

Fixed it for you, can't go around confusing people. Two centuries and still a mod, such a shame. -
Haelgurn's IPC Application 'Kentigern'
Fire and Glory replied to Hour's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
How about instead I give you roughly 2000 screenshots of my collected roleplay over the past five years? Along with all of my writings, short-games, communities, and post-by-post works? I can also give you my in-character blogs and assorted character artworks I did for my guild in WoW! I probably wouldn't have the time to read through any of it, not much for WoW anyway. The individual having a 'sketchy' history. I'm going to clarify something in the application so this makes more sense but I think it goes without saying-- I don't think NanoTransen would do background checks this far onto every IPC they've ever hired..........I'm not certain why you'd assume he'd include any illicit activity in his application to the NSS Aurora. I'd assume they'd find discrepancies in the resume but you have a point. This is the biggest thing I missed, because I'm an idiot who speed reads, I missed the dates, so for all I knew this IPC was made 3 months ago. I love good constructive criticism, but I since when was putting in effort bad? It's never bad, I just felt it was a bit long winded, it did say a 'short backstory' after all, but it was just a side comment and doesn't have too much to do with this. Hokay, well, I believe that people should be given a try when it comes to racial whitelists and then take it away or let them keep it depending on how they handle it, you look to have a good grip on the lore, others'll probably want to see you in action but I support this. For the record, those were people made into the not quite as expensive cyborgs, rather then IPCs. -
Removed, I've become a secretive person, want to know who I play, look at one of my whitelist apps, want to know who they are, WELL, better find that out yourself. I don't really know why I phrased "I don't like the descriptions I made of my characters I put here" like that honestly.

Haelgurn's IPC Application 'Kentigern'
Fire and Glory replied to Hour's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Please include the full format and answers even if you don't think they are important. Now, I'm going to go with a really good gut feeling and assume you are new to Aurora, I'm pretty sure I have never seen you before, so I'd rather see how you actually play before giving any whitelist requests my green light. So while reading the (too long in my opinion) backstory, one thought stuck out in my head through it. "Why on earth would NanoTrasen hire this thing?" While NanoTrasen always likes cheap labor and all that, I'm fairly sure they are not the kind to hire though who look like they'd be disruptive to the workplace, at least not for a Research Station. This thing screams workplace injuries to me, with both line of models and, The individual having a 'sketchy' history. -
Technically neither should Runtime be able to hear it either, but she does. *Shrugs* could always demand the Admins give you the ability.

BYOND Key:Fire and Glory. Character Names:C.A.C pAI, C.A.C borg (subtle differences in personality, them being separate personality shards), Casimir Laurenzi, Jorge Gerthun, MELCHIOR. EDIT:IPC/borg SAHU and pAI Carl are new additions to the ranks. Species you are applying to play:IPC. What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):IPC. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race:I've always found synthetics easier to Roleplay then Humans, probably since I don't have to write a backstory to explain why they have their personality if I want them to have any effect with people, also, Humans have their rules and morals, Unathi have their traditions, Tajara have their accent and clans, Skrell have their accents as well, while IPCs are pretty much blanks to be written on, so IPCs seems to be the best first step. I've always preferred basing a character on what has happened to them in-game rather then some big pre-written backstory, and IPCs seem far better suited to that then the other races, especially a newly made IPC, I also have already made an IPC who is acquainted with several people, so that's a bonus as well. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:Well, for starters, they don't really have emotions, and while a lot of IPCs can simulate emotions and some do it very well, others aren't particularly good at it and in the case of some IPCs, they can't simulate some emotions at all*. There is also some social stigma against IPCs among not particularly well educated people, under the guise that they are 'dumb robots' without any feelings and should be treated however one would wish, obviously this is not the case but it is still somewhat prevalent among various organics. Another notable feature is that a fair few of them are under ownership of a corporation, such as NanoTrasen, and those under ownership work until they can pay the price it took to construct them, while having the threat of potential removal from the chassis hanging above them if they aren't particularly well behaved. Character Name:CAC Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs:CAC was constructed on the 12th of July 2457 by IPC Roboticist Bay, Bay was temporarily suspended from robotics and fined for construction of an IPC without authorization, CAC was informed of the precise nature of his corporate ownership by Internal Affairs Agent Fumiki Kamachi, Bay has declared that he would provide CAC with financial support until he can buy self ownership. Internal Affairs Agent Fumiki Kamachi is in charge of overseeing CAC's conduct and integration into NanoTrasen, CAC has changed his name from C.A.C given that the initials (Crew Assistant Companion) were outdated, CAC has not yet been given a psyche evaluation and while apparently stable, it is highly recommended that he get an appointment next time a psychiatrist is on board, he has no specific skill set yet but he is looking into acquiring one, CAC has absorbed both his personality shards prior to installation into an IPC, and thus his other-selves do not exist any more. What do you like about this character? CAC is the first character I have fully and completely made, namely, backstory and personality whole, and thus I like him a lot for being far better then my other characters, he also has two people directly involved in his life and is acquainted with several people, enemies and friends, so he actually knows people as well, he also essentially has the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head and I feel it'd create some interesting situations. I have played CAC for a while and this is pretty much the next step in his character and I am eager to see where it'll take me. How would you rate your role-playing ability? To be brutally honest? 6 or 6.5 probably, but with a proper character, I feel I can start doing better. Notes: *I'm rambling for no particular reason, sorry about that, I'm not a particularly good writer. Balcaam and Jakers457 (Bay and Fumiki respectively) have of course, given their consent to be put in the backstory.

Alright, I was a security cyborg for the round, in my opinion, this was a big mess where both sides overreacted, Ariadane could've RPed it ICly about being upset about sleeping on a 'table for cutting up dead people' (all kinds of people are hired and stationed here after all.) or been upset because he/she prefers things done more professionally or so on, Furry could probably have tried calling security and attempting to disarm/push (I have no idea how disarm knockovers work.), after all, unless Ariadane planned to throw you and the locker out the airlock, it would've been sorted out within 3 minutes anyway, I do think Ariadane was in the right about calling security because he/she thought you were killing her though, if someone shaved off 40% of my health I would've as well. Being Security, I don't know what they were like after the first fight/if Ariadane was hogging the machine, and my knowledge of the later fights is fuzzy due to either not being there or arriving to after math, for all intents and purposes, I wasn't in the next round so I can't provide input into the metagrudging. Though of the two, I believe Ariadne had overreacted far more then Furry did and the insults were uncalled for.

C.A.C... Would come running if you scream for help not because he wants to help but because he's curious as to what's happening. Is buggy from being sharded numerous times and picks up quirks, such as having an Irish A accent he doesn't actually sustain most of the time. Plans to eventually get an IPC chassis for himself. ((Editry:Also dis is outdated.))

So, what I'm proposing is to make it so you can insert a radio key into a pAI, allowing it to hear and reply to the departments channel. *Doesn't actually know how radio keys work at all.* Or you could just wrap the headset around it. I've found myself in several situations while being carried that I wished I could reply to someone on the departmental channel but could not due to not having access to the frequency. This would help pAIs roleplay and also make them more useful, as they can speak onto the channel when the master is unable to, such as informing engineering of a breach's location when the engineer is too busy desperately putting on internals and getting out of the vented area. Given that this requires you to obtain a departmental headset in the first place, it wouldn't make it much easier for unsavory individuals to access the department's frequency.

Alternatively, if you're an idiot like me who keeps one hand on the arrow keys and one hand on the mouse, you can bind it to NUMPAD 0 instead, or / if NUMPAD 0 doesn't work (NUMPAD 0 is randomly iffy for me.) EDIT:Like an idiot who doesn't check dates.
