Combining the Bar and the Library with a thin wall seperating the drunkards and the two thousand IQ intellectuals would be great and justify the open 'diner' area in the bar. Also, making books dissapear like holodeck items is silly. Instead, make the free books (In the initial bookshelves) act like holodeck items. Then the shit that actually gets printed is real.

Can I be unbanned from the discord as well?
-
Yeah, alright, thats a good point, but the disarm function cant distinguish between 'ERT sent specifically to capture or kill a bad guy' and 'Wheelchair bound traumatised war veteran nurse who has never done anything physical since the war'. If even one chucklefuck sees he wont be BRAPped immediately, he will run for the disarm, whether it makes sense for the characters personality and strength or not.

FearRP should be part of the natural way people RP. You shouldn't have to have a rule to tell ERPing blue haired nurses: "Please don't try to rush a entire merc team", but unfortunately since common sense is a rarity, we need it. However, maybe that isnt far enough, maybe it should be extended beyond: "Well, I'm greatly outnumbered and they're all using that auto-aim thing on me, guess I'll surrender.". Maybe we need the already touchy FearRP rule to also cover and prevent: - Chasing after antags who have fled into maintenance but still clearly have ways to kill you if you pursued. - Attempting to rush a better equipped but unaware antag. IRL In most cases where unarmed people try to 'get the jump' on a criminal/terrorist, they typically get severely injured/dont survive. That's 2018. You'd think people would be smarter then to think they're some sort of superhero and jump a armed criminal completely unarmed in 2460. - Being a ROBO COP who never surrenders despite unwinnable odds because "I'm security, I will defend this station even if it makes the Battle of Berlin and the Defense of the Alamo look like winnable and fair fights.' One of the most interesting antag rounds I was in had to be when a traitor shell sec officer held me, also a sec officer, at E-swordpoint, where I surrendered and swore to tell nobody. I say most interesting and not most fun cause I then failed to kill myself several times due to the guilt of hearing of other people being killed but being too scared to give up the secret of who I knew was atleast involved in these murder cases. Extending the definition of FearRP like such would improve RP and give antags more breathing room. I would support extending FearRP rules like such, since apparently its too difficult to FearRP without having the admins threatening you with the beanhammer, but unfortunately that would make the already pretty subjective subject of "What does my character fear?" have to be argued even more then it already is.

I was in that round, and I was psycho-bitch McStab who stabbed some kid to make them publicly bleed out and not receive medical service. Anyway yeah, I agree, thats why I chose the 'Order VS Chaos/Freedom' names. Counter revolutionary and loyalist both restrict.
-
This is more what I meant. While the usual win conditions stay, (Revs kill heads of staff and loyalists) The words revolutionary and loyalist narrows the scope of the game mode, and lowers the variation of RP. I dont support just turning it into gangs, it should still be about revolutions. Maybe just rename loyalist to something like counter-revolutionary, something like that, to imply they dont have to be 100% to NanoTrasens code, to give the loyalists more breathing room in 'I wanna do a thing' 'NT wouldn't allow you to do that thing to suppress a revolution' 'fuck guess I can only fight the revs and not generate my own interesting RP'

Been beaned for a while and I just had a thought. While reading some player complaints, I saw one in particular from a round I remember pretty well. Hivefleetchicken does cool shit in a clown mask. I fucking die. Fun stuff. About then I realized Rev was my favorite game mode, because the increasing divide in the station almost always results in a boiling point where it becomes a massive battle, and it gives alot of room for unique RP. One thing that I dont like is in the very naming. Generally, I think "Loyalist" and "Revolutionary" are pretty outdated and restrict the scope of the game mode, preventing it from being 'Two ideologies fight to change the order on the station' and instead making it 'Sec officer valiantly defends incredibly poor decision making and amoral choices by NT from protesting assistants'. So why not rename it? Something cool like Rev is 'Chaos' and Loyalist is 'Order'. This name change alone would allow so much more freedom and allow for gimmicks other then 'What really stupid thing did NT do this time?', and would allow for loyalists to have more freedom in fighting the Rev, as loyalist is a very loose definition.

BYOND Key: Mogelix Total Ban Length: Permanent, second perma-ban. Banning staff member's Key: garnascus Reason of Ban: Repeated instances of IC in OOC. Reason for Appeal: I've been banned for a year now, and over this year I've matured a lot. I'm pretty young to the point where high school was just beginning for me when I got banned. Over the school year, discipline in my personal life has skyrocketed, and I'm now a way more mature person. I'm in a lot of RP communities, unfortunately, none of them are really that fun or up to this servers RP standard, and the reason seems obvious. Most but not all of the communities I'm in are small discord RP servers, where all suspense or suprise is ruined due to being able to just see what the other players are doing. This has changed my opinion on the no IC in OOC. I no longer see it as a annoying rule that's too heavily enforced. I think its near vital to any fun RP scenario. School holidays are here and I'm more then willing to try this server again now that I'm smarter and more mature. I acknowledge my plethora of mistakes and how I threw away my chances. I've waited a year to write this appeal, and I'd gladly wait another year to write another one..

Hey, I've been banned for a while now and I've put up a failed unban request. Does the rule that states that all verdicts are final mean I shouldn't even bother making another request? Do I risk a forum ban? If so that would suck.

+1 IMO, I've logged back in and this sent me way back to that time where I was in a special event with some sort of cultist planet, then somehow, Noir became a cultist. I probably pissed myself, not because I was scared he would fly around a corner and headgib me, but because the RP had me watching my back IRL. I think we should have cultist IPCs because they open up so much cool new RP opportunities. I think it's a necessity to sometimes break established logic for the sake of cool moments like this. IPCs are naturally cool antags, so I've gotta support this, It's better then another science cult round. I think IPCs should be modifiable, so one hand acts as a constructesque 'building hand', and the other can hold a weapon. I feel like we're overthinking this, we don't have to turn their oil into blood, and make them function like downgraded human cultists, we should overhaul the entire interaction of synthetics with mystic beings.

Because I don't actively try and sabotage the community or break rules out of spite, I do something dumb once in a while that gets me in trouble and ultimately banned/warned. My first IC in OOC permaban was for revealing that I was a ninja like a idiot, this one was for calling the common channel cancer, Garnascus told me IC in OOC is not Metagamable IC stuff in OOC, and fair enough, I wouldn't staff complaint this, but I feel like there's a bit of a difference in how this should've been punished. If it wins me any bonus points, I helped a new player by telling them in LOOC not to put smilies in IC, and then showed them how a 'me' works. All of this doesn't answer your question, so you're probably right that I don't deserve a third chance, and that's okay with me, there's other servers out there, but this is probably the best, and I guess I've just 'wasted' this all.

BYOND Key: Mogelix Total Ban Length: Permaban Banning staff member's Key: (This is the staff member's BYOND key/Ckey who placed the ban) Reason of Ban: Repeated instances of IC in OOC Reason for Appeal: I want to come back to this community, it’s a lot of fun and the stricter rules make things less of a clusterfuck, yet at the same time, I’ve shown really shitty repetitive IC in OOC behaviour, all I could really ask for is a ‘downgrade’ to a temporary ban, I don’t disagree with my ban, and had it coming for continuing my behaviour after multiple bans and warning. I was unsure when I should post this, maybe I should’ve waited for the ban to settle in, I don’t know.

@ben10083 I agree the weapon is horrendously overpowered as I first suggested it, and will be tweaking some of the numbers and details.

After completing Hitman: Blood Money brain storming for a while, I got an idea for two new weapons of scaling power and accessibility. Fiber Wire Only buyable from a syndicate up link for 7 TC, this is the best garrote weapon. in operation, the weapon must be wielded by both hands, 'stretched' (by clicking the fiber wire with itself while wielding it) , looped around the targets neck (Click on target with harm intent), and then waiting (The target cannot resist nor move, but taking any damage instantly cancels the process) for one progress bar to finish (should take six -seven seconds), when it does, it plays the noose sound effect, and causes the following effects: Crushing of the windpipe (No O2 for target) Crushing of the larynx (Target cannot talk) After the first progress bar is completed, the player can either leave their target to eventually suffocate, or continue the strangulation, causing another progress bar (should take four seconds), that when finished, instantly kills the target even though that's not what it does in real life. Additionally, the corpse should be blood free from examiners, and the only sign that their dead is through the examination menu, "They have a stupid expression on their face..." allowing smarter assassins to prop up their targets corpse on a chair, creating the illusion they're merely asleep. When the fiber wire is not stretched, it's invisible even to examiners, making concealment incredibly easy. Piano wire Has a chance to spawn after dismantling a piano. While functionally the same as the fiber wire, the target of this weapon can attempt to resist, taking four resistances to escape. Additionally, both the first and second strangulation phases make the noose sound effect. Feel free to add more downsides. Cable Coil/Makeshift Garrote While I find this one very optional, It'd be nice to see some sort of incredibly makeshift garrote by crafting two garrote handles (one steel rod each, and combining them with a cable coil to make a incredibly shitty garrote. I'm sorry I didn't flesh out the Piano Wire a bit more out, thinking of meaningful downsides is incredibly difficult.

Another good complaint, but unbold some of the stuff please. I was caught in this incident, as one of the few people he did legit kill, but then he proceeded to shoot up all of medbay while I was being clone-repaired, only to be cut to pieces by a survivor chemist with no prior surgical experience. A... interesting round, but still pretty dodgy rule-wise.

+1 for the cause, but this complaint is really badly written. It doesn't detail all of the bullshit he did that round. Admittedly, he did do some legit kills (I was killed in a dark maintainence tunnel with a admirable amount of RP), but there was a ridiculous amount of... dodgy kills. -
I find this agree-able and will likely disable hearing OOC.

cool and good spess game for when you're perma'd from aurora
Mogelix replied to Mogelix's topic in Other Games
At first glance anyways, it's not really. Speaking as someone who's been playing both recently. Heat Signature is ultimately fairly easy so long as you manage your resources properly, and only starts getting difficult when you run out or never had them in the first place, which is the fun part. While Hotline moiami works on kicking your ass from the get go regardless of all conditions. Very different games. Git rekt Australia New Zealand is better yeah but your gay anti cyber bullying law passed, so australia's better. -
BYOND Key: Mogelix Total Ban Length: Permanent Banning staff member's Key: SirCatnip Reason of Ban: Cannot copy and paste for some odd reason: Manually written down: Consistent IC in OOC after multiple warning and a ban against this logged when spoken to by staff. 5/10/2017 Reason for Appeal: I completely believe that Sir Catnip's reasoning was correct and even a little bit forgiving. My major problems are with these rules: "No IC in OOC Avoid discussing events of the current round in OOC. Exceptions might apply for minor, funny events, but use common sense. Note that IC in OOC is permitted after the transfer/emergency shuttle has left the station." Anti-self antagonizing rules. "Characters must be believable, and well-rounded." I do not wish the server grief, and most of my problems with IC in OOC are slip of the finger "Oops I shouldn't have said that", and not because of real malicious intent to ruin the round for everyone else. My adminhelp harassment of Sir Catnip ("how do i import all star into the piano") created a 'straw that broke the camels back' situation, and I apologize for my adminhelp harassment. I would happily write down all of the rules and interpret them in a alternative manner with the same meaning to prove that I have read through them. As for logging mid-talk, I don't want to go all "I'm a very bad person but now that i've exposed myself i'm immune to criticism", but I feel this is my only defense on this point. I apologise for my actions, and would be fine with being unbanned with conditions (Such as a Permanent OOC Mute.)

meme review under spoiler Heat Signature Summary: Heat Signature is at first glance incredibly similar to Hotline Miami, atleast that's what I'm told because Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is banned in Australia. Oh well. When the game starts, you choose from four randomly generated characters sitting in a bar, all with their unique quirks and weapons. All four of these characters have a personal mission, I.E "Kill the (faction name) officer who killed my (family or other person)", But the common objective of these four people is to spread the 'Independent' station's influence, freeing other stations from their faction. Your first action should be to select a randomly generated mission, and exit your space station. Your missions (at this stage of development) are usually to sabotage a ship, or assassinate someone aboard a ship. Every mission you complete earns you money, which you can use to buy new items and to pay a retired veteran mercenary to give you hints on your characters personal mission. Everytime you die, your character is lost forever, and you can choose from another four randomly generated characters. Gameplay: I will be assuming that gameplay is everything after you leave your station and into your pod. When you leave the station, your camera will zoom out and you will see the entire randomly generated galaxy. If you're on a mission a arrow will point you towards your objective, otherwise, its completely free roam and your free to fuck around with the factions. When you approach a ship you can automatically or manually scroll in the camera, you must then try to attach onto the docking port while avoiding heat detectors, (Which only detect you if you are using a thruster.) in one of the most entertainingly fidgety processes I've ever experienced, (it feels so annoying when you almost latch onto the ship but narrowly miss it and bump off, yet when you smoothly latch onto the docking port in one smooth motion, it's incredibly satisfying!) Once you've docked onto the ship, you enter what is arguably the main segment of the game, infiltration. Every factions ships have different layouts, yet are all randomly generated. During the infiltration phase, you need to complete your objective (if you have one), get out before the ship docks at a station (which can be stopped by killing the captain.), and then escape. Guards will react according to the situation, meaning it's possible to influence guards into traps, ambushes, or other deviations from their patrol path. Another core feature is the ability to stop time whenever you want, giving you time to plan your path and do really cool shit like pausing time and knocking out four guards with a wrench before they can fire a single shot. Once you have caused a bit of havok, you can choose to liberate a station, which can give you major benefits in the long run. My only complaint about this feature is how the game describes cool missions your character completes... without actually starting a mission on the station. This is a wasted opportunity in my opinion, as it almost teasing the player with tales of killing the leader of the station with dual wielded swords! Final Rating: 8.5/10 One of the most fun games I've played in a while, fun gameplay, nice visuals, allows many different playstyles, and overall just good. Thanks for reading my review, and please give feedback so I can help improve my chances of getting unbanned reviewing skills.
