There is a crashed syndie ship that exists that I have made. It contains a deathsquad ripley, a random energy weapon, and a corpse of a syndicate operative. The ripley is locked behind reinforced wall and a bolted vault door, and to get to the corpse and energy weapon, you'll need to cross an openspace gap. I might add one or two carp somewhere, not sure.

Asteroid Dungeons; mini areas on the outskirts of the asteroid that miners/explorers/whatever can encounter. They're basically pre-made small maps that are then loaded into the existing asteroid map that contain treasures and usually hostile mobs guarding them. Everything works and is coded. The only things that need to be made are the areas themselves and other special details, such as: - The type of loot found. What should the miners be able to find? Guns? Swords? Cash? Magical artifacts? Traitor items? - The type of hostile mobs guarding said loot, if any. Should it be heavily guarded based on the loot inside the "dungeon", or should the difficulty only be limited to the luck of finding it? - The limit of the type of areas found. Would it be appropriate for cult ruins to exist? Should a secret vault be located somewhere? Should a secret syndicate headquarters be located somewhere? Should it only be limited to carp/cavern nests? - Whether or not traitors/crew are informed of the area. Should traitors be able to buy a GPS that shows the location of crashed syndicate ships or supply drops? Should command have a top-secret memo describing the location of a potentially crashed ship or a vault that needs investigating? I'll be blunt and say that in respect to what I can and cannot make, I'm only interested in hearing from the developers. Your opinions on how we shouldn't have a cult ruin are appreciated but chances are I won't follow through with that suggestion if indeed I am allowed to put in.

The feedback is fine on the abilities, and contracts, but I despise your closing statement. If you think that, for some reason, despite LITERALLY being the devil, that it's going to evolve into peaceantag then I don't know what to say. Literally every single gamemode in existence can be dismissed with "peace antag :(". It's not a valid complaint, and I hope you don't expect me to limit freedom and introduce murderbone objectives or something. The most I can do is force the station time to be 22:30, and at the 1:30 roundtime mark, it will be midnight and the devil will take it's true form regardless of souls collected, however they will be susceptible to mortal wounds if they don't have enough souls. That way you can have your 30 minutes of mindless, forced action for people who still think this is an MRP server. The devil can be a dick if they wanted. They could force people to sign contracts given how they're the fucking devil and can do anything as long as they have followers. Hell, if you're concerned about it, have your second in command murder those who refuse your contracts. And the near-immediate reveal is intentional. The only way a devil would get discovered is if they're bad, or if the person accepting the contract is a no-fun allowed type loser, but in that case they'll get fucking shunned and laughed at if they screamed over comms "HALP, THE DEVIL IS OFFERING ME WEALTH, HALP." If you genuinely think it's an issue, I can make it so that the devil can obtain the change form ability at 0 souls so they can keep their real identity a secret. As for the prisoner meme, the devil is immortal. They cannot be stunned, however it is likely that some devils will be fucking unrobust as shit and somehow get caught despite all their abilities. They'll have the ability to break cuffs. Your main critique of this gamemode isn't because the fact that the concept is bad, but because the antags have the potential to be really bad. I really don't like this critique.

There is literally no reason why this wouldn't pass a trial unless people are willing to admit that they should also remove wizard, rev, cult, and ninja given how this is a very similar gamemode but entirely better than all of them.

there are good memes and bad memes saying that we shouldn't add differing features for unathi because it would allow for less traps is a good meme saying that we shouldn't add differing features for unathi because people could just shift click them anyway is a bad meme ignoring a shitty oversight just because it can be fixed by a simple mechanic isn't good game design and also a bad meme when making a suggestion in the suggestions forum, you can either choose between submitting a full product, everything coded, and risking you ending up wasting your time because it's rejected by the community for mostly arbitrary reasons, or choosing to submit a partial product that's incomplete, but still rejected by the community because they don't understand the concept of what a WIP is.

i love this new shift clicking meme, that's not the actual point of why I think this is needed but memes are impossible to stop no matter how wrong they are

tl;dr copying /tg/'s devil gamemode into Aurorastation HRP and making tweaks and additions to fit more in HRP There will be one antag: The devil. The devil is assigned to a random crewmember with a devil antag role set. Their objective is to buy the souls of crewmembers using contracts. There will be 7 different contracts: Lust - Gives the contract wielder a love potion. Drinking a love potion will cause you to fall in love with the nearest crewmember. Gluttony - The contract holder will never go hungry, however they can eat as much as they want. They will forever have the fat disability/status. Greed - Gives the contract holder a winning 1 million credit lottery ticket. Sloth - Gives the contract welder a slave that does anything for them, if a slave is available (ghost roll.) Wrath - Gives the contract welder a random weapon. Envy - Gives the contract welder an all access Captain's ID. Pride - Makes the contract welder a direct second-in-command for the devil. They share almost all the same powers as the devil. The devil has some rules that they must follow, these are mostly mechanically enforced. Firstly, the devil cannot directly attack, injure, or kill anyone. This will be directly enforced by giving it pacifism, and hopefully enforced by server moderators if they find a way around it. The devil is encouraged to let those under his contract to do the dirty work, if necessary. Secondly, the devil cannot deal with someone carrying religious items, such as a bible or a cross. They cannot enter areas that have been blessed by holy water or otherwise. Thirdly, the devil's power is limited by how many souls they collect. Once they have enough souls (I'd say about 10-15 depending on server count.) they will pretty much win the game. Thirdly, while not a rule, it is encouraged that the devil actually doesn't do things that their subjects can't. If the devil wants to steal an item, they're encouraged to let their followers steal it for them. Their abilities include: - Immortality, unlocked at start. Devils will be immortal to all weapons, unless they've been blessed by holy water, or are it's roundstart "death" item. - Phase-shifting, unlocked at 1 soul. Devils can teleport anywhere on the screen, as long as it's dark. 30 second cooldown. - Shape-shifting, unlocked at 2 souls. Devils can shape-shift into any mortal being they've encountered. A devil can only shape shift once every 5 minutes, but they can shapeshift back into their original form at any time. - Teleportation, unlocked at 4 souls. Devils can draw runes on the floor and teleport back to them at will, with a 5 minute cooldown. If there is no rune on the station, they will teleport to a random location on the station with a 10 minute cooldown penalty instead. - Corrupt, unlocked at 6 souls. Devils can corrupt an object, removing all holy related buffs/debuffs on the object. It is entirely possible to corrupt a priest, so that they may give into a contract. 30 second cooldown. - True form, unlocked at [number_of_crew/2 + 1] souls. Devil now into a true devil. All those under devil's contract will also turn into demons, and the devil is immune to absolutely everything except for one thing... True form isn't an excuse to slaughter every single living being. The devil's #1 goal is to collect all the souls on the station, but if it is acceptable according to the rules, then it would be fine. As for the thing I mentioned... there should be some way to kill the devil. Perhaps through honorable combat using a sword, I'm not sure. I don't like the RNG Devil conditions as you're forced to roleplay a certain devil. I want to make it incredibly open ended as to what the devil can or cannot be.

The gas masks I tested fit perfectly. Masks weren't meant to be skin-tight, so most of the gas masks actually cover up the new design. And I was actually going to do the optional body coloring thing as a backup if Jackboot wasn't comfortable with this change.

[Unresolved] Player Complaint - Scheveningen

Harassment was never mentioned once in this complaint nor it was implied. Your issue doesn't seem to be with me, but with other people as a whole. -
[Unresolved] Player Complaint - Scheveningen
BurgerBB replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
No, that's not the reason. As soon as this complaint was made in the first place, the dude's behavior improved significantly to the point where they were they were more behaved than the average person. They were honestly the most well-behaved users that would actually leave feedback and behave like any adult would, but as soon as this complaint was closed they were misbehaving again not only to me but towards other members of the community, like jackboot. The argument with jackboot was just fucking appalling that revealed so much about the situation at hand. What I'm saying is probably borderline flaming and ad hominem, but I strongly believe they're the type of person who enjoys provoking people. They're adamantly proud of the fact that they have a psych major, even going as so far to mention it during our initial agreement when they attempted to cause provocaution when the issue was already solved. They complained over a post I made on reddit, as seen here: , and I agreed not to make posts like that anymore towards him. They make the exact same joke again, as seen here, https://www.reddit.com/r/SS13/comments/8olw9q/the_absolute_state_of_aurorastation_suggestion/. The joke itself did not offend me, the thing that offended me is that they did the very thing that caused them to get incredibly upset and go on their march of justice combined with that just fucking awful argument they had with jackboot. The deal is broken, so now the complaint is is being reopened. -
It's a WIP sprite to prove concept. Do you have an issue with the concept or not?

https://imgur.com/a/OPNvjkc What it looks like in game. I thinbk it looks a little derpy but the shading can be tweaked to make it look more fearsome.

>someome giving a -1 because it respects the loredev's wishes of still being hard to determine gender at a glance, as well as making it harder to create unathi traps absolute state of aurora
-
I have not designed the sprites for front and back yet. I just want approval first because I had a filly you'd be iffy on facial dimorphism. Edit: here is a rough design.
-
It always bothered me that males and females use the exact same facial sprites. It seems like almost always females would get confused for males, and vice versa. I propose a change to the male sprite to look more fuckable masculine so that there are actual differences people can spot. Top one is male, bottom one is female. Males look more fuller, and masculine, while females are the original sprite and look lithe and feminine. There will be drawbacks, however. Facial sprites will need to be redone; facial spikes will need to be limited to males only and re-sprited to fit the new facial structure. If the loredevs don't like this, then I could always convert it into a cosmetic option.

-2 I like none of the ideas presented this thread because it punishes the wrong people. I'm honestly baffled by some of the suggestions in this thread and I pray to god that they're never implemented. Making DNC standard unless stated is awful, it punishes new players and that's the worst thing you can do in a server. Removing cloning altogether is awful, as it punishes non-antags who fall victim to shit level antags. Want to actually punish people who don't give a shit about death? Cloning people will register them unfit for duty and assigned to visitor status. No more will you have officers pop out of cloning and immediately jump back into action. That would solve almost all problems with cloning.

[Resolved] Player Complaint - FASCISMFORTHOSEWHOWANTIT
BurgerBB replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
> So what is the point of this complaint? A mod told me to make a player complaint so I decided to do that. And when I meant by "it's not obviously against the rules." I mean it isn't an open and shut case. I had another instance where a Captain shut down my MALF gimmick before and that was dealt with here: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=10331 However, that was only dealt with because of metagaming. I don't think there are any CLEAR instances of metagaming here. -
BYOND Key: BurgerBB Game ID: bUG-aN7t Player Byond Key: FASCISMFORTHOSEWHOWANTIT Staff involved: None Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? No. Approximate Date/Time: June 2nd, 2018, 11:50PM PST Reason for complaint: Round started. I joined as cyborg and apparently the AI was traitor. Given how I am eager to help out in any gimmick and that my zeroth law said to complete the AI's objectives, I asked the AI what their objectives were. No response. I asked again, a few minutes later. No response. I asked again, a few minutes later. "No, I don't need anything." They then started to show signs of malfunctioning, by simply just stating it. They might as well been stating it because they were broadcasting messages like "DEATH DESTRUCTION LIFE SKIN FLESH JOCKSTRAP HELP ME DESTRUCTION DEATH" which just painted a huge target on their back as well as any cyborgs under them. It was very clear that the AI did not want the other cyborgs involved in their gimmick. Thankfully, it was autotraitor and I ended up getting traitor, so I asked the roboticist at the time to unlaw sync me "just in case" so if the AI does anything I could just go "WASN'T ME" given how they were not including me in whatever they were doing. I then planned for a gimmick, "The Spider King" but given how I was unlucky with xenobiology spawns, that shortly turned to a horror gimmick. Unfortunately, that something else was cockblocked by this AI on multiple occasions. It started out very small. Stuff not complaining about, such as the AI going "THIS CYBORG IS MAKING SOME PRETTY CRAZY SHIT." (almost ad verbatim) and I genuinely thought that they were just being a memy new player. Then it started to get just fucking awful. The AI was pointing out that I was storing things in lockers inside xenobiology, there goes putting surprises in lockers. I then used the hand teleporter to teleport a giant tree to the bridge, and when the captain encountered it 30 minutes later, the AI was the first to throw me under the bus, saying that I was directly responsible for the tree despite no reason to state such things do so. Note that they were saying all of this despite the fact that they were very clearly malfunctioning. This severely limited what I could do, and it was quite frankly really insulting given that they were also antag pursuing a selfish gimmick. At one point, they wanted to self-destruct me according to another player. Not even lock me, but straight-up self-destruct me. What prevented them from doing this is the fact that they accidentally blew up the wrong cyborg. This is just ultra insulting and genuinely makes me not want to play cyborg due to the fear of being linked to a really bad traitor AI. While none of the things they did were obviously against the rules, it was just really bad antaging that ruined other people's gimmicks.

[Unresolved] Player Complaint - Scheveningen
BurgerBB replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Sure. If things happen again then I will point to this. -
This thread has turned into a clusterfuck for some reason. I have absolutely 0 clue why someone else is posting their own mapping suggestions in here. Regardless, here is the almost finished design of the science main level. I will be working on xenobotany itself next.
-
It gives me immense depression when people complain about things that already existed in the previous research map and gives it a -1 based on the incredibly flawed logic of "we don't need this." The entire purpose of this was to move Xenobotany to another level and then make the remaining empty space used. This meant moving stuff around more. I made some tweaks. Hopefully this keeps people happy instead of a near-instant dismissal.

Remap of robotics.

I didn't do the medical remap? None of this is good advice.
