As is current, XO is a job title tends to imply and cause some confusion about them being second in command when they're not. I propose we change the name to something less misleading, personally I'm a fan of Administrative Officer but here's a list of suggested names from the chat we had in #serious_discussion as well to give ideas. Not to mention that he himself did not even have protective equipment on. He was asking the person cooking to make K'ois donuts with them for 'Vaurcae consumption' despite the fact there were no Vaurca on shift. This of course caused a mass panic and the room had to be evacuated. They had to tell Mr. Bertram to return the K'ois to the labs multiple times before he said fine and walked off. The warden had to clear out the the bar in a biosuit as the area was contaminated. The OM ordered replacements for the entire kitchen which Pickle, the Chef who arrived after the incident had to spend time setting up. Despite all this Bertram was not charged in anyway or put on records. She does not entirely understand why and she brought it up with the warden a few times. At the end of the shift the warden admitted to feeling a bit under the weather and they really should have charged him for Gross Negligence but they were 'tunnel visioned' on something else at the time. It's a game I've always found myself coming back to eventually. I love the complexity of it combined with the the opportunities for roleplay such complexity encourages. It's also been a great way to meet new people who I've made close friendships with. Why do you play on Aurora?: I believe it's the only HRP server that's really left at this point. I love getting deep into lore and developing characters. I find Auroras lore to be pretty compelling and interesting. The atmosphere of the server is very welcoming and is a pleasure to play on. What do moderators do?: Moderators make sure that the rules are being followed and that the round is able to go through smoothly. Helping players with their concerns and complaints. They are there to help new players learn the game and get help make sure the game is enjoyable for everyone who is playing. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Being a moderators means being able to do all of the above, while treating all the players respectfully. It means you're invested in the server and want to make it a lovely place. It means you are able to help help those with questions from a place of trust and earnestness. I spend so much time on the server and enjoying it and I want to help keep this community what it is and help out where I can. I'd say I'm also very curious, I like diving deep into things and figuring out the why of things. Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon. Short Summary: Amara always had an interest in the stars and space growing up. Upon reaching adulthood, she found herself working in a low level government administrative position. With new formation of the NKA's Mercantile Flotilla in 2463, Amara realized she could achieve her dream of reaching the stars, and soon found herself employed within it as a pilot. As the phoron shortage hit, however, Amara once again ended up handling more administrative duties, rather than outright piloting. She grew exhausted of the life she was being forced into, and eventually took the advice given to her by multiple PMCG employees that were contracted to protect the ship. She left Adhomai using money she saved, and ensured a position as a Bridge Crewman within the SCC onboard the newly launched SCCV Horizon. Thanks for the advice! Sometimes my characters start to merge into one another a little bit, especially when tired. That round definitely wasn't my best, was a bit tired and was my last round before bed. Wasn't expecting to get tator and I missed quite a few things I could have done better.

That's fair. In terms of broken basic, Nasr is one of the ones that doesn't have this limitation. I wouldn't want to have a member of command unable to communicate clearly, especially if they're a Tajara. Besides this I do have plans for human heads of staff. I've just been playing my Taj alot more recently to expand their backstories/personality since they are the newest chars I currently have.

Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? With the phoron shortage going on Rasul has had less time piloting and more time commanding. The SCC recently undocked a new ship, the Horizon. Nasr has worked piloting/commanding a small shuttle within the SCC for three years. With this new ship comes new opportunities for advancement once again. Other than that it hasn't been a huge amount going on in Tau Ceti that has affected her career directly. Such as members of the Free Council getting temporary citizenship status within the Coalition of Colonies, which doesn't directly affect her but which she watches with great interest to see what happens. She easily falls under the ideals of Moderate Al'mariism. She is a fan of Nated but not as much of a loyalist to him as his party generally is. She believes democracy is important and that it will lead to Adhomai improving overall, with a more equal look onto things. She wants to start a new life for herself, simply. She heard rumours about Biesel, and specifically Mendell city, that it wasn't too bad. That if she could get away she'd get to start anew without as much drama, in a safer environment.

She hates the PRA, she sees them as the ones who took away her family, whom she fought them in the second revolution. She believes that the PRA is nothing more than a savage dictatorship that wants to control all of Adhomai, forcing the working class into work camps. How reliant on megacoporations they seem to be annoys her greatly. An unstable, but very real threat that is the root problem of all the issues on Adhomai. Regarding the NKA, she hasn't had many interactions with their culture, so is rather indifferent to them. Seeing them as silly, not really comprehending the ideals of the NKR. She equates them to a more unstable, underdevleoped PRA, but with even more horrible megacoporation corruption. The NKA is very corrupt to her, with noble families taking all that they can for themselves. She basically believes that the NKA is just an insignificant backwater gang country that's bound to fall, and is confused by the fact it hasn't yet.

Used to play them back on Bay and various other HRP servers. I've always been interested in the lore behind the Tajara. With the very culture they are based off of is on the verge of collapse after their uprisings and lots of interior drama. I enjoy their aurora of suspicion they give off, but being extremely loyal to the ones they are close to. The constant updates along side all that is very nice. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Plenty of thing lore-wise, and mechanically make the Tajara different from playing a human. From the most obvious like the Taj speaking in third person, to the fact that Tajara are so dangerously divided. Mechanics being such as night vision and slashing. The race themselves is super conservative, with a mentality that their own matter than the rest. With the recent uplifting Tajara are still mistreated more than most. They are still figuring out their place in the stars, of what they will become, it is uncertain what will become of them in even the near future. Character Name: Afya Kassab Please provide a short backstory for this character: Afya Kassab was born in 2437, a Hharar Tajara on the outskirts of Crevus. She was raised by her parents alongside the community until she was fifteen. Her parents disappeared in a skirmish between the DPRA and the PRA, both having signed up to the Adhomai Liberation Army only months before. She is a follower of S'rand'marr, with particular worship towards Messa. Having always seen and related with the mutual loneliness she feels in her. Being a follower and unable to find or see her parent’s potential bodies, she is devastated. Having always been a curious mind, tinkering with various electronics, she got herself into a technical school focusing on automation and mechanics. Putting herself deep into work to not think about the past. Afya believes in the DPRA and in the civilian government but realizes a lot of work needs to be done by a lot of people. She looks up to Nated and the hope that he brings. As such in 2456 Afya joined the Adhomai Liberation Army, supporting the civilian government as a mechanic in the back lines. During this time she would learn the basics of Siik'tajr. She helped repair and modify old Mata'ke Rafama II tanks while in her off time tinkering with various newly introduced robotics. After the second revolution was finished in 2461 Afya was discharged from the ALA, no longer required, she was given half of what she was promised. After being let go with no job to hope for Afya would use all the money she had to pay a now ‘legalized’ Ha’rron to get her away from the planet and to the Biesel Republic as a refugee, hearing that things are much better there. The only thing to her name the clothes on her back and a portrait of the former supreme command Nated. Once in space the rickety ship she was being transported on had a sudden breach, and as a result her arm would become extremely hurt, to eventually be replaced by a cheap prosthetic in Biesel. She would end up in Mendell city district six, in which she would get a little education to finish her training before becoming a licensed machinist, resulting in her eventually being among the stars. What do you like about this character? Afya is honestly a character/character type I've always had around/played. I enjoy playing the reserved tinkerer. Someone who has seen thing but keep it to themselves. Shy and reserved but extreme for the ones she cares about. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Never been a fan of this question personally. As someone who's been playing SS13 for eleven years and run plenty of events, I like to think I'm decent at it. Always do my best to stay in character.
