Do people do people do people?
-
I've seen someone say once, not on these forums though: "You never know who's behind that monitor, if those are really their fetishes or if that was just sarcasm, it might seem like a joke in game but that person might really have fantasies about what they're actually saying" Still, that's unknown, we don't have to act as if they were actually trying to hunt you down and do it in real life. Take everything with a pinch of salt. Some people are offended? Ahelp it calmly. You think that's just a funny LOOC. Alright, don't answer to it and just keep playing. They keep doing it? Then ahelp it for sure. But we shouldn't go hunting for something we believe it might be one way. It's subjective.

[Accepted] YourDaddy117 IPC Application
Lolziam replied to YourDaddy117's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I usually keep myself away from answering apps, but this one, I always liked IPC's and I like seeing more and more players applying for IPC whitelists. Well, the app itself is good, but, the good part comes after the beginning of the application where, since it is your first post on the forums it seems, it made me question if this application had any hope. It does You could have done a wee bit nicer with tbe part where you explain the differences between a human and an IPC. Whereas indeed everything is just 0's and 1's for an IPC, they differ. Some are pre programmed positronics that follow a certain task, speak in a certain way and you'd think they're just a humanoid stationbound. Other IPC's are more like a human. Of course, to a certain degree. But they can speak more like a human, act very similar and even learn new things. Well, I won't go blabbering anymore since I don't do well with writing comments in the morning, but I wanted to leave this comment as a sincere display of support towards your IPC app. +1 -
[Accepted]Kermit's Dionae Application
Lolziam replied to kermit's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Solid player whose RP is always top notch. Been interacting a lot with Windsor, Jack Welbourne and the like. Their RP was immersive and had great depth where the opportunity was presented. Especially pain-RP ing a crying boy. Kermit likes making up his stories pretty credible and of course, he seems to know lore. I trust he'll make an amazing Dionae since he is careful about each one of his characters. See: Faith Windsor +1 -
I just learned you could do this on Recent Status Updates.
The internet is truly amazing.

I'll keep the colour the same as on the wiki. That being 141, 31, 11. Since to me at first that looked a lot like beige. Though it still looks very close to it and I like it. Generally I like all the Zo'Ra colours, the base one being quite fine -
[Accepted] Lolziam | Vaurca Application
Lolziam replied to Lolziam's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Hello! Thank you. I am happy to apply and I'd be happy to offer even more answers regarding my character, Ghrix. 1. Ghrix as an unbound and curious vaurca, finds himself in a very lucrative position once he starts working for those around him and entering in negotiations with the humans and other species alike. For him, constructions, machinery and the purpose of creation itself is what he had known. Living in VR and among his native culture, he would have never thought that other species would, for example, try to cook food in so many different ways. For Ghrix, for the vaurcae, food was not significant for it's looks, or taste. But only for the energy it offered them. Ghrix sees integration as the first gate that opens a world where species will live among each other freely. To learn about the humans and compare his own way of life with them, was of great joy. Finding out that humans communicate so much with each other after seeing endless waves of vaurcae, the bound ones, simply chittering once or twice with little to no interaction. Seeing how humans have all minds of their own, he found himself among species that he could communicate with and learn more, through words. But words were another problem for Ghrix. Given that he was just a vaurca worker, though an unbound, he had it easier to learn Ceti Basic through his negotiations and what others were presenting to him over the hivenet. His spelling was not correct, others were looking down on him for it. But he was intrigued. To speak something so different, that had so many words. He still does not understand much. He appreciates the human culture, and not just the human culture, but Ghrix is truly willing to further integrate himself within the new community and mix what he was taught on Titan Prime with what he is learning now. 2. Aside from the standard augments that Ghrix received once assigned to the NSS Aurora, he had very few augments that enhanced his ability to be communicative, as well as the limb prosthetics that allowed him to work freely in the slums and now, on board the NSS Aurora. 3. A child of Athvur and most importantly, an unbound vaurca, Ghrix wishes to keep himself out of political matters, though, he understands how integration requires politics. That is why he sees the act of "contribution" as being the first and foremost important requirement. As he is part of the Zo'Ra, he understands the reason behind funding the TCFL. He agree with it and does not bring such subjects. Especially not during trivial conversations. -
BYOND Key: Lolziam Character Names: Species you are applying to play: Vaurca Worker What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Beige Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Lately I had been interacting with several vaurca characters on station, the unique perspective that they have, the way they communicate and react to those around them sparked great interest in me to play this specific race and expand my roleplay on the server through them. I am keen on learning new things, on exploring the server lore and experiencing myself what new races have to offer. Being the first alien whitelist I apply for, I thought that nothing would be more formidable than to try the Vaurca, which are, quite complex. Reading about how they grow, live and experience afterlife through VR made me wish to roleplay this myself. The vaurca hivenet as well, their hierarchy and how they currently find themselves within the society is also intriguing when it comes to roleplay. Just because most of them are discriminated or seen as lower beings, but also formidably resourceful. They are the perfect alien race to roleplay with. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The most notable reason is their biology and appearance. Vaurca, as opposed to humans, require phoron to breathe, Their body, consisting of an exoskeleton that serves it's purpose to aid them in their work, differentiating from one vaurca type to another. Internally, their organs resemble the same organic pattern of an insect. As they serve the purpose of aiding their body into being more hardened to be able to complete more work. Socially, vaurcae have a hard time, depending on the location where they are present, to integrate with the community. Especially since their great exodus to Biesel, where they faced famine and discrimination, vaurcae struggle in foreign communities outside their hives. Their lack of cultural knowledge, lack of understanding when it comes to the various languages that other races speak, also serves as a great disadvantage in their integration. Even so, a group of vaurcae is able to sustain itself, being cooperative and resourceful with one another in nature. Though the ones who lack most social integration are the bound workers. Given that, by comparison, a bound worker can not think for itself as an unbound does, they are more susceptible to discrimination and being sent to perform perturbing tasks, thus being taken advantage of. The bound are specialized workers, being able to complete a certain task by themselves with great progress. Though their disadvantage is that they can only work the task they are specialized in and other simple labours, whereas an Unbound, being able to think for themselves, can learn different trades. Aside from a human, the vaurcae are connected to a hivenet where they can communicate with one another or even share memories or feelings. They are bred and born by a Queen, Lower queen or a Ta and their lives begin within the hive and are raised within the VR. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Ghrix Zo'ra Please provide a short backstory for this character: Ka'Akaix'Ghrix Zo'ra, is an unbound worker born during the travels of Titan Prime under the lesser queen Athvur. During his 6 months of developing, Ka'Akaix'Ghrix Zo'ra spend it's time observing the bound and fulfilling their objectives as they maintained the ship on it's course, running optimally so all the vaurcae on board could reach a new place they'd call home. After six months, with his neural socket implanted, Ka'Akaix'Ghrix Zo'ra was ready to be raised within their Zo'ra's virtual reality realm. Once in VR, Ka'Akaix'Ghrix Zo'ra was raised and allowed to wonder and wander. Even though he was an unbound, he always forced himself to work with a greater purpose. He used his time and the knowledge he had from the bound and unbound alike, to imagine what life would be once they found a new home. Building structures that he would called "home", he was always full of joy to find a purpose for them and a reason to construct yet another. His time in VR was never wasted. There was no hunger, no need for sleep. There was only knowledge, more and more. He learned how to build, how to demolish, he learned his way around machinery, but was also inquisitive, taking two things apart to build another. He was becoming more and more eager to erect his own creations in the real world. In a new world they'd find, which turned out to be, Biesel After his time in VR had finished, Ka'Akaix'Ghrix Zo'ra spent several months on the Titan Prime until contact had been made with the humans. Being a vaurca born under Athvur, he shared the Lesser Queen's principles of integrating within the society, of finding their purpose by proving the humans of the vaurcae's worth and their ability to be truly creative. Though he was not ready for what was next, for he was one of the many evacuated to the slums of Biesel. There were no great lands for him to build upon, no great structures to see, no great purposes other than working menial jobs and surviving the famine of the millions that were there with him. The bound, the unbound. He struggled on and on. His whole time in VR filled him with false hope, until his own ability to think for himself turned him around from the despair he was facing and realized that he could not only build structures and machines out of anything, but he could also create a greater purpose when there was no other than just "survival". Armed with his knowledge and few of his bound and unbound kin, Ka'Akaix'Ghrix Zo'ra had taken it upon himself to help the others live, if not perfectly, a little better. The slums he found himself in were his great plains. The brothers and sisters were his hands, his own mind was his tool. They began to build housing, construct machinery to automatize some of the day to day tasks, provided hundreds with the opportunity to live better, cleaner, work safer. He interacted with the humans that were in close contact with them, negotiating their workforce in return for resources that they would help them greatly. He began to understand a new culture, to meet new people. To integrate. That is when his great spark had made him beam into the eyes of NanoTrasen. For he was inquisitive and determined to help his kin, resourceful and easy to integrate. He accepted a work proposition, not for personal gain, but to send everything he'd earn to those living within the slums. He embarked upon his new journey towards the NSS Aurora. What do you like about this character? Reading about the lore of the vaurcae, their condition made me think of the hardships they go through and what they have to endure. Ka'Akaix'Ghrix Zo'ra would be one of those that would take initiative to make the lives of those around him better. An ambitious unbound vaurca that, even if he was disappointed by what he had met once they made contact with the humanity on Biesel, he did not give up on what he had learned during his time in Virtual Reality. He only wanted to do better, greater and to further integrate within the new communities they had reached. This would give me a great opportunity to explore with the vaurca race and provide other players with roleplay that would be home to the vaurca lore. How would you rate your role-playing ability? My roleplay is something that I do not understand even myself. But I would rate it as being good. While I spent years roleplaying on several games, Aurora is still a great playground for me. The many races to roleplay, the vast lore and the players I interact with always help me learn something new about roleplaying. I feel it improving the more I interact with the people here and the more I spend time playing.

[Accepted]Borya's Moderator Application
Lolziam replied to BoryaTheSlayer's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Borya's been a great mentor, a great friend and will be. Borya is also a big lore nerd that helps me out with my gaps, a very good roleplayer and a person with very good standards. Borya is even now very sociable and sparks interesting conversations. He also contributes a lot and very well everytime. Not gonna lie. Borya is a great person I'd love to see as a mod. ❤? -
Just shows that people are not paying attention to the little box with clear messages on it. Like stated above, you only do not remember what led to your death. So basically the last 5 to 10 minutes

The one above was achieved in 2 hours, given we had to deal with carps, health hazards (forgetting to set up internals and instantly talking liver and lung damage), Cargo's greedy manners and overall trying to setup a good layout since we're bad interiour designers. Anyway, we had a backroom (The southern airlock) that contained all the materials we used, boxes, stored construction zone lamps and items, as well as a heater unit that was pumping heated gas into the sauna. We were also using two A/C heaters but maybe if this could get preconstructed by someone, more heaters could be added.

[Accepted] Peppermint - Command App #2

I'm totally supporting this application. The answers are good, the roleplay that Peppermint provides is enjoyable. I believe they would add further to our variety of Command Staff. +1 -
I liked it. Though something, something should be done about the doors. It was pretty funny though to see each other shout at whoever left the door open.
