...Well, this makes more sense now. That's a problem with those players. I don't think we should so massively compromise basic common sense for those sorts of people. People have ample opportunity to chucklefuck elsewhere. I would take the negligible increased risk presented by these people disrupting a round over the much larger annoyance caused by adopting a policy that makes no sense, especially when said policy has such extremely wide-reaching implications. Not adopting that policy means that you have less roleplay opportunities as well for players who actually do want to roleplay their character's reactions. If clones being violently insane is a problem, then you could simply make sedatives be standard issue when you tell the patient the news. Or perhaps keep a nearby doctor ready with a loaded syringe gun. If they normally engage in their killing sprees after being released, then honestly, the problem is mostly with these players who somehow believe that being cloned would instantly drive their characters into a murderous rampage. Yes, but they won't do something so obviously horrible, for so little gain, which would attract so much government ire. In fact, since they're assholes, they may just expect these people to get back to work after a therapy session. Which is why clones don't automatically have mandatory leave for the entire rest of the shift. Apollo used bay's things. CMD included, we split from Apollo and as we were Apollo players we used the things we were used to. It's a remnant I agree, but it wasn't us compromising for people. We just left it in because it worked at the time

Problem is, then we'd have millions oh heavy weight characters

Fireman121 IPC Application
mrimatool replied to Fireman121's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Yeah that's definitely a problem, for now go look at the bay wiki page. I need at least two paragraphs on the backstory. Also Borgs don't earn money. It might be better to have him selected by a scientist. Just a suggestion take it as you want. -
Fireman121 IPC Application

You'll need to expand on your backstory before I can accept this. As well as some of your answers. They're supposed to show you understand the lore -
Has to be said, Nanotrasen shouldn't be seen as a good company, EVER. and I've never known them to pretend to be one

Literally made a thread like this the other day and the only person who responded was Skull. Have people realised that I'm not the only person who feels the server is unendingly hostile?

Game.Of.Fucking.Thrones That is all.

Tool's Tajaran Whitelist App

Love white-collar crimes -
Hueh someone quoted me I'm FAMOUS.
-
We need them to be goofier! Someone take all of Jamini's ideas and make them into goofy variants with the same purpose!
-
What's funny is everyone is treating this like the departments are at war.. No they're all on the same side.. This isn't some pseudo nations round. These are a hell of a lot cooler than say pepperspray and after hearing Canon's idea I'm quite on that side, sec get shitty ones. HoS/R&D get regs, but maybe Syndies get a mark 3version. Me and Tish were talking earlier and maybe on the watered down ones you take away the extra punching damage and just add a lot more force so they get chucked about. Because that's extra cool.
-
I think the point is, Mirk feels it'd be unfair if he had the armor coat while he wasn't a HoS.
-
I love the idea, and I think maybe make them a research item? So HoS doesn't start with them, traitors can telecrystal them in and scientists can research them. I'm a little concerned about having super strong HoS' ooooh maybe make them an armoury item?

BYOND Key:MrImATool Character Names: Michael Thorne, Francois Stamos, Edward Dilgan, Liam Bernhaben, Elizabeth-Jane Sagan, Gordon Thorne, Victoria Castillion, Amazu Olasis, Kingsley, Kovner, Enetepes Hup, Silar Hup. How long have you been playing on Aurora:Since it's creation Species you are applying to play:Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Cream Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Indeedio Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wish to play as a Tajaran mostly due to the fact that I believe it the more interesting way to allow my character Kazeem to be brought to life, he was recently played as a Skrell but it just didn't suit. So I've decided that perhaps the poorer and more disenfranchised Tajaran could be a good alternative and perhaps Kazeem can be finally done some justice. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The Tajaran seem more hostile and xenophobic than most races, they keep to themselves and kind of seem to be the underdog on station, they're regarded as destitute but of course this isn't as true as it might seem. I think they're a very proud race who are treated poorly because of their heritage. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? The Tajaran are more populous than the other alien species and their lore seems to be more extensive, this allows me to craft a much better character and have him interact in some actual Tajaran roleplay without worrying that there'll be no one to RP with. The Tajaran are often seen as meek and of course poor, but the opposite seems to be the truth, one of the thing that interests me is the relationship between Unathi and Tajaran and how they interact with each other, I can't wait to give it a go. Character Name: Kazeem Ren'dir Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs: Jizeriu Ren'dir was Kazeem's father and a proud soldier, his main duties involved protecting noblemen and dealing with revolts, Jizeriu worked his way through the ranks until he was assigned to keep the peace during the hanging of a terrible rebel in D'as'ral. When the crowd responded in a violent way, Jizeriu was grabbed by the crowd who stabbed him repeatedly in the gut for his loyalty. Kazeem was three. His mother watched. So did He. Kazeem and his mother grieved his father for years, and Kazeem yearned to be like him, but unfortunately Kazeem was only good with one thing - Mathematics. Kazeem loved numbers and eventually his mother used her father's, a nobleman who was not fortunate enough to survive the rebellion, savings to send Kazeem to university to study maths. Kazeem studied for years but dropped out, not interested in science. During his university time Kazeem had started a small window cleaning business, but Kazeem wanted something more, he wanted a lot more than this. And so Kazeem made a deal with a thief about performing some money laundering. Kazeem laundered for three years, eventually even moving in to smuggling. Kazeem spent three years in prison after being able to pay back most of the money he stole. At the age of 26 Kazeem was asked by his mother if he'd ever go back to university, and so he did. Kazeem spent the next for years, not studying mathematics but instead studying finance. Kazeem was hired to be the accountant to a small operation on Mindorus and eventually was approached by Nanotrasen with an offer. What do you like about this character? his love for money and numbers is perhaps my favourite thing. He's not interested in women or power, no he loves numbers. Kazeem is highly cowardly and will gladly back down from a fight and apologise to the person who started it, just to avoid the conflict. Kazeem prefers preservation over pride. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/8 out of 10, quite good but sometimes I can drop out of character in certain times if I just really need a break. Notes: thanks for reading my app.

LOGIN ->KD PASSWORD -> ******** ACCESS -> Finance transferral. NET ACCESS GRANTED WELCOME -Attention- Good morning gents, I know I know you want something that'll make you rich but I can't always get you those one in a million contracts. I do have something worthwhile for you today, there's a certain NanoTrasen Worker known for his escapades against the syndicate and me specifically. He's been with the firm for years after his service in the Mindorus Navy, curse that git and his friends. The individual in question is Michael James Thorne, an ex-admiral. I know what you're thinking, I'm not crazy I swear. He's not the man he once was - his combat ability is lacklustre, his strategic mind is terribly underwhelming compared to others and he's mired by traditions and the way the company used to be ran. Here's the thing, he's mostly alive due to robotics so an Emp will kill him, you know what that means? No EMP's. He's missing his right arm so cuffing him could be a problem though I know he's not a fool and won't fight if it means he can live. Or you could just knock him out. I want him alive, and I'll be willing to pay 550,000 credits for his safe return to me where I can do the things I want. I will pay you a separate sum of 50,000 for his left arm, and a picture of when you took it off. Here's the thing though, I find out he died then the money is void. And I don't want a clone either, I want him in his current maimed state. And of course bonus points if you chop off his arm and bring it with you and him. Anyway thanks for reading - Kazeem.

Accepted.

Well here's an idea, if Cloning was removed, we could make it a highly experimental procedure that Central Command has to authorise. So it still exsists IC but isn't as readily available. OOOR we have a way of researching it through RnD maybe with incredible resource requirements so that it's not something scientists can just power to? I agree death is trivial and it's hard to grieve for someone IC when Jade Rathel shouts "shut up, loser she's being cloned" I agree this is getting off topic. But a decent point has been raised, maybe a new thread to discuss it before Delta has a breakdown?

It's on comment only currently, editing will just come up with a suggestion for me. Also a note like I said I'm not suggesting we use it. Nor did I say anywhere that they're un-approachable, they tend to be quite intelligent beings, they don't have a hivemind but just a feaudal society. Another note, everyone keeps saying they're like the Zerg, from what little I've seen of Starcraft I thought the Zerg were all little bugs? Another thing is the culture is supposed to be the think that differenciates them from other Bug tropes. They're not mindless buggies that swarm the galaxy, they've got a complex social structure and tend to have a bad reputation( With good reason) but I'm of the group of people with the opinion's that all aliens of one species shouldn't be exactly the same just because they're the same species.
-
This isn't a suggestion hence why it's in the general place. Me and Gamegod back in mid 2014 created an insectoid race that we wanted to replace Xeno's. We eventually lay the idea to rest due to Covert presenting his Vaucra. Ours wasn't finished so there was no point in contesting. But in general I just wanted to show what me and Gamegod came up with to see what everyone thinks. This is in no way a suggestion I'm just curious what everyone thinks of them. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-NjfKmhcQOBp0mRUw-RNuToQCqSs3VW6RDvLwNPwSTs/edit?usp=docslist_api

Callum99877's Head whitelist application.

I was pretty sure it was you, you joined as an engineer, died due to a punctured lung then joined as someone similar -
Well yeah, except I was serious about the compliments to Doomberg, it was generally serious feedback to an admin. But nothing more Boka.
-
And I was talking to Tish when I mentioned the feedback section, because this topic would go in there.
-
Baka is talking romantically, Delta is joking. And I barely know Doom, and I'm not on the staff. I was CM before and was just saying he'd make a good Head admin, I'm thoroughly confused what you're implying about me D:
