  1. If you even have to ask 'why would I want to vote yes' then you are a terrible human being. I have worked with Aquila on MANY shifts and that character is: A. Awesome. B. Adorable. C. SUPER Competent. D. Of sound mind (I.E. Not a big ol dummy.)
  2. Have played with Loow's character Teresa quite a few times and found her to be interesting, well developed, and overall a solid RP character. In OOC and LOOC Loow is also very helpful and an overall non-jerk. I approve.
  3. All of this, yes. My favorite is when nuke ops threaten to destroy departures before an emergency shuttle is called (which is entirely valid when escape pods are an option of escape) and everyone still goes to departures because 'they're bluffing' and/or the crew meta believes admins won't allow it (they will, i've seen, because it's a credible threat). That's idiotic. People don't seem to realize that the admins WILL ALLOW the antags to kill hostages/detonate bombs if they make a credible threat with realistic demands.
  4. Or space bears. Imagine the shuttle doors opening and space bears just come flooding through.
  5. I am a bit confused by all of this. I mean...I get the complaint about the pAI thing, it sounds like that sucks if you are trying to take your role as pAI seriously, but this ganging up on Lauren is interesting. I partly think that MAYBE it's that people don't seem to try and engage with her BECAUSE she's disruptive. I only ever play one character, an engineer, so in a short while I have run into Lauren Blade quite a few times. I have yet to have a single issue with her. In fact, one time she was sort-of bullying Phobos and I stood up for him, asking her to leave him alone...and she did. She even sent him a PDA message and apologized. She also happens to be a good engineer (when she isn't in the brig, that is). I am oocly a little wary of Techno, but only because I'm wary of anyone who are aggressive in there playstyle, and even I think his character Lauren isn't SO BAD. I just kind of wonder at her motivations is all. She just seems like a more physical version of Jade Rathel to be honest. Maybe she just needs some more character development?
  6. Where were you, the day Odin was kill?
  7. Ah, I see now. It seems there were a number of things I overlooked. I appreciate everyone's feedback on this and helping me understand that this just can't work. Thanks to everyone that took the time to respond!
  8. That is sort of a fair point, but like I tried to point out in my original post, it will eventually end and people will find out (during an antag round as ling), which would effect a few people already ICly. Also, like that round that inspired the idea, it did create some interesting RP between the antags and how they interacted with non-antags. However, I see your point that this does seem to be more about just my character than anything, but then again, so do a bunch of custom items that people have. It COULD contribute to roleplay, but I recognize that it also may fail to turn into anything other than what you said.
  9. This is exactly how I was going to play it out basically. I don't see how it would be metagaming anyway unless I came out as ling and everyone just...accepted it, then every ling round I went around and sabotaged and called out other lings. That's the only way I can really think of metagaming it.
  10. Am I the only one having trouble with the door hacking, or is this done by default?: I know the bolt wires are black. The door is bolted, so I pules the black wire. Nothing. I have to cut every single wire and mend them again. Sometimes this still doesn't work and I think have to cut and re-mend them. The door is powered otherwise. Also, is one wire supposed to turn off AI Control, Door Power, AND Bolt lights? Or is that a bug? I'm just remembering the old style never had these things, so that's why I'm not sure if it was made intentionally frustrating and difficult, or if these are bugs.
  11. I was wondering.. could I essentially have my character be a Ling (Lore wise for me) always? I had a round where my main (Jeanette Locklear) was a ling and some of the staff may or may not have seen her..heal. During the round, she was conversing with the other ling and said she was covertly infiltrating the station, attempting to move up the ranks and amass power and all that jazz... anyway, I was wondering if I could sort of canon that for her? Obviously she wouldn't be able to use ling powers on rounds she isn't an antag, but I think it could make for some really interesting RP. Example. The round I mentioned her as ling, the other ling claimed it was his wish to do the same..but violently. She challenged him and later, got him to attack her and set him up to be caught in the act and arrested by security (Knowing the would discover what he was and that he would eventually be killed.) So anytime she is an antag, she would be extra careful not to get caught and to preserve assets she deems valuable to her future. It would also be interesting canonizing anytime anyone may have suspicions about her, carrying it over to other rounds to see if anyone ever figures it out and see what would happen. Maybe the person who finds out would care about her too much to say anything? Maybe an epic showdown with an enemy or, even better, a loved one? Hell, maybe she just gets gunned down by a trigger happy officer and spaced. However things go, I think it would make for an interesting story. Thoughts?
  12. I play now and again too, with mods of course. I personally just like building, the exploring gets a little dull sometimes unless you're really lucky.

  14. I was one of the people watching this incident unfold, and I really kind of thought it was unprofessional for a Head of Security to ignore orders from centcom. I'd also like to point out that given the nature of the station on which we all serve, unusual incidents like this should really be handled with a little more cooperation with the Science and Medical departments. I ended up joining by the time both lings were put into xenobiology, and overall found the entire situation a bit unprofessional on the side of most of the heads of staff and also a bit metagamey from both the HoS and HoP. Having said that, I think this might be one of those situations that would be more appropriate as a situation report, than a player complaint, wouldn't it?
  15. +1 I had the pleasure of activating and RPing with PALADIN the other night as a Mechatronic Engineer. We had some excellent drama-like RP going even in the middle of the mutiny round, with it ending in a very interesting discussion between him, Android, and myself (Natalie Harlow). Although I haven't seen his other characters in action, mostly because I'm new to this server, he very clearly demonstrated his ability to play an interesting and engaging synthetic. His eagerness to make sure those around him are enjoying themselves is always a plus in my book. I would love to see what he can do with an IPC.
  16. Umm.. hi there! I was Breeze, one of the surviving Ops that round. I wasn't in the actual altercation, but some of the conversations my character was involved in before the situation might shed a little light as far as intent goes. So, during the little meeting we had, the Op Reyjakai (pretty sure he went by 'FuckUp' as a codename) pretty much from the start suggested using bombs. Since we weren't really agreeing on anything, and as a way to placate, I suggested we use some bombs as a distraction, ya know to lure sec one way while we went another. It was shot down and we went on our way. Everything was going smooth for the most part, but all throughout the mission Reyjakai would continueously say how he wanted to basically 'blow stuff up'. We all kept trying to come up with reasons not to do this, even settling on saying that there would be 'cleaner fees' and that our employers would be angry at un-needed deaths. Still, he took the bombs anyway. I only say this because it seems like it was kind of his intention all along to just blow someone or something up eventually, no matter what anyone else said. To be fair though, up until that point he played along and did things right, so it's possible it was just his adrenaline getting the better of him. I don't think he's a bad Rper or anything, just that maybe he let things get the better of him and took his need for destruction out where it wasn't wanted. Anyway, that's my two cents. Sorry if it's a waste of space.
