  2. Tajaran Union of Writers National Writing Competition 27.04.2466 The Tajaran Union of Writers has announced a writing competition that will take place during the Sil'nryy-aysaif. The event seeks to encourage new and young writers to express themselves and practice their writing skills, as well as draw attention to the promising new generation of writers. The event has many categories and awards to contend for and has categories for all ages, however, most are for those under the age of twenty-five. All works must be submitted and reviewed by the Union before being published through the normal process during greater summer to be eligible for entry into the competition. The Party seeks to award prizes to the top winners of every category, however, the focus of the competition will be on the youth and Hadiist Realism. It has been announced that all Tajara youth who participate in the event will be eligible for a Young Hadiist Writer medal if they demonstrate the values of Hadiism through their work. Minister of Education, Kalim Khazdar, has stated the following in response to the announcement: At the end of the competition, the Union will review and rank the work. After the review period is complete, all the works will be published in a special section on the ministry's website, and those ranked highly will have copies displayed in public libraries. Excerpts will be broadcast over radio and in newspapers. The prizes include a variety of medals, tokens, and funding grants to pursue a career in literature or teaching.
  3. Darmadhir Brew Releases Fifteen-Year Special Bottle 13.03.2466 One of the most renowned spirit makers in the nation, Hazyr Darmadhir, has released a special edition bottle celebrating the fifteen-year mark of the declaration of independence of the New Kingdom of Adhomai. Known for one of the Kingdom's most sought-after liquors, the small family-owned brewery skyrocketed to fame for its unique flavour and smooth taste. Hazyr Darmadhir, the brewer, stated that he had planned to release the bottle last year, but decided to delay the release until there was enough stock in the warehouse for most Tajara to sample the liquor. The bottle had unique glass engravings of the Azunja emblem, and was coloured with stained turqouise glass. The back of the bottle contained an excerpt of notes and letters found on the bodies of fallen soldiers, including the brewer's own son, who passed while fighting in the Second Revolution. The taste is described as a very smooth and sweet Nm'shaan liquor, with the added spin of a secret herbal mixture to enrich its taste. While the typical Darmadhir Brew bottle was quite expensive owing to its long, secretive brewing process, the bottle was sold in major cities' market stalls for remarkably cheap, and many stalls offered tasting sessions for those who could not afford it. Most stalls sold out within an hour, and some had to be shut down early due to unrest as more and more Tajara flocked to the markets. Some members of the nobility received personalised bottles, including Grand Admiral Mahtra Dynhaas and Field-Marshall Vyakelas Klyuchevsky. Queen Shumaila and Crown Heir Zhakmar were seen visiting the brewery in Miran'mir and receiving unique-looking bottles styled after them by Hazyr himself. They were given a tour of the brewery and were seen discussing at a table before leaving. The distribution has led the country into a frenzy trying to find a bottle, with bottle collectors and many in the nobility offering large sums of money for someone to procure one for them. There were reports of thefts, and many racks of the liquor were lost in a train robbery. Hazyr Darmadhir's comments renewed speculation regarding his health at his age, as he was already in his twilight years.
  4. If I recall correctly the bear AI waits and extraordinarily long time even after getting shot to start doing something. I get what Shimmer is saying here but I have to side with Fluffy, why would you go sight-seeing on a planet that is literally being overrun by hostile, crazed IPCs? It doesn't make sense logically and for the purpose of the arc I think it's fine in portraying the "things are fucked" on Konyang. There's also no limitation for you to go there but your character's beliefs. You can go to Point Verdant if you want to sight-see or not be in danger of being attacked by IPCs.
  5. The last character I saw was Deshan so I'm gonna toss one of the more upbeat dystopian vibes from a game I love as that's what strikes me with Gadpathur and Deshan. Goolies is 100% right with Papers Please though. I'm going to post mine: Avelka S'rrenikir
  6. People’s Army Tests New Tesla Weaponry Modifications 23.02.2466 The Tajara defending the principles of the Party and its citizens are at the forefront of Hadiism, and keeping their advantage over others is a crucial priority. Every Hadiist serviceman sacrifices their routine and strives to keep the People’s Republic secure against the Party’s enemies. The Ministry of Technology, in coordination with the Republican Army has released footage of new technology being field tested in a military firing range outside Fort Hadii to a Party meeting. The new technology consists of various types of weaponry retrofitted with integrated electronics, allowing personal and field weapons to perform with significantly higher metrics. Over the twenty-minute-long footage, the most notable example was a modified Adar’Mazy pistol. The first tester, a M’sai in military uniform, fired the weapon at a thick metal plate target thirty meters away and hit most of the bullets in the magazine - a close-up view of the target showed bullet marks scattered around and on the target. A second tester, a M’sai from the Tesla Brigade with military variants of Tesla prosthetics took the same pistol, replacing the spent magazine with a different one marked with the Tesla symbol. In the footage, it seemed that the electronics on the pistol came to life as soon as the soldier picked up the grip. In the firing test, the soldier fired all the bullets in the magazine rapidly. Following up with a close-up of the target, all bullets hit, but what was most notable was that the marks in the plate were much deeper from the first few bullets, decreasing in depth as the magazine was spent. A close-up of the pistol showed electronics along the rail of the slide and appeared to have a connection port on the grip. A scientist from the Ministry of Technology, Aleksey Khurnikin, appeared in the footage explaining the test. As the footage concluded, it showed snippets of other weapons to be potentially retrofitted, including pictures of a Tajara in a rejuvenation suit holding a large hand-held mortar cannon. The Minister of Technology, Zhuldyz Hadii, spoke in the meeting after the demonstration footage, stating: Zhuldyz and the Minister of Defense Irbaykhan Mirarkiizar asked for additional funding from the Party. The notion was agreed upon by other ministers, and President Njadrasanukii Hadii approved the funding officially. In addition, the ex-student will be awarded a medal for his innovation, and set as the project leader. With the current timetable, it is expected that these weapons may be fielded in a year.
  7. Please. Every single round I played since the start of this week has been spammed by sol common despite them not even being on the ship. It's not fun when you have to sift through and find actual lines when 80% of your chat log is a language you don't understand. If not that then at least add functionality to mute/not show messages spoken in selected languages.
