You, like many others, seem to forget that there is a Rule 1. Don't be a dick. It's there with the intent to stop people from being assholes in general and from ruining the game for others. Do you REALLY think that if what your saying is causing people to mute OOC, that you aren't breaking rule 1? Cause others to mute OOC = You are being a dick to those people, thus breaking rule 1, thus giving admins/mods a reason to shut you down. It's very simple. Even in a democracy you can't say whatever you want wherever you want. If you want to argue a point, take it to the forums where it won't clutter up OOC, where people can avoid it if they so choose, and where it has the added benefit of being much more organized and much easier to read. If someone muted OOC and I 'caused' them to do it I'm a dick and broke a rule? Most people just mute OOC because they don't want to see the conversation while playing or just don't like having OOC open. Turning off your OOC doesn't make the people enagaged in the discussion ducks. Making that assumption is just plain stupid. If I am in a public place and don't like when someone is talking loud or singing it something and I put in ear buds to drown out the noise, does it make them a dick? No. I just don't want to hear it and have the choice to listen or block it out. Comparing it to democracy isn't true. You can say whatever you want whenever you want. The freedom of speech comes with the equally important right to be offended.

/!\ READ - STATE OF TAJARAN /!\
spacevoidagent replied to Susan's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Most Tajarans I have encountered are just selfish, bisexual, rude, incredible hypocritical assholes. The few reasonable and lore abiding Tajarans are usually enjoyable. Thus, I suggested restricting the Tajarans to menial work. Like mining, cleaning and if they are somewhat smart a electrician or maint engineer. -

Here's an idea: Put a ban on Tajaran Heads. Restrict Tajarans to Civilian and Engineering Jobs, and basic medical jobs like nurse or EMT -

John is a really good roleplayer, and I especially enjoy his Diona, Echoes. I have worked with him in Medical multiple times as my own Diona, Storm, and he is very good at what he does, and how he does it. He makes a interesting character, and has good medical knowledge. I support him getting a Head Whitelist, and he would make a great CMO.

spacevoidagent's Vaurca application

BYOND Key: spacevoidagent Character Names: Brayden Striker, Edward Greenwood, David Wolfe, STRYKER (AI), The Storm of Life, The Force that Pulls Stars (Both Diona) Species you are applying to play: Vaurca! What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): I suppose a olive green color, or a dark tan-brown color. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, it is very interesting. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Firstly I wish to play this race as it is new! It looks incredibly interesting and has awesome buffs/disadvantages. I think the idea of playing a non-Alium hive creature could allow for interesting interaction with both other Vaurca and the other species. A Bound Vaurca looks up to the Unbound, as almost Gods. I suppose this is because they envy their freedoms or similar. I think the different classes (Type A, B, etc..) is VERY interesting and closely resembles that of ants. I'd like to be one of the first to play this species. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Almost everything about this species is different from humans. The only similarity they have is speaking the same language. The Vaurca are able to traverse in space, and are immune to radiation and cold. They have strong brute damage and even a special bite. They can see in the dark, better then Tajara, in fact. Though, this comes at a price, extremely vulnerable to fire, slow, EMP's can injure them, and flashes will eventually blind them. And if you play a drone character, you are basically a slave for anyone. The Drone's have no self-judgement and just take orders from others. Vaurca often have no knowledge other then in their department. They can't be heads, and dislike light. I think this is very cool, and I could turn off lights and etc. Character Name:Za'Akaix'Zikassk Zo'ra Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Za'Akaix'Zikassk Zo'ra, (I will just type Za for the rest of the Story), a Type BA Vaurca, still young and strong. He was a warrior for the Hive, guarding the Queen and at times the Nursing chambers, securing the safety of the future. He is strong and tall, for human standards, at 8 feet tall. His exoskeleton is normal of a Type BA, their exoskeleton reveals two inches thicker, and supported with carbon nano-tubes that provide a stronger-than steel natural armor, but allows type BA to move around freely and at will. His eyes are glassy and have protection on them. He hatched and grew in 2448, and was unbounded from the hive at around March, 2453. He is a good warrior, fearless, feels no pain, and smart. As Za grew older and was unbound from the Hive he learned more about Humanity and the other species he shares space with. He found himself drawn to the police roles. He much prefers working with the machines and other species as they are generally not racist or rude to him, and don't call him hurtful things like 'Ant' or 'Termite'. Za contained himself well while studying abroad in Biesel, and graduated quickly with a degree in Law Enforcement. He worked for a few months as a Federal Biesel Officer, and gained valuable experience in interacting with humans. Although he was doing well on New Mendell, Biesel, he was hivesick, and missed space and the vastness it entailed. He searched for NanoTrasen, the ones who transported him to Biesel, offering a new chance. He found Ambassador Va'zuilts Zo'ra, a Type CB 'Prince' ambassador for the Zo'ra Hive, currently living in an embassy in Mendell City, Biesel. He spoke to him about returning to the hive, but was not allowed. Va'zuilts Zo'ra recommended working on a space station if he really wanted to return to space. Za accepted this offer and applied. Za hopes that Va'zuilts Zo'ra will keep in contact, and perhaps he can prove himself worthy of becoming a member of the Hive once again. What do you like about this character? I like that I used the Type BA Vaurca to create a realistic character that uses his natural born skills in his life on Biesel. He becomes interested in something similar to what he did at the Hive, and pursed it. Grabbing a four year degree in Law Enforcement. After becoming hivesick, he attempted to return, but the only chance off of Biesel was on the NSS Aurora. If this is accepted, he will arrive on the NSS Aurora eager to work as a Security Officer. How would you rate your role-playing ability? A good 8 or 9. I am very proud of my Diona characters. Notes: I'm not sure if the Vaurca are ready to be used, but im hoping they are since the Vaurca are on the wiki! The lore is incredible and I read the whole thing. Very cool, and much more detailed then any other species. Bravo to the Lore team. -

I think it was kinda rude to just kill him. He spent a lot of time cloning people so they could stay in the round and you just kill him. He never directly killed anyone, so I don't think you should have used lethal force. You had your chance to sign him but missed. I think you should have let him go in space and get ready for a second encounter. Not everything has to be run and gun. You could have setup checkpoints, guards, patrols, and block off areas with bariers. I wish security would be more creative in taking down the antags that make an effort. -
I support the idea of using the CM alium code. It would be a lot more realistic and immersive that way. The aliens would be what they really are, powerful and scary, and the crew wouldn't even dare to step foot near the nest, for they know it would lead to certain death. When playing Xeno rounds I try to RP as much as I CAN. I put more effort into Xeno rounds then I do any other. It seems to me the staff doesn't want this because they will have to pay attention more and make sure people aren't powergaming or metagaming. Sounds like the staff needs some motivation to do the position they signed up for. If you don't want it because it will be harder to moderate, you shouldn't have become a moderator. So once again, I fully support taking the open CM code to use for the exclusive Xeno rounds.

spacevoidagents Unban Request [II]

Hmm? -
Why are you leaving? All the good people are leaving.

Why not just remove the whole thing. The LWAP is completely round ending and takes no effort to use, at all.

spacevoidagents Unban Request [II]
spacevoidagent replied to spacevoidagent's topic in Unban Requests Archive
I hardly mentioned the SS other then that they are making a movie based on them. I wasn't the one that mentioned Gas Chambers, and I said myself, I didn't want to argue about whether the SS are evil or not. I didn't say it AFTER I said the Waffen SS aren't evil, I said it BEFORE. I think that it does solve a large part of the problem, because I thought that my intentions were clear about not wanting to argue and all I wanted to do was say they are making a movie about the Waffen SS. I also think that seven days is an excessive amount considering the situation, and I believe three days would have been a more justifiable punishment. -
spacevoidagents Unban Request [II]

Oops, I put 10800 minutes to days instead of 10080 minutes. Anyway, firstly, I dont think its right to ban me for potentially starting a flamewar, because you don't ban someone for potentially breaking a rule. Secondly, I don't think simply mentioning a movie about the Waffen SS is offensive. I did heed the warning, and said directly afterwords, I don't want to argue about whether the Waffen SS are evil or not. -
BYOND Key: spacevoidagent Total Ban Length: 7.5 Days Banning staff member's Key: Tenenza Reason of Ban: Reason for Appeal: I don't think I should be banned for seven days, because all I did was mention that a movie about the Waffen SS is being made. It was related to the conversation, as we were talking about WWII and the German Invasion of Soviet Russia. I even said I didn't want to argue about whether the Waffen SS was evil or not, and then OOC was promptly muted. I think being banned for several days for 'Potentially starting a flame war' is unfair and that the rules were being picked too tightly.

I think it is a good idea to change some of the things regarding to Botany. As of now, you grow a ample amount of food, and then you are practically done. Things like bees add some variety, and needs more attention. Clothing, Equipment, and Bee's going through airtight windows needs to be fixed, lol. When the Developer team has potentially enough time to fix this, I think it can be done easily and would add some incentive to playing Botany. +1 Support from me.

NoahGoldFox 's unathi application
spacevoidagent replied to NoahGoldFox's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
What are some of your character names? I haven't really seen you outside of OOC. Also, in OOC you ask a lot of questions, which isn't a bad thing, but you are still new and learning the game. I think it would be better for all of us if you learned the game a bit more (maybe another week or two) before you apply again. -
Staff Complaint: IncognitoJesus
spacevoidagent replied to spacevoidagent's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
You continued (Along with a few others) so OOC was muted and you were again asked You again continued on the same subject and were told again and again you said the exact same thing. This is no longer about the subject of the SS here, or ISIS or whatever topic it might be. This is not doing what the staff tell you. You were asked multiple times to stop talking about a subject and you continued, so you got a warning for it, the lightest thing we have for rule breaking. I see nothing wrong with the way this was handled, you were asked to stop, that means to stop the subject regardless of if someone else asks about it. If you really must tell them use Skype or Byond Pager. But if three staff members tell say to stop talking about something, that subject must stop being talked about. Now unless you have something to say about the way this was handled I'll be closing the thread. Any more links to information on the SS or trying to tell me about them will result in a warning on the forums, this is not the place for it. I said it after I was told to stop, because some said "English?" so I thought it would be okay to translate it. Also, the warning isn't entity true. The "Reported making Hitler jokes ICly" still hasn't been proven and I don't want that on my record.
