KingOfThePing
BYOND key: KingOfThePingCharacter names: Sei Armas, Natalie Pershing, Julienne TurnerHow long have you been playing on Aurora?: I first boarded the Aurora in Summer/Fall 2016 if I recall it all correctly. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Driving the round's and character's stories alike. As well as exemplary leading the department as I would like to get led by others. Why did you come to Aurora?: LRP and HRP is nothing for me. I came for the HRP and stayed for the people.Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Of course.Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I recieved two minor warnings in my time here. One for being a bad traitor and sabotaging the Supermatter Engine without staff approval near the end of one round and the other one was recieved for misinterpreting a law as the AI and hurting the crew, even if I shouldn't have. Other than that I haven't recieved any administrative actions. Of course I also have some notes to my ckey but they are all very harmless. If interested I can post them, too. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Obviously, the purpose of roleplaying is to be able to be someone who is not you. You have the ability to create a completely different person, with different motives, different principles and a life that went differently than your own. But roleplay also involves others. The way you play your character can affect or influence others, in character and maybe even out of it. You can live another life, meet people you might not meet in the real world and do things you can't (or shouldn't). You can create a whole new universe with the characters you play. You can create stories or situations that are remembered. Maybe you can even create real feels, sometimes. Roleplay shouldn't be solely about yourself or your character but rather the people around you. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The Head of a Department is supposed to guide, supervise and teach (new) players the ways of the department they play. Guidance by coordination: A department without a head often is slower to respond - slower to react - maybe even limited in their abilities. Supervision by presence: Supervising your department, so the members of said department follow regulations and you keep an overview of your department's actions at all times. Teaching new players: No matter if it's a player new to Aurora, the department or the game itself, a Head of Staff should try to be available for players willing to learn new game mechanics, positions and what is expected of them, when playing in said department. The game can be confusing when being new, a HRP setting even more so. New players should be taken into care, especially as a Head of Staff, if everyone else refuses to do so. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: It's not a simple question. One should not forget, that as a whitelisted Command player you are basically considered an exemplary player, especially by players new to the server or the game. You have to handle the balancing act to make rounds interesting, but still deliver good, believable RP. One of the greatest problems you can hear at any give time is, that often interesting situations get shut down by command players. It is important to try to look for ways to make good, interesting and maybe special situations possible, to create possibilities for people to roleplay and try out their ideas, instead of trying to avoid or deny it. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Originating from the Republic of Elyra and Tau Ceti being a melting point for many (xeno) cultures Dana was skeptical when taking the opportunity to work for NanoTrasen. But she thinks that NanoTrasen is indeed more powerful than The Liberal Reform Party. She knows that the fight over the elyran Phoron deposits is a slowly losing one. She believes, that if she cannot beat NT, then she should join them. Even though she considers herself temperate, when it comes to political questions the Lii'dra attacks in Tau Ceti this year only gave her the proof she needed to not trust the Vaurca. Dana does not outright dislike or hate xenos in general, like many elyrans tend to do, but she is always vigilant, when being around them. More so if it's a Vaurca. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Chief Medical Officer Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Since my currently played medical character is too young, greatly underqualified and not supposed to be a CMO I created a new character: Dana Zirin as a Chief Medical Officer. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Rating yourself is presumptuous, but I should do so nonetheless this time: 7/10. I think I play believable characters with ideals and flaws alike but of course, no one is perfect. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Of course. Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Of course.Extra notes: n/a Link to comment
