AmoryBlaine Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Currently there's typically one emergency locker per shift with two of the new gasmasks. And this is the only place you can get them. From an RNG rolled emergency locker. My suggestion is that they spawn more often, and that they replace the versions inside fire closets, and virology lockers. It would also make sense for Security, Mining and Engineering staff to spawn with these new masks rather than the basic breathmask, just to add a bit of variety to the emergency kits.
ben10083 Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Gasmasks are available in the armory, and they are rarer since a gas mask can provide a great tactical advantage depending on what gear you are facing against. If we make them plentiful you might as well throw away any pepper spray grenades and other gas grenades you have. @AmoryBlaine You explained how to do your suggestion, but I would like to know why we should make gasmasks spawn everywhere.

I already explained why. There's often two of the new gasmasks per shift. Why would you not want more of them around? What is there gained by limiting them to me because I go out of my way to locate them every round to use and show them off?
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Too common gas masks gives wider crew better defense against gas.

Yes, and how common are scrubber backfires compared to how often people are being teargassed? If someone is wearing a mask 24/7, it's powergaming. If someone is not an antag and being teargassed maybe someone needs to ahelp the Sec officer teargassing them, or the non-antag for self-antagging. But even so, more gasmasks evens the playing field for most all-inclusive antag rounds. No more Rev rounds ending the moment Sec decides to throw one teargas grenade into the crowd.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 You can find more gas masks in maintence, engineering, and firefighting lockers.
KingOfThePing Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 I've seen the new gasmasks are more common now. A lot of lockers on the surface have them, sometimes even two.
Carver Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Replace the ones in the armoury and fire closets with the new sprite masks. Boom, more common to see them but the same amount of gas masks, and you still have the old ones sitting in maintenance.
