The round had another continue, people were sort of messing around at that point and I just thought to do it since up until now, it just seemed like a harmless cool trick I’ve seen others do with staff watching and not really caring. Obviously, that’s no excuse to break the rules even if its something often overlooked but the conclusion to all this didn’t leave me with a good feeling. Prate asked in LOOC who took the penguin out, I said it was me, then I was informed in LOOC that I was getting banned for it. Afterwards, Prate posted a warning not to abuse the bug on the discord shortly after I was banned. There was no real warning for me, didn’t receive a ticket. It was just a straight ban. Would’ve been happy to go the 24 hours, though I’ve been told a ban of any kind is an automatic head whitelist strip. So seeing as there was no warning, it felt kind of far and I would like to keep my whitelist, I was suggested to make a complaint. I asked the group of you that were dicking about with the bug, and you fussed up to have been the one to do it, so you got a mild hammer strike. Maybe I could have shot you a PM, but the verdict would be the same. As it says in the rules, in bold: Abuse of bugs, regardless of intent, is a punishable offence. And this here, is a very obvious bug. Spreading awareness has to start somewhere, and Im sorry it had to be you. That being said, I hope your whitelist can stay as Ive made a very public example out of you with this complaint, but it is not up to me.

You will need to reapply for command white-list, at your earliest convenience. I do apologize for this, but it is a policy that we cannot make any exceptions for. I get that, but I strongly feel a warning would have sufficed and been fair seeing as I am not one with a history of abusing bugs. it did not feel egregious enough to mandate the strike either to me, considering I was not really using this to gain an advantage or ruin the experiences of other players. Maybe that just doesn't matter, but I'd think it would count for something, especially when the outcome becomes more than just a ban for a small amount of time. It could be handled better. Alberyk Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Right, taking in consideration the notes and the situation, a ban is kinda going overboard here. Taking in consideration that the penguins were just being used to make meat, not to grief or robust someone. But, you should not really abuse bugs at all. Prate should have used pms instead of looc as well. So, I will remove the ban and apply a warning. But, if you are caught abusing bugs again, you should be banned.
