greenjoe Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 (edited) Just like the title says, make it so when you go to amputate a limb it'll give a box with yes or no asking if you want to do this. I accidentally missed a step in making an incision on the head to open the skull, and when I went to bone saw, it just started cutting the neck, so I had to move to stop it, causing rib damage, which, while better then accidentally decapitating the patient, is still not good. The second suggestion would be to have a way to stop a surgery step you started without moving and harming the patient. btw I know the rules say one suggestion per topic but these are two rather closely related suggestions, both covering surgery. Faye <3 Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 please lmao, it's so annoying to be "punished" for accidentally clicking the wrong box by harming your patient when you cancel it
CatsinHD Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Although probably not intended, if you put your tool down (like placing it back in the tray) it will cancel the step without harming the patient. This borders a fine line, of course, and I'd rather have a mechanical way of stopping a surgical step without having to resort to something like mentioned above.

Carver Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Some form of confirmation would be good, it pains me to see someone inexperienced saw off a limb.
Tomixcomics Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 A part of me agrees, but another part of me feels like ever since all these annoying issues have become a part of surgery, doing surgery requires more knowledge and attention to what you're doing, which makes it complicated and difficult like... well... surgery! Injuring someone while cancelling an action is not unlike botching a complicated surgery a bit. And I think it adds a minimal level of skill and attention to detail to the job that, frankly, feels appropriate for what the job is supposed to be. And let's be clear, I say this as a surgeon/CMO main who has had his own fair share of fucking up.

It's very easy to accidentally start an amputation when you were wanting to cut into the skull, though. Especially if someone else has injected something that closes up the wounds.
Carver Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 It's also never a fun experience for the player under the knife to get decapitated because their surgeon was a new player who wasn't entirely aware, meaning they need to wait until next round to play.
