Lmwevil Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 title so the thing is I think that roboticists are rad but their transhumanist aspect can't really be explored much - if they could print some of the loadout augs, maybe some fluff augs from R&D and whatever it'd add a lot. I'd adore having my characters ICLY get an integrated timepiece because they're sick of having a watch etc etc. I dunno I'm writing this more on impulse right now but I think that Robotics would benefit massively in terms of the theme and feel behind them with transhumanist things they can do besides asking people if they want their lungs torn out or want to amputate a limb y'know? Maybe robotics get a way to turn organs into assisted organs? That could be cool as a fluffy surgery too
Connorjg1 Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Please yes. It would be incredibly cool for Robotics to have the ability to print assisted organs/augments to allow for more then just 'Honey time for your limb/internal organ replacement' pretty much only done during emergencies. Hard +1
Carver Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 While I dig more transhumanist stuff, I question anyone going to their work to get a new augment or limb installed. Going to agree anyways since it'll make more sense by the time NBT rolls around (even then your character would probably be better off visiting a nearby planet to see a better-supplied, proper aug-doc who actually knows how to perform surgery on people). I will say though, I'm concerned about pushing roboticists more toward being surgeons unless the stupidity that is the 'surgery chart' were removed from existence.

This is a workplace that you can sleep and live at with all your needs attended with a personal hired chef and anything else you'd reasonably need though, with reasonable cryochambers too - even a bar and a pool
Desven Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 The problem is persistence, not to mention those could fall under cosmetic surgeries NT wouldn't really cover you doing while in shift. I don't think it fits HRP, honestly.

They're in the loadout and being able to produce them instead of just a full prosthetic would be nifty.
