Haydizzle's Deputy Loremaster Application

Recommended Posts

Lately I’ve noticed Haydizzle popping into the Skrell team more to help out and offer some insight. I think this is the right attitude when it comes to what this position would entail! While I’ve +1’d other apps for this position, I would also like to +1 Haydizzle’s.

I can not speak of Haydizzle's activity as I can not observe it - and, largely, the criticisms brought up here are lost on me because of me being very much out of touch with the server. However, on an individual level and of the brief period of time where I and Haydizzle were together on the team, it was very easy to work with him due to his outspokenness and just willingness to let others in on what he is doing, and being very open about his work related to the lore. Perhaps this may be seen as shilling and generally a post that does not critically engage with the applicant, but I do believe it important for me to remark on what I find is very important in both deputy loremaster and the loremaster themselves:

The capability for management. And I do think that is something Haydizzle has. Very often will both of the superiors on the lore team will need to act as managers, mediate issues between members of the team, and such - and I trust Haydizzle to do that in a manner that benefits everyone involved. I believe it to be one of the biggest problems of the lore team that things sometimes descend into hostility or mutual personal dislike, and those things very often really mess up the flow - no matter how much you may try to sidestep these things.

Editorial help is something very valuable to the team, and that sort of 'outsider' perspective on the writing that other members of the team do is extremely valuable; it's the kind of role that I tried to fill myself.

I won't provide any input on the lore you wish to write, nor the content of the directions you want to take the team in; because I, frankly, value you for your ability to help others out and bring out their potential.

But, just for the sake of courtesy and curiousity, I do want to ask a question: how do you perceive the current structure of the team? Do you find it effective, and would you want to change it? Do you think the way team works should be changed? If so, how?
