On Razortail :

The Razortail faction currently in lore is under the Aut'akh, so if need be, this can be re-written a bit to fit under the Aut'akh and expand upon the existing Razortail faction.

Also would help with the rather lacking history section - rather than having it being built from the ground-up, it can use the existing Aut'akh history as a springboard.

I'm rather fond of building upon existing lore, gives it more depth and closes up loose ends for factions to exist. It's up to Rusting to make the call though.

On Gorlex :

Honestly if you google Gorlex right now the only hits are a bunch of unrelated pages...

and the /tg/ wiki page and THIS THREAD. If anything else, I'm fine with using Gorlex - it sounds great, and /tg/ isn't doing much with it anyway.

Even better if we one-up them, do it better and claim it for ourselves. Would rather do this than the name sounding like ass because someone else got to it first.

Overall,

I think this is a pretty good idea. Hopefully down the line we can get antagonist groups of the other species as well, rather than have Unathi fall to Vox "Antag Species" syndrome.

This is a really good idea, actually. I might get on this, but I make no promises because history sections aren't my strong suit--that and I don't want to risk coming up with something otherworldly or inane when it comes to Aut'akh. It's a very valued Unathite faith to me.

You could just write them as a radical sect of the Aut'akh ala Luddic Church/Luddic Path from Starsector.

With antagonist factions comes a reasonable amount of lampshading for the sake of gameplay.

I would personally not tie this to the Aut'akh, but that is my personal bias. However, this is certainly an interesting and relevant addition to our lore.

I do not think the anti-hierarchy and egalitarian Aut'akh (any sect) would be interested in making an arms corporation--at least, not with the current way the Marauders are written. Also, I don't think any Aut'akh would have the social or financial capital to embark on this sort of enterprise, anyways. They are heavily discriminated against in the Hegemony and they actively disrupt Hephaestus activities. Doesn't vibe for me. It being a random private corporation is fine. I am honestly in favor of the Gorlex Marauders, I don't think anyone cares about the TG connection. If it is such a big deal you can just change the name slightly, like Korlex Marauders or Sy'kex Marauders.

So, after some conference with Villa and word from Triogenix, this doesn't work out as an antagonist faction (through no fault of my own; word is that antagonist factions often don't exist outside of what they're written in) but could very well be a Unathi-centric pirate faction. I'm currently writing a primer for use on the Unathi Piracy part of the wiki, and you'll see that shortly.

Believe me, I feel you. I hope the lore team reconsiders, but a pirate faction is better than nothing at all.

Yo. The loremasters and the Unathi lore team have decided to accept this app with some changes to flavour; in essence, Gorlex will become something of a guild of ne'er-do-wells who are machinists, manufacturers, engineers, and scientists (and yes, they make their own voidsuits). They are likely going to be renamed, since Gorlex is not a very Unathi name and Razortail is already a thing.
