Reason for complaint: Before you read this, this is all you need to know:

This round was a weird one, there were no security officer's at the time of this incident, and it was complete RP.

There were multiple bombing. The suspect was captured so there was no treat of the bomb's going on.

There were still multiple bomb's on the station, multiple crewmember's were disarming them and i was the only one who got a warning for this.

So, it start's out with me building a Durand (With RD permisson) and we find a Armed Fueltank in matience near Robotict's. Tyrone being brave, going's to mesc. Research getting a bomb suit brining the fueltank with him. Having full faith in himself he start's to "Mess with the wire's" Having no fucking idea what he was doing, i "Simulated" him cutting the Red wire, blowing it up (I heated the fueltank to make it explode).So that end's that...Then i get a warning that goe's like this.

Set off a fuel tank bomb in Misc. Research, causing the area to breach. ICly they wanted to impress another character so they attempted to defuse it. The RPed that due to their character's lack of knowledge they set if off. They have been talked to and hopefully will have their characters a 'tad' smarter in the furture.

 

After getting this, i asked what rule i even broke, i explained to him that it was all RP...Then he say's this... You character should be sane, mate. Sane chaps don't mess with bombs. (May i remind you that people defuse bomb's for a living, but that doe's not matter)

After that...He say's the fucking unthinkable. More over, don't you think being black, having an afro, and being named Tyrone a bit much? To be honest i really fucking surprised when he said that. I based this character on a friend and he just say's that out of the blue. I do not think any staff should ever that, racial sterotyping

Ran into the same kind of trouble before, so I feel your pain.

I don't think having a character who speaks in African American Vernacular English (AAVE - a very real and common dialect in America) is racist, but some people feel like it is. Maybe because it makes black people look "uneducated and uncultured", instead of, you know, actually being part of their culture. /s.

My initial assessment is this is entirely ok. Roleplaying "incompetence" can be pretty tricky to pull off but i think, but i dont see a problem with what you just posted. When i see hunne ill get him to post here and then we can go from there.

Wait is this Tyrone LeNoire? The guys name is literally the most stereotypical black name he could think of, followed by his surname which is literally 'Black'. Lets not pretend, here, this is the same guy who played botanist and did nothing but grow ambrosia because HURR HURR WEED DEALER. Please don't try to use these weak excuses, it's not fooling anyone. I know the memesquad has to stick together, but come on.

And that's secondary to the point that he's very obviously chucklefucking on purpose in the guise of incompetence. No fear RP 'because he's confident', he's just willing to go cut random wires on a bomb because why not. Then OOCly intentionally fails. How is this any different then someone deciding to 'RP' a welder bombing in any other situation? So can I play an incompetent doctor and chop someone's head off instead of performing their surgery? Would that be okay? Intentionally release the singularity because my engineer character is incompetent?

There's a difference between being in a bind and doing something you really can't do, and failing at it, and releasing the singularity because you're incompetent. And, I can see the sanity argument, and I can also see "But ze arrrpeees!" argument. We'll see what Hunnewle saw in this.

I do not play Tyrone Lenoir. Neither does Coolbc. The assumption that Tyrone (Lenoir) is a racist character is sorta puzzling given that he's the whitest black character I know and I've never seen him grow weed. Lastly, you probably want to drop the "meme squad" thing because it makes you look like a conspiracy theorist.

I also don't see how having a character named "Tyrone" is racist considering there's roughly 100 000 people named Tyrone in America. The name is mostly carried by black males, yes. So it would be logical to see a black male character using it. I've seen two Tyrones on station (Halo's and this one) so it's not like the name (or archetype) has achieved any sort of memetic status, and I feel like people might honestly getting upset over a kneejerk reaction here.

Also, roleplaying incompetence does not necessarily equate chucklefucking. Especially when the actions are intended to have canon to semi-canon repercussions for the character (semi-canon being retconning character death into an injury, for example.)

Alright! I will admit, at the time, I was a bit hot-headed. I was the only Staff on at the time.

--What happend was this: Tyrone Syion played by Coolbc2000 had set off a fuel tank in Misc. Research's secure area. The resulting blast breached the reinforced walls venting the secure area. I asked him why he did that, exactly, and he explained his character was attempting to impress Lilith, the RD, by disarming a Fuel tank rigged to remotely detonate. My comment regarding 'Sane people do not disarm bombs' is not completely correct, I meant untrained persons who didn't know what they were doing.

--I did not find their excuses proper, for knowingly igniting a fuel tank, and warned them of this. During the discussion I stated "Don't you think that's a bit much? Black skin, Afro, named Tyrone?" as that, to me, was a known stereotype. I did not intend to be racist in anyway, only to promote more original characters. They told me that their character is actually based off of one of their friends.

--I apologize if I did wrong, if I have I will correct my behavior. But for the time being I feel my statements are sound.

As no one else was harmed from your accident all's fine. I do apologize, again, if I came off as racist earlier. I was just meaning you could do better as a character.
