Fix the "Temperature Gun" (Bring back Freeze Ray)

So, Jenn joined in as a xenobiologist, and I handed her a "Temperature Gun" after setting the temperature to minimum and told her to see if it will work on slimes. The result? Big time slime outbreak, and a clutch evacuation to the cryo tubes in medical.

Simply put, the temperature gun does not function anymore for popping slimes whatsoever.

The temperature gun is garbage unless you want to fry Tajarans. The freeze ray would be amazing for xenobiology, especially with the heightened aggression factor of the slimes which has caused a sharp spike in xenobiologist deaths.

The freeze ray needs to be a xenobiologist's best friend IMO. A easily reloadable gun for slime disposal. Perhaps we could add one in, and let it be "reloaded" by adding a specific chem into it?

Might give inexperienced Xenobiologists a reason to make those frost oil producing blue slimes.

Also I believe the reason the temp. gun doesn't work anymore might be a change in that slimes are meant to be weak to /water/, not cold. They have some little text mentioning how they sizzle when you spray them with water.

That's exactly my thinking. Gives another purpose to those slimes AND makes sure they can reload without having to rely on chargers.

Ah! That's why. I always thought that the water in the tanks and extinguishers was just... Cold, since it used to be all temperature based.

Well, assuming for some reason that a plan is in the works to go back to a temperature format, I would love to be able freeze Ray slimes again, and being able to recharge them with frost oils would be cool, albeit a different suggestion.

I actually, personally, enjoyed the slimes being weak to temperature as well. It gave the temperature gun an actual purpose. And gave another strategy to fighting slimes (Space them).

I thought spaced slimes still survived for some reason on the old code, I remember being surprised about it. But hey, if we go back to temperature I would love it. :D

In the old code they survived. There was an outbreak of slimes in Xenobiology and some how they all managed to migrate to the Captain's Office and fuck shit up. Also, I agree with the fixing of the temperature thing.

I distinctly remember shouting to my fellow Skrell that "THE FREEZE GUN, IT DOES NOTHING!" Before being unceremoniously glomped half to death. If we could bring this back, I'd love it, as it also removes Morkai's favourite method of slime control: Gassing them with a frost oil 'nade.
