Dreviore
BYOND key: Dreviore Character names: Dr. Daniel Seraph, Aurelia How long have you been playing on Aurora?: A little over a month Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I notice during my times playing that a lot of head positions are left unfufilled. So I decided I would attempt to change that. And I feel it would be a learning experience for me. Why did you come to Aurora?: Well Baystation died. And I had a hard time getting involved in Polaris, so I was on reddit one day and someone recommended Aurora to me. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Role play is about extending the reach of your mind by playing people, and roles that are completely different then your everyday boring/exciting life. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: OOC your job is to help ensure new faces know the basics of their departments, and to ensure your department runs as smoothly as possible. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Set an example to newer players of how Role play can be, and to ensure people under your care learn from their mistakes! Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Nicholas Crixus Character age: 48 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Nicholas Crixus was born in Mendell City, July 27th 2409, to a fairly typical family. His father Jacob Crixus was employed as a freelance writer for a small news station while his mother Janet Crixus worked for NanoTrasen as a human resources repersentative. For Nicholas life was fairly care free for him as his parents provided him with plenty of opportunities for him, Nicholas was absolutely amazed by books. Reading about history, and reading about the various races known to humanity. Nicholas attended school, and managed to get by with ease, and at the young age of sixteen with help of his fathers connections was granted a part time job as an intern for the law firm Hessington Wright, this job is what originally got Nicholas' foot in the door for practicing law, because two years after he got his job, the firm offered to pay for his entry into school. At this time Nicholas never spent much time at home, and often found himself spending long days at the firm mostly tending to one of the women that worked there alongside him name Chelanna, and inbetween school would spend most of his downtime with her. At the age of twenty-three Nicholas had obtained a Bachelor's degree in law, and had begun articling under Zachary Hessington, and within eleven months Nicholas had completed his admissions exams, and had been given the okay to practice law. Immediately following Nicholas returned to school for the next three years in order to obtain his Masters in Law. Ten years had passed since Nicholas had begun practicing law, him and Chelanna were still together, and he had built a fairly sized clientele, when he found out his father had passed away from age, leading to Nicholas deciding to take time off work. Unfortunately for him during his downtime the law firm he worked for had been forced to shut there doors, thus ending Nicholas' employment. Nicholas began picking up cases built upon his own clientele list working under his own firm alongside an old colleague named Janet Pearl naming the firm Crixus Pearl, he would spend the next ten years being self employed, and eventually marrying Chelanna. Until one day he came to his office, only to find an investor had forcefully taken him out of the equation. Nicholas now aged fourty finds himself having been forced out of his own firm, paying for his mothers apartment in Mendell City, seeks employement from the one giant that seems to be hiring everybody, NanoTrasen. What do you like about this character?: This character fufills a very unique role for me. The type that's supposed to remain unbiased, not to mention Nicholas is strong with words, not physically fit in the least bit, and this character speaks to a close friend I lost a couple months ago. What do you dislike about this character?: The fact that I haven't gotten to play as him much. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: My character has a decently long background as a lawyer, and I feel would make a great IAA. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd probably rate myself a 6 maybe a 5 depending on what's going on. Extra notes: My rating is based upon how I personally handle Role play with a large group of people. Say there's 6 people standing in the bar chit chatting. I tend to shy away from those encounters. And prefer to stick to smaller groups of 2 to 3. Link to comment
Blingx3
I have seen your characters around, espicially that AI. but I have not interacted with them to the level I'd like to give you feedback. I'll look out for them next time I play. As for the application, the story is just spot on, detailed with no boring aspects, I did enjoy reading it. The application is well written. I'd love to see more of you ingame to give you a full feedback. Link to comment
Thundy
That was a really good round of Malf. You apologized to everyone at the end but I honestly dont think you needed to. You are a good roleplayer and kept everyone engaged all the way up until the end, even the ghosts. Well done, no many people can do that. Be more confident man, you got this! +1 Link to comment
SleepyWolf
Aurelia is a gr88 borg, and I gotta say yes ;^) Link to comment
Dreviore
As much as I love the +1's I was kinda hoping for some constructive criticism about both my character, and my roleplaying. Link to comment
Feorn
Played a round with Daniel Seraph as a psychiatrist. Was a little quiet on the radios, but then shrinks and AI don't often interact. In other rounds I've had a little more interaction and don't have any issuers with roleplaying ability. I like the backstory, and love to see more lawyers. However, my only concern is that your backstory has you getting hired into NT directly as IAA. I'm not a hundred percent on corporate structure lore and stuff, but it seems to me they'd have someone work at least a couple years as something else before asking that they be loyalty implanted. I would also imagine a person would be a little hesitant to just be implanted right off the bat by a company they've never worked for. And you know, since it is tradition, +1. Link to comment
UnknownMurder
I tried being an IAA and it didn't work out well, I liked this man when he was a vampire a days ago. Moving on. I can vouch for this man. He is does play out his job to the best capability his job can stretch to as a Scientist doing his warble science stuff. +1 We need IAAs. Hire this man already. I appreciate the feedback, +1's are nice, but feedback's what I've needed the entire time. Now, I completely agree that it's odd, but as is to be expected when you're dealing with a position of such. I wanted my character to have a bureaucratic upbringing, and a bureaucratic job leading up to his even more bureaucratic job involving paper pushing, and such. Which unfortunately doesn't really leave too much in the way for it, I guess I could have Nicholas start as a member of HR for NanoTrasen, but it wouldn't really fit since I was trying to go for a kinda washed up lawyer vibe. I'm sure I can think of something to fit slightly better, once I get some more sleep. I wrote this entire app after being awake for 48 hours straight, and at 2:00 AM, I think I did fairly well considering the time. And yeah, psychiatrists don't tend to interact much with anyone outside of a few medical staff, and their patients, due to trying to keep things as personal as possible. Link to comment
Owen
Your application seems very well filled out and I have seen your character ingame along with your AI. I do like the fact that you are applying to play as Internal Affairs. Always good to see more of those ingame. I do have one question though, would you be willing to work with the CCIA Division if they send you a fax or give the IAA an assignment to do during the shift? Of course, this will not be every shift but I have been trying to get Internal Affairs more involved with us. Anyways, +1. Not an issue with giving them a whitelist. Link to comment

And yes, I would be on board with taking assignments from the CCIA Division, of course depending on what it would involve, and doesn't in fact involve my IAA running around with a gun. My characters not up for physical confrontation. Link to comment

Sometimes I have seen other CCIA have the IAA perform an interview on people. Link to comment

Nanako
So with the sudden influx of applications pending I thought I would bump this. Daniel Seraph is a pretty cool guy when he's not trying to lure me into dark rooms for murder Aurelia i wish i could remember more, the problem is that cyborg names seem to blur together. Is aurelia the floaty janitor bot who's rude to everyone? in any case, +1 from me Link to comment
Chada1
Nicholas seems like a good character, I've seen him around as a Visitor and there was nothing negative, but I never got to roleplay with him directly, only seen him around. However, I have roleplayed with Daniel Seraph and a little bit with Aurelia. No negative experience with Daniel, either. Though, I will say Aurelia can be obnoxiously silly at times... It's clearly intentional with their character. Coupled with your characters, I've seen you keep your cool in debates and other things and not be... what's the word? aggressive? In OOC. So even if there were a problem from what i've seen you'd probably be able to smooth it over in OOC before it escalated to anything. So, i'll +1 and hope i'm right about the OOC part. Link to comment

I've had my fair share of explosive moments. I prefer to deal with things between the parties involved right then and there, rather then involve staff. Thanks for the vote of confidence there. I've recently turned off all antagonists except Malf AI due to me being too burnt out to Roleplay the role. And yeah, Nicholas hasn't spent much time on the station, at the moment I'm RPing as if he's interviewing with some NanoTrasen officials for the positions. I'll probably have him onboard sometime tomorrow as a visitor once again. Link to comment
