Kaed Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I've noticed a number of rigs are defaulted to human body design (or in the case of the stealth suit you get on Raiders, simply does not show up on unathi and possibly other sprites). I've been on a server before where the rig suit changed its design when active to conform to the current species you were, so your snout isn't poking illogically out the front of your mask. So, maybe this is a thing you can look into. Also, adding a (magical) wizard hardsuit suit-cycler for their gem-studded hardsuit

Admittedly, I wear the AMI module anyways and assume that, since it fits to ones body, that it theoretically fit to my head, but it would be nice to have it visualized. The fashion possibilities are endless.
Alberyk Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Such is possible code-wise, since suits like the mercenary one and the chief engineer have different sprites for xenos. Still, it would require people to sprite the different suits for at least three different xeno species.

Mostly since I would like to see this done, considering how many hardsuits there are.

"It used to be this way, lets leave things as is' is a pretty dumb reason not to improve on game mechanics.
Carver Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Removing mechanical differences is arguable as to whether or not it's an improvement. If anything what I see as a good fix would be making it so non-humans/robots can't wear the stealth suit, perhaps limiting the availability of hardsuits as a whole to exclude non-humans/squids/robutts. But as the issue stands it seems like a suggestion that just demands a sprite request more than anything. So why not hit up a spriter?
