[Completed] Imraj's Four Items.

BYOND key: Canon35.

Character Name: Imraj Brar

Item Names: Kangha, Kara, Kirpan, Turban.

Why is your character carrying said items to work?: Imraj is a (mostly) devout sikh, and as per the Commandments of the tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh, he is to bring the Kangha and Kirpan with him at all times and wear the Kara on his wrist, and to wear a Dastar(Turban) as a sign of honour and respect.

Item Functions:

Kangha: Normal comb, when used on a person it will give out the message as normal combs do.

Kara: Worn on the gloves slot, purely decorational.

Kirpan: Vanity only, as weapons are not allowed it would do less damage than a rolling pin or fist, purely as a tool of fear or as a sign of devotion.

Turban: Used to cover long hair, worn on head slot, possibly dyeable using the good old clothing and crayon in the washing machine. As I normally play as security with Imraj, I had a minor idea of possibly having the Turban provide the same level of protection as a helmet, or at least slightly armoured.

Item Descriptions:

Kangha: A small wooden comb.

Kara: A bracelet made of what looks like steel.

Kirpan: A knife with a metal grip and blade, has strange characters written on the sides.

Turban: A piece of soft headgear.

Item Appearance: Sadly, I cannot sprite, so I'm providing links of what these items look like in real life.

Additional Comments: For those of you against the armoured turban idea, I would like to add that the detective and HoS coats are armoured despite the fact that there is no IC explanation of just why they are.

All of these sound relatively reasonable to accomplish. I'm not a dev, so don't take my word to heart though.

The comb seems like a simple renaming and recoloring.

The Kara seems like a very simple item to create and add.

the Kirpan is the only item I'm really iffy about. Although, If downgraded to rolling pin damage, I'm cool with it.

And the the turban, the armored part I'm.. eh.. about. The turban is an easy item to add, but if it were up to me, I wouldn't add the armored aspect. I'm not a dev, though. So, don't take my word to heart.

Nooooooo. The detective's hat has armor because it's something coded /long/ before Aurora was even a thing, if anything this is a function that must be removed in my opinion. Simply because an old item has something that doesn't make any sense, does not mean that your custom items should have things that don't make sense. Furthermore, the HoS coats are literally called armored coats.

The rest I can vouch for because I believe you can make more char development through these items (because literally the only thing me and lots of other players know Imraj as is that asshole with temper problems), but I'm rather tentative about the Kangha. Wouldn't you just be able to get a comb from your custom loadouts, and use a handlabeler to call it "Kangha"? Also, if anything, the Kirpan should do damage so low that you wouldn't even /think/ about using it in combat; you'd be better off going in barehanded than using the Kirpan.

More items supporting current-day religious and cultural values in a serious context? Yes, please!

Also, simple solution for the Kirpan: make it sealed within its sheath and impossible to draw - that's the status of Kirpans in lots of countries that allow them, whereas other knives might be banned.

Good idea, while it would be nice to be able to actually use the kirpan as a stun weapon or in actual combat, CC would not allow an normal sec officer to bring such an item (Sadly.). But, I would like to keep it in it's dull, unsealed form to act as a tool of intimidation.
