Reason for complaint:

I am not complaining. I post this on Command Staffs and Security Department to complain since the ERT tried to redirect the complaint to the Central Command Internal Affairs Agent where in hence CCIAs are unable to touch due to underlying information the Antags are involved.

Command Staffs had issues with the Emergency Response Team over something about Bartender's death and other stuff. I was Devin Wright at that time and did not bother with Emergency Response Team due to attempting to roleplay being paranoid with Blank due to Devin Wright's death and Blank being accomplice. Moving on...

The Emergency Response Team was called to deal with visitors (Heist Members) after Security was wiped out by a single welder bomb tank.

That's all I generally know to confirm the information. Please know, I am not angry. I am not complaining.

because aiming a shotgun which could be loaded with anything at a fucking ERT member armed with lethals is a good idea

who is hans and why the heck is he talking smack to CCIA though

Wait I found something...

[security] Tpr. Deutsch says, "He had a warning shot. It was a flashbang. When he got back up he was shooting again."

Tpr. Deutsch says, "He had a warning shot. It was a flashbang. When he got back up he was shooting again."

Cross reference with the above post by Nikov. This statement is absolutely incorrect. The bartender did not return fire until after he was riddled with 5.56mm bullets.

This is murder by all accounts. No marked effort to detain the person whatsoever.

Doesn't matter if the bartender raised their gun or not in this case, the flashbang should've been enough to set up for another application of non-lethal measures and a detainment after that.

Here's a question.

Did Tpr. Deutsch shoot the bartender, or did Tpr. Hans? I have no combat logs of bullets impacting the bartender. My record says Adrian Agnelli was shot, while wearing an atmospherics hardsuit. Was the bartender in an atmospheric hardsuit? Is it not odd to see someone in an atmospheric hardsuit with a shotgun? Is it odd to see armed civilian staff in stolen space suits near the armory? Has anyone considered the context surrounding this event?

My IC statement was incorrect because my IC statement was made with a flawed understanding of the circumstances. Lets not go proving characters to be mis-remembering IC in a player complaint. Lets ask what players did wrong. Deutsch attempted to arrest the two suspicious persons attempting to go EVA to the mercenary shuttlecraft outside of the fore port solar airlock. Deutsch retreated when a shotgun was leveled at him, fired a flashbang, and dragged the nearest downed party. This person then got back up and ran away. Adrian pulled a gun on an ERT trooper, was banged, was dragged down the hall, got back up before the ERT could cuff him, attempted to flee again, was fired on, and then fired back.

Deutsch had no reason to believe these two space-suited and armed persons weren't terrorist collaborators with the other terrorist who had killed most of Security in the very hallway this second batch were found in. Especially after refusing to surrender, flagging him with a shotgun, running from his arrest attempt, and never breathing a word the whole time.

One refugee who he had contact with (and who was carrying an energy crossbow), fled him saying she was going to the bar for a drink. Now here's someone with the bartender's shotgun just west of the armory going out the airlock with an accomplice to the 'refugee' ship from which terrorists came from.

HMMMM.

Someone tell me why the bartender had their shotgun out of the bar.

Someone tell me why the bartender stole an atmos hardsuit.

Someone tell me why the bartender was trying to reach the 'refugee shuttle'.

Someone tell me why the bartender thought it was smart to point a shotgun at the ERT when they attempted to arrest them.

Someone tell me why the bartender himself isn't filing this complaint.

Someone tell me why we're not hearing their story, just nitpicking IC misunderstandings from the only person with the balls to write anything of substance in this thread.

1138 says the flashbang should have been enough to start up non-lethal attempts to arrest. It was attempted. They fled the attempt. I only had one bang in the tube and the drag effort I made to pull them away from their co-belligerent doesn't show up in the combat log. After they fled the arrest attempt, they were shot because they still had a shotgun and were fleeing the ERT toward the terrorist shuttle.

I remain intensely curious as to why they were in Security maintenance attempting to reach the antag shuttle with firearms on a code red when an ERT was already aboard and no hue and cry for militia was ever sounded. Valid hunters who aim at CentComm agents are now defended as innocent victims of the jackbooted ERT?

The ERT is shit because we presume the ERT is shit, call them anyway, and no matter how they try to not be shit, whatever shit occurs is presumed to be their fault, because the ERT is shit. This is why Deutsch was also blamed for a phoron fire, IC and OOC, caused by two now-banned synthetics because he trooper happened to respond to the fire alarm.

Drop the meta-assumption that all ERT are shitlers. I deferred repeatedly to the command staff and even granted the Captain was still in command of the station, two allowances I never see reciprocated myself. I did my best to play detective, bring more sec officers in, invented a roleplayed concept that let the sec team identify the passports as fraudulent, and allowed both heisters, who walked into both the ERT troopers in arrivals thirty second after we docked, to get medical care, to be suspected but not prejudged, and to not be hosed down in bullets right after we arrived because they were wearing a cyber-suit control pack and the other was carrying an energy sword. Was I a shitler then?

If the offended party isn't willing to file this complaint, but I'm expected to defend anonymous allegations on behalf of both myself and my co-trooper, with no context to be given from the offended party that might actually produce some clarity as to what happened this round... then what are we left with? My IC word against my OOC word? God forbid a character's memory be less accurate than the chat log.

This is going long, and I let the salt flow. IC errors becoming OOC shitstorms are a peeve of mine, as are allegations from the anonymous offended. If I could get the bartender, hans' and the apprentice's points of view, maybe we can hash out exactly what happened without having to presume so much. But I've only my own memory of the sprite movements and the text log I saved, and I feel like the only thing I'll end up doing is testifying against myself if I misremember. Please make more effort than that to prosecute this little mess.

okay so real simple right, I'm hans. I don't know what happened to the bartender, Nikov or whoever shot him, but if you aim a shotgun at ERT, I will smoke you. End of. The engineering apprentice fought me, took the bulldog and aimed at me before promptly dying and getting banned by staff. Whoever said we started the fire in science is just... dumb, okay? Right, the two that did it were killed and banned (it was a borg and a maint drone) I wouldn't be surprised if the bartender was banned as well.

so to end this up, if you shoot at ERT or attack us, we aren't going to go *its okay ;3 (stun)(stun)* you are going to die if you pose a threat and don't stop posing a threat when a flashbang is used and you aren't immediately shot at. Which, to no surprise, aiming a shotgun that could have slugs is posing a threat. The bartender I was unrelated to so not much I can say. The only people I killed were non-antags who were shitlers and got banned anyways (Engineering apprentiance, borg, maint drone.) I captured the heisters, patched a breach in science, and fought fires so I consider it a job well done.

and that end part with the CCIA was my character being pissed overall at the situation being blamed for things he didn't do.

I don't like shooting antags or anyone else unless I really have to, but I'm not all of the ERT. I'm also not going to take a chance on dying when we've had confirmed hostiles and you attack me with a crowbar or be a complete idiot. If I can, I'd take down antags or anyone else non-lethally or with talking, but somtimes it's not an option. This was one of those times.

I've looked over the logs and everyone's input and I've come to the conclusion that the ERT's behaviors and reactions towards everything is legitimate. Usually, aiming a weapon at an emergency responder is a bad idea, and one should fully expect to get their shit wrecked when doing so. As for the ERT's interaction with the CCIA, one must remember that ERT are people, too. A modicum of respect towards superior officers should be expected, but I see little reason to take action over one quick jab at a CCIA from an ERT after a heated moment.

This complaint will be closed in 24 hours unless anyone else has anything else to add.
