Arzion Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Tasers are standard-issued non-lethal weaponry handed over to Security. The problem comes that their main weakness of being projectiles with a travel time are nullified by the fact that they are now beams that can pass through transparent objects. The suggestion is to turn them back into projectiles, due to their extreme power and unexplained sciences on : How does it work? If it's a beam of lightning then why doesn't it discharge the battery in one or two shots? Turning them back into projectiles generally nerfs the immense power that Security has with both their laser and ballistic arsenal, and allows people avoiding security to stand a chance hiding behind glass or dodging the stun weaponry.
sonicgotnuked Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I don't really see the point of this. This is more of the "advanced better stun thing" due to the laser taser being inside the armory and pistols on captain, HoP, warden, and HoS. Security does not 24/7 carry laser carbines. Another thing to point out, it would add a greater range if going lethal on someone when they dodge all your non-lethal shots by windows.
Scheveningen Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Not unless you want to make the stun projectiles incredibly strong as non-lethal measures. Weak halloss beams work well enough, armor completely negates their usage anyway.
LordFowl Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Tasers work fine as is. Perfect for catching greytiders, but easily thwarted by most antagonists. Voting for dismissal.
Alberyk Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Regular tasers already fire projectiles instead of beam, more advanced energy weapons uses the beam version. Also, agreed with fowl here.
