[Denied] Ganondwarf's Unban Appeal.

Banning staff member's Key: SleepyWolf.

Reason of Ban: Take into account your character's comfort. Wearing hardsuits or internals for a prolonged period of time would be very tiring or uncomfortable. Do not wear these items without good reason. Directly disobeying staff.

Reason for Appeal: I was playing this round with my character Julian Caesar, while wearing a gas mask. Suddenly, I got PM'ed by the aforementioned staff asking me to take off the gas mask. I asked his motives and then he quoted to me this line in the rules "Take into account your character's comfort. Wearing hardsuits or internals for a prolonged period of time would be very tiring or uncomfortable. Do not wear these items without good reason." Until then, it was alright. I started arguing with him why my character was wearing the gas mask and tried to reason with him that, if the shift obeys real life time, it'd be barely 1 hour and a half since when the shift started and my character was wearing the gas mask. While I was trying to attend my obligations in-game, he kept PM'ing me constantly and I kept answering him that it was like the Engineer's hard-helmets. And hard-helmets are also likely uncomfortable to wear, but it's part of an Engineer's uniform so they HAVE to wear it. But even if gas mask isn't part of an officer's uniform, wearing it for 1:30 hours is not enough to make someone feel uncomfortable and I told the moderator that my character felt safer with the gas mask (as I told a few people in-character too[Azukah, for example]). It indeed WAS regarding comfort, since Julian feels safe with a gas mask while it prevents some hazards. Still, SleepyWolf kept PM'ing me and he managed to piss me off when he kicked me of the server while I was in the middle of processing. I got 30 seconds to get back online in the game and then he kept PM'ing me, lastly saying:

[Moderator PM] Sleepy Wolf: You cannot directly disobey staff, or the rules. Take into account your character's comfort. Wearing hardsuits or internals for a prolonged period of time would be very tiring or uncomfortable. Do not wear these items without good reason.

[Moderator PM] Sleepy Wolf: If you do not stop wearing it right now, there will be some sor tof punishment.

And then, after I answered them I finally obeyed his appeal and:

 

 

Okay, I know I've exceeded myself calling SleepyWolf an asshole. And I'm deeply sorry for that. But he'd already had kicked me from the server and kept PM'ing me in the middle of processing. We were having trouble that round handling a couple of antags, spiders and had no Warden. So I must appeal for you guys to be reasonable with me. Even though there was no reason for SleepyWolf to pick on me and I gave him reasons enough why my character was wearing the gas mask, I indeed took the gas mask off before he banned me for 1440 minutes and it was not even "right before", it was 2 or 3 minutes before the ban.

Hi, just going to post a fact. Gas masks are in no shape way or form comfortable and actively wearing without purpose can and will degrade it, this isn't shown by the mechanics currently.

This is a day ban, you continually refused after I made it clear. I was trying to be nice by just giving you a bit of a heads up that it's not accepted, and that wearing a gas mask IS very uncomfortable. I stand with my decision.

We rarely, if ever, appeal daybans, should probably note for the record. Should take the day off as free time to think about things, maybe try out another server for a bit and get some perspective, then come back whenever the ban wears off.

Never a good idea to countermand what staff tell you to do, by the way.
