How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Few years, give or take.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I want to play as a head of staff, and take charge of departments that often lack one; in doing so, steer them in the right direction and make sure that the round isn't any more painful than it has to be for those involved. Even a decent head of staff is better than none and can really make the round go smoother. Plus it means I get more IC justification to train people, which I do quite a bit and kinda like.

Why did you come to Aurora?: Because the characters made here are something special that you can't really find in any other medium, especially interactive in this sense. That, and probably because I'm masochistic to an extent.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: The act of fragmenting your brain into different mentalities and personas that you can somehow unify with a single sprite; of which the hair color acts, somehow, as the catalyst for how you will type for the next two hours. It's the act of placing yourself in another's shoes and experiencing things as they would, reacting accordingly. Generally speaking being someone else.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To help subtly guide the characters and players that make up the story we're all a part of in the right direction, and make sure that the RPs we all know and love are upheld as much as they can. It's great if they can try and be a decent model to new people as well. And generally speaking, a big part of being a decent model like that is making sure that their character isn't hugely snowflakey or otherwise unbelievable; that is to say, remaining level-headed for the sake of OOC and IC reasons, and making sure that they don't make any dumb decisions that, with the whitelist, possibly have the power to ruin the round for others.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Isn't this a similar-ish question as above? Basically to make sure that other players are having a good round and that no dumb decisions are made. I'd make sure that I don't do anything silly that'd end up potentially ruining the round for everyone. And I think that is something I've been alright at this far!

Character name: Miranda Steele

Character age: 48

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):

Miranda Steele was born in 2412 to a decent upper-class family of business owners, particularly on the pharmaceutical side of things, as an otherwise unspectacular child. Being raised by Nannie bots in lieu of the parents whom were too busy away on meetings and holidays, Steele was largely left to her own devices. Forced into education and always feeling the need to impress, Miranda quickly developed an inferiority complex; nothing was ever good enough for mom & dad. She worked, and she worked hard, studying through college and university with no real friends or family beyond the superficial, she found herself taking a keen interest in medicine and anatomy.

Completing her internship in 2439, she excelled in the anatomy aspect of her newfound work and for most of her years, operated at Biesel General. Compelled to succeed and prove herself to the people who forced her into this world, she became as focused, intent and preoccupied on her work as her family name implies. Myopically focusing on the next goal, and nought but her work, Steele found herself as a resident Chief Medical Officer in 2454. But she grew tired of the bedside manners involved in the work, and seeking something considerably more bureaucratic and otherwise less patient-oriented, she signed a contract with NanoTrasen. 2457 found Miranda working on board the NSS Apollo as Chief Medical Officer once again, only this time she was considerably more motivated by the paycheck, the perks, and the potential for progression. A transfer in 2459 found her operating on the Aurora, where she eagerly seeks out the next step in progression.

What do you like about this character?: She's a bit of a bitch. I like the distance she puts across, and her stoicism is a breath of fresh air from my other characters. She's also quite innately opposed to the value of life, again a nice parallel to my others. Miranda doesn't care a great deal about the whole being an intact organic thing, and readily accepts prosthetic improvement, implants, and genetic enhancement. She's a fan of technology and progress, which strangely is an outlook that doesn't seem too prevalent in the 25th century, but I digress.

What do you dislike about this character?: Not a lot right now, really. She could probably be a bit nicer, but at the same time that's what I like about her. I think I partially dislike her lack of bedside manners, but this is a medical bay in a research facility and not a stay overnight hospital, so I don't think it really matters too much. One thing that I didn't like massively, and was brought up by Abosh and a few others, was the extent of knowledge that she had regarding things such as Chemistry, but I've toned this back a notch so.

What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: She's competent and I think to an extent, can command respect when necessary. Even though she's an asshole, she doesn't outright arbitrarily hate anyone, and would happily hear people out if the situation called for it.

I've seen and greatly liked Miranda Steele in the past as an interim CMO.

Good doctor, good RP-er, and actually has a good employment record, praise be. +1 from me.

As a relatively new face to Aurora Station, I can honestly say that every experience I've had involving Miranda Steele has been super good RP. They're very competent in Medical knowledge and already command a sense of CMO. My first day as Annika Petrovka, I accidentally mistook her as the CMO and have sense still given them the same respect as I would that rank.

Played with Miranda Steele and she was alright, competent for sure and kept medbay together enough despite not having a CMO.

Played with Kizzy Jenson and we set up the engine together, a lot of good RP in that round with a pretty clearly defined character and an obvious attempt to make their actions realistic.

Very capable and responsible medical player. Having been rescued by them as a shaft miner (body fetching) to working alongside them as a doctor all I can say is that Miranda Steele would make a very good CMO.

The experiences I had with both Kizzy and Owl while playing Lia Otis/Detective also show to me they're a solid RP'er, they being capable of portraying a realistic character with proper depth.

Definitely a +1 from me.

Definitely capable of playing multiple different kinds of characters--one of their previous characters, Charlie Reader, was a total cynic most of the time when I stalked them in ghost, very different from Kizzy Jenson. Only problem I have is that they screwed this app up, and posted the first half twice. and that they're getting feedback much faster than I am :c

I play Ackin'on and I've enjoyed RPing with Miranda a lot she seems competent in medical and she is competent in medical and is seemingly very vital to the staff there.

I'm going to give them a +1 purely because of her competency and he ability to have interesting and fun one on one RP sessions. Thank you for making the station that little bit better!
